Great food (tacos and tamales are amazing! So is the Molcajete) friendly and patient staff, and great cause. Will definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious Oaxacan food.
I've always wanted to visit Oaxaca and this place definitely gave us a taste of what it will be like. The restaurant is small with a few tables but it wasn't crowded when we went for lunch on a holiday Monday. My boyfriend and I shared the mole poblano, mole oaxaqueรฑo, and molcajete. The mole dishes came with rice, beans, and warm tortilla and I also got a small horchata. Everything came out piping hot and fresh, bursting with flavor with every bite. Nothing was too spicy but if you like sweeter things, I would highly recommend the mole poblano.

I had amazing chile rellenos with white mole and a jรญcama agua fresca. It was delicious. I loved the fresh tortillas, fluffy rice and yummy salsitas. This is unlike other restaurants though. This place has a great community vibe. They've combined advocacy and hospitality and it's working!
Be the first to Replydidn't like it.
.., and over priced. Much better places to eat authentic Mexican food in The area. I won't be back
Be the first to ReplyBest Mexican food in NYC! Delicious mole and aqua frescas.
We were well attended to during lunch and ordered almost everything on the menu to share. Everything was amazing, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The mole was absolutely our favorite.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Mexican food finally.
A great variety of flavors in so many dishes. I highly recommended. We live in the lower east side and it's 100% worth the trip.
Be the first to ReplyVERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!! .
EXTREMELY OVERPRICED, AND SMALL PORTIONS!!!Mole was not good as it was hyped up to be. Not sure who decided this was one of the best in NYC. Definitely is not. I have been to Mexico many times, and this does not do justice. ย Under seasoned, no balance in flavor. My local Mexican restaurant makes better.Besides that, my husband got food poisoning. Do not go!$50 for mole with 2 chicken legs, 1 pork rib, in a bowl of green mole, 1 chili relleno, and a very small bowl of rice and beans. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Excellent, authentic food (including vegetarian options!) from a family who are giving back to the community in many different ways. These folks are an inspiration and, even if they didn't have such an important role in the community, I would still be excited to eat their food any time. Can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes!

I placed a big order with La Morada today for a welcome lunch for new students. We got 8 orders, ย tacos, sopes, burritos (chicken, steak, spicy pork etc), guacamole and chips etc. The food was sooo yummy! Everyone loved it. We were stuffed but couldn't stop eating the food was so good. Marco was so professional, kind, and helpful! It was greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for the delicious food! It was a hit. Really appreciate the work that you all do as well!

This tiny restaurant is serving some quality, reasonably priced Mexican eats while helping to feed the community as a mutual aid kitchen. I had the chilaquiles, which was enough to have two meals, but it was so good I forced myself to finish it. I'm greedy I know. The verse sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the tortillas. The rice and beans were not special, but gave the dish a little body.
Be the first to ReplyBest Mexican food I've ever eaten.
This place is located in the South Bronx, away from the hustle and bustle of trendy restaurants in the area. When I first walked in, I saw a large bookcase and purple walls (both are my favorites). The small paper menu has a special menu for vegetarians and meat lovers. I ordered the green chilla kele sauce for the steak ... hmm! The sauce is soft, buttery and delicious. This adds a nice contrast between juicy steak and egg. My friend ordered black bean cornbread along with cactus salad. He likes the nopal grape slice. There is also horchata, soft and sweet. Great service ... the waiter gave us more water even after checking in and paying the bill. I will definitely come back and try Ramorada for everyone I know.
Be the first to ReplyThank god for take out.
Not only is your food but but your service was amazing. Food tastes fresh, seasoned well prepared to perfection. Had the enchiladas. No one does it better. It is also Amazing what you are doing. You all are angels on earth. Please continue the give back . May God's bless you!!!!

Delicious food, some of the best aguas frescas you can get anywhere in NYC, and a really wonderful staff who put the money from the restaurant towards important social justice movements that affect the lives of thousands of New Yorkers and their families. Can not recommend more highly! Try the chilaquiles, enchiladas, mole & chile rellenos
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in New York
This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in New York City. The moles are delicious. It is also place run by a family with a very big generous heart.

Be the first to ReplySo delicious, we are fairly new residents to Sobro.

The food is good very authentic but I have to say the prices are a lil steep considering the small portion size and the neighborhood . We asked to ย have a taste of one of their ย moles ย before committing to it and said no we had to either buy the taste or fully commit to it , ย in the city at any restaurant they would gladly do it. I gave three chances to this place and although is not bad and love their whole concept I don't tHink I would come back . Sorry but you can get a better deal for your buck else where .
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great place! Really excellent moles, here.
Real depth of flavor in them. Tasty beans and moist rice. The best of Oaxaca cuisine. The restaurant clearly has a social mission too (Welcoming refugees and immigrants, supportive of Dreamers, etc.),which makes it an even more appealing place. Marco is super welcoming. I'll be back soon.
