Great meal, great service
Two for dinner and it was a lovely meal. Smoked salmon tartar as a starter - might have been the best salmon tartare I’ve had (and I’ve had more than a few. Delicate flavor. Entrees we’re a burger and the lamb shanks. Burger came with fries and all were cooked perfectly. Lamb came with a celeriac purée which was delicious. Shanks were a nice e size (not huge like some restaurants) so I could finish them. Server was Raul and he was great. Kept his eye on us to see if we needed anything but didn’t hover. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast Buffet was convenient and good.
Very nice restaurant inside the Center Hotel. We ate the breakfast buffet here twice, because our hotel nearby did not have a restaurant. The staff were kind and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyFriendliest staff
I had a buffet dinner twice at Lóa Restaurant twice with a group, The food was good, especially the fish, and what makes this restaurant really good is that the staff are the friendliest in Reykjavik.
Be the first to ReplyGood value
Limited menu at dinner. Everything well prepared and delicious. Great service from Patryk and the bartender. Very good value set menus for 2 or 3 courses.
Be the first to ReplyNot bad - solid food and service. Maybe better for lunch than dinner.
Not a bad spot for food. Service was good, food was okay. This might be a better spot for lunch, but not for a lovely dinner.
Be the first to ReplyService should be better but still friendly staff
Went ONLY for a beer not food. The waiter came often to ask what I wanted. I always said beer. But the beer never came. So I always had to stand up and go to the bar and order. NOT that it matters but still maybe says alot about the service

Be the first to ReplyNot sparkly enough for NYE
We booked the set new years eve early dinner. The fact we were staying in the hotel so didn't need to get wrapped up to go for dinner was an added bonus The staff were pleasant but there was no individual attention just lots of rushing about. The food was ok. Nothing to complain about but nothing memorable. The whole experience lacked energy and any sparkle especially given it was NYE and that the meal (without drinks) was over £250.

Very tasty, fresh food and excellent service. Our server Magdalena was great, as were all of the other staff.
Be the first to ReplyLukewarm meal
On a cold evening had a warm welcome by staff into this smart looking restaurant. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin which he was completely happy with. I ordered the fillet of cod. It was beautifully presented and the flavours would have been enhanced even more if the meal would have been hot - unfortunately it was lukewarm. The young lady waiting on asked if everything was alright with our meals before we had even started eating so this felt just a formality. A large party then arrived so I couldn't get anyone's attention. By then anyway, I'd already quickly eaten it before it became stone cold. I should have been able to eat the meal slowly and savour those flavours. (We ate again at another restaurant later in the week and I had arctic char and again it wasn't hot enough so maybe this is how the fish is served here. The meal would have been perfect if my food would have been hotter.
Be the first to ReplyHigh price, low quality.
Overpriced and there were anything special with the food, after all the good reviews I feel very disappointed, the service was ok but not to professional at all, wine selection is also very poor and expensive.

Excellent food and service . The carpaccio a d cerviche followed by the lamb ribeye was amazing . Our waitress was very helpful!
Be the first to ReplyWell worth a visit
I just finished having an early dinner at Loa. I had my eye on this place prior to my visit to Reykjavik, and I’m glad I dropped by. First plus about this place is the nice and relaxing atmosphere; decor is toned down and the staff are very welcoming. The food was very good. I had the creamy fish soup as a starter which was just amazing. I had a sore throat and the soup was just what the doctor ordered, warm, bright, and full of flavour. Main for me was the pan fried Ling (similar to cod). The portions are generous and the accompanying vegetables (cauliflower, Bok Choy and broccoli) went so well with the fish and mashed potato. I didn’t try any dessert because I was full after the main, but from what I saw on the tables, they seem worth leaving space in your tummy for. I was attended to by Magdalena and she was excellent with her service and recommendations. This restaurant is definitely worth a second visit and I can’t wait to return.
Be the first to ReplyA pleasant surprise for a hotel restaurant
Stayed at the CenterHotels, Laugavegur while on a AAA Tour. Breakfast was included & was your standard European breakfast fair. Plenty of food, great variety & wonderful breads w/excellent butter. Decided to try dinner there & were quite impressed! We had the oven baked cod & the meat soup w/side salad. Both were very good! Prepared perfectly & presented very nicely. Would have them, both, again! What really amazed us was the staff. There were 4 staff members on duty serving in the restaurant, one of which was tending the bar. There were 10 tables w/ 2 people at each; 3 tables w/5 people, at each and 1 table of 20 people & everything ran like clockwork! The staff were quick & efficient & we never heard one complaint. Every staff member did everything. Even the bartender was delivering meals & drinks! A well orchestrated operation! Kudos to Tina, the Shift Leader, her staff & the guys & gals in the kitchen! This was a wonderful surprise! The restaurant is open to the public, so even if you don't stay at the CenterHotels, Laugavegur give the restaurant a try!

Excellent food in a calm, relaxed atmosphere. Good service too. The lamb was soft and lovely - good portion size. The sauce was exceptionally good.

Excellent quality food. I can vouch for the roast lamb and the chocolate cake. Service was good and attentive. We would go again.
Be the first to ReplyLast night fancy meal
Attempting to do a Reykjavik break on a budget isn't easy. But for our final night we splashed out and booked a meal at Loa. We chose Loa due to its high rating on Trip Advisor, its location close to our hotel, the ability to book a table online, and also I knew there would be a vegetarian option for me. So had pretty much decided on our order even before we arrived. Staff were welcoming and very attentive (almost too much so when they check back the moment you've a taken your first mouthful). The decor a modern take on 70s casual and the food was presented beautifully. It was probably a bit fancy for my usual taste as I had to ask what the strange pip like berries on my parsnip dish were (paprika I found out - who knew?). Other half had the lamb and demolished the lot and then a chocolate cake. For Iceland prices it wasn't bad, just don't convert it to £ as then it seemed like a crazy expense.

Be the first to ReplyGreat Food & Service
We stopped in for lunch as we wandered Reykjavik and were not disappointed. The food was lovely and staff were very friendly. Really glad we found this little gem of a restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and informal atmosphere
We had a lovely family meal here on our first evening in Iceland. The food was all excellent, the service was very good and we had a really relaxed meal. With three non-vegetarians and one vegetarian, providing a vegetarian amuse bouche was a nice touch. The bread and butter was fantastic. We would definitely visit the restaurant again if we were in Reykjavik.
Be the first to ReplyLovely food!
Lovely food! One of the best dinners I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend the pan fried ling. must try! The restaurant itself was also very lovely inside and staff were friendly.
Be the first to ReplyInformal atmosphere with an upscale meal.
Prompt and helpful service. Server was engaging and knowledgeable as she answered questions about ingredients. Less than 10 minutes between ordering and food being served. Both the arctic char and lamb dishes were excellent and attractively served. Skyr yogurt-based dessert were delicious and had an attractive presentation.

Great food and great service. We had a really lovely family meal in a very relaxed environment. Would definitely come back if we’re back in the area.

Had some wonderful traditional Icelandic soup to start. Did not regret. Our server Julian treated us great. I’ll return when I come back to Reykjavík
