La Terrazza Roma Reviews from The Last Year
A TOTAL EXPERIENCE
Wow .. what an experience this place is - from start to finish it blew our minds. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. If you want a fine dining Michelin star experience in Rome then please choose this restaurant over the others. We felt spoilt from the moment we walked through the doors. Our server was absolutely incredible, he explained the menu and how it worked and gave us a breakdown of each dish once served. This booking was the highlight of our whole trip. We did eat at other Michelin star restaurants and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. You will not regret the experience you will have here it’s worth every penny - thank you for making our trip to Rome so memorable
Stunning view of Trajan's column
Beautiful view, excellent aperitifs, beautiful, kind people. I have the gift of synthesis and here it is not appreciated I have to dilute the broth
Wonderful last evening in Rome👌
Enjoyed a wonderful last evening here. Friendly service. Culinary top. Nice photos of the celebrities who passed by here. The round table of 6 was the top seat in the restaurant!
Excellent cuisine!!!
This is a truly excellent restaurant with a view. The service exceeds all expectations. His food and flavors are fantastic. His kitchen deserves congratulations!!
Perfect
Beautiful and delicious. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. A very beautiful setting for this very chic restaurant.
Not worth the money!
Christmas Eve, probably, like everywhere, a bit more expensive than usual... This was definitely not worth the money. Beautiful location in a wonderful hotel. Menu at €255 and matched wines for €120. Apero and Irish extra. So €900 for 2 people. Not worth it at all. Management made some mistakes here and there. In Belgium, the level of a star restaurant is much higher. Too bad, not a nice feeling afterwards.
Fantastic food and superlative spot
Amazing food and service ! Highly recommend! Staff was very polite and nice . Beautiful setting and good food !
Confused ideas and lack of quality
The recent renovation of the good previous restaurant of the legendary Eden hotel in via Ludovisi has undoubtedly worsened the quality, perhaps also with the excessive prospect of creating, if unsuccessful, an international product for excessive tourist use. The fabulous terrace overlooking Rome has been divided into two, one part, further reduced, reserved for the starred restaurant whose impact is however dark, solely composed of black and brown, lights that are too soft and none of the airy blue vision that was previously spot on. Conceptual disaster by the architects of the multinational hotel company that now manages the Eden. But let's move on to the quality of the culinary offering. The menu is rather limited and, although it is current practice not to overdo it, it honestly deserves a few more dishes. The execution of the dishes is regularly good, nothing to say but there is nothing superior and exceptional enough to actually justify the Michelin star. We need to do more and better beyond the minimum wage even though it is easy to appear valid in front of plethora of Asian tourists unaware of Italian quality and immediately ready to pay. The service in general is also a weak point, lacking, inattentive, confusing and here too limited to the minimum requirement. In a restaurant with very high demands and top prices it is ridiculous to note that the bread is not even produced inside and that for dinner a very hard wholemeal bread cut into macro slices bought from a shop in the morning is offered, ditto there is no water list minerals and oils. The wine list is disorganized and unbalanced between shortcomings on the one hand, excessive on the other, a mix of valid and invalid producers all exposed to extra high prices. The sommelier proved to be unprepared by getting a type of Barbera wrong, which was then absent and not reported, mistaken for a producer...she then cobbled together an incorrect technical discussion on different levels of champagne. We're not there, how to ruin a historically beautiful place. First of all, a truly attentive management is needed to rebalance the current trend which, although commercially positive, only creates a short-term path and does not have the conditions to go far.
Outraged
Beware! This restaurant took our money. We had made reservations for our trip to Italy, and had to cancel. We tried to do it on the fork website and when the cancellation didn’t go through (poor data while we were abroad) we called the place and cancelled verbally. Lo and behold they charged our card $200 for the cancellation. We have sent several emails to get the charge reversed but we have been ignored. A real stain to what would have otherwise been a perfect trip for me and my husband.
Delicious, classy and killer view
La Terrazza completed (for me) my list of Roman fine dining restaurants with spectacular views (previously we had been to La Pergola, Aroma, Imago). I have to say, I was impressed. It was – culinary-wise - on the same level as Imago and clearly better than Aroma, and the atmosphere was nicer (in our subjective opinion). The service was impeccable, the view phenomenal. We opted for the 4 course option (3 courses + dessert) as we had a disappointing tasting menu at Pulejo the night before. As you also get amuse bouches as well as a pre-dessert and the portions are very reasonable, this is more than enough food, but for those who want to stay longer, there were also two tasting menus available and as far as I could see, these consisted mainly of the dishes you can order a la carte. My wife was delighted with her scallop starter; for me, the pistachio liquorice risotto and the Amalfi lemon dessert were the highlights, but everything else was excellent too. It's definitely on my list of favourite restaurants in Rome and I hope to visit again.
One of the best fine dining restaurants we have ever been
One of the best fine dining restaurants we have ever been to - and one of the best meals of our lives! Everything was beyond outstanding. Views: 5++++ Food: amazing. Stellar. 5++++ Service: 5++++ I can't even describe how amazing and unique the food was. It was incredible. A must-visit when in Rome. And reservations are needed.
