Bon Appetite
Both indoor and outside dining options. Inside seating is a bit tight and very loud, we opted for outside and it was perfect. Great for lunch or brunch, we had a very attentive server and was very accommodating with our requests. Great cocktails and a wonderful wine list.
Be the first to ReplyGlad we got to eat here!
We had seen pictures on instagram and wanted to see for ourselves. I can say it isn’t a cheep place, but really what do some people think it would cost, ( after reading some of their complaints about the price, like go someplace else). It was a New York experience for us. We loved our food and drinks. The baked eggs with Bri and mushroom, was delicious, And the butternut squash with bacon quiche was so creamy. I did love the decorations and if I had the chance to return to NYC, I would make reservations once more, FOR SURE!
Be the first to ReplyDreadful, overpriced food. Pretentious. Doesn't deserve a single star.
Brunch, extortionately priced for sub standard food. Eggs were underdone, fancy crockery does no justice. Awful, awful food. Couldn't believe how low this place is. Over rated. Wouldn't recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyOnce it was a great place… bnow it is a nighmare
My wife and I used to go to La Mercerie simce it has opened ita doors. We loved the restaurant, the decoration and the food. We’ve travelled to NYC this time and, of course, we’ve made areservation there. However, it was so sad to see that “our restaurant” became a terrible place to be. We got there and it was so crowded, that we had to wait on a long line, outside, under the sun. The hostess (a brunette with pale brown eyes) was a miseducated and snobish young lady that has made zero effort to help and was very unpleasant. The waiter was terrible: he made 2 mistakes and our orders never came ( the manager had to apologize for that). We had such a bad time that we swallowed the food fast to go away. To close the nightmare, they do not accept payment with cell phone and we had to swipe a card in a corner… we will never go back again. So sad…

We made the reservation from Greece, when we visited it, it was as we saw it on Instagram, excellent. We spent a wonderful evening with family and friends!
Be the first to ReplyThe perfect restaurant in the perfect place
Simply the best evening and the highlight of the trip for 4 girlfriends from London. Everything was so lovely - from the excellent food and wine to the very friendly and professional staff - at every level. We were made so welcome having waited a number of years to visit as a result of the pandemic. It was so worth the wait and I cannot recommend La Mercerie highly enough. I hope you experience the setting and atmosphere for yourself. Enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyFriendly staff and excellent menu.
This restaurant is well worth a visit if you are in New York. Located on Soho, it serves genuine French food all of which is delicious. I would highly recommend it, of you like authentic French cuisine
Be the first to ReplyNice dining experience
we all thought it was delightful place to dine. Overall we had a wonderful meal. Food is excellent. The halibut , short ribs were great. Person that ordered a steak said it was the best steak he ever had. Our server was a little condesending but efficient. Cocktail list is limited. Nice wine selection. Very expensive and they even charge you for bread.

You would assume a French Restaurant could make an edible crepe. Not so fast! Worst food I've had in many many years and it cost a damn fortune. This was a long planned special night with friends and the menu had such odd choices and the food was just God Awful. I have to say it is very pretty and we enjoyed the banquet seating but holy cow! We paid dearly for the privilege of sitting at that table. Ruined the evening for everyone....and we all had to go have dinner AGAIN that evening since no one ate their food. What a great disappointment.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect (for eating in a home furnishing store)
This restaurant is located "inside" of a home furnishing store. As you eat shoppers are constantly roaming the isles in search of the right sofa, table, vase or napkins to improve your home. The food was very good and the service was attentive. That said (and for the prices that were charged) I'd personally opt for a bit of tranquility and harmony at a fine restaurant. If you don't mid the commotion, go for a good meal.
Be the first to ReplySkip this restaurant, if you want to have a bad meal in a loud and drafty room, very poor hostess with bad manners
The room is very loud , every time the door opens you can feel the draft , the foot is below par , really overpriced badly executed poor food, service is just ok we wished we had skipped and gone somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyExtraordinary French Food in a gorgeous setting
Right in the heart of Soho, this beautifully appointed restaurant is in the Roman and Williams shop. While the menu is a bit limited, each dish is so flawless you don't need more options. The food is classically french and served on dishes that are for sale in the shop. Be sure to try the quiche or buckwheat crepe for lunch. They also make delicious drinks that are served in pretty coupes. It's a great place to take in the visual beauty of soho while enjoying excellent food.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing French food amidst the wildflowers
Located in the Roman and Williams shop, this French eatery is a beautiful setting for delicious French fare. The quiche and buckwheat crepes are flawless. Be sure to try one of their non-alcoholic drinks that are served in beautiful glassware most of which is for sale in the shop.
Be the first to ReplyTasty breakfast/Awesome pastry
We’had a nice Sunday breakfast in here. The pastry tasted soo good, we’ve orderes couple more. A little pricy, but totally worth it.
Be the first to ReplyNice epensive decor & Great service! Limited menu.
We had Easter brunch there. The menu is limited with food option and in high end pricing (of course). The ambiance is great. Very nice and expensive gallery inside. However, it is cozy (not cold and give you a stiff atmostphere like you are sitting in a Michelin starred restaurant. The table settings are very nice. Waiter is polite and attentive. I'd come back for an adult family dinner (w/o kids) or a business dinner. We had a good dining experience there!

It was our second time here, and it was a satisfying experience -- almost like the first time but not quite. On this last visit, we sat outside which was decorated nicely. The quiche was tasty, but the watercress soup lacked a bit of flavor. The wine selection was nice. The service was good, but a bit aloof. La Mercerie scores high in ambiance and decor -- definitely one of those super Instagrammable spots -- but I'd give the food & service a solid B.
Be the first to ReplyChic space + good food, but very rude hostess!
If it weren’t for the poor service up front, this would have been a five star experience.
It’s an incredibly beautiful and tastefully decorated space, and it was very cool to browse the artisanal furniture and decorations. However, we had pretty bad service from the start. When we first tried to walk in without a reservation, the host said they were fully booked for the next hour. However, immediately after I went outside I was able to make a reservation on Resy for a table that would seat us 15 minutes later.
Also, when they kept prolonging our wait time inside, we browsed in the back. We saw several people camping out and doing work, sitting in the chairs that were for sale. My friend and I sat on one of the couches on display, not thinking anything of it.
When the hostess came to fetch us, she snapped at us that we couldn’t sit on the furniture. To me; this is ridiculous. There was no sign anywhere that forbade us, and I don’t understand why she didn’t reprimand the other people who were sitting on the furniture. Terrible attitude.
While the rest of the meal was quite good (salmon croissant was delicious), this negative interaction put a slight damper on my mood and put a bad taste in my mouth.
This is certainly a very sophisticated place with upper crust clientele, but it’s also very pretentious. It is a cool experience to come here, but you should keep in mind you won’t be coming here for great service.
Tasty, tasteful, relaxed lunch
Came with wife for a lunch. Definitely glad we made reservations. Wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. Only annoyance was needing to order appetizers and mains at the same time. But this did not result in a rushed service so no real problem. The Niçoise salad was great, as was the baked egg with mushroom toast. The duck confit was as one would expect from a well-regarded French restaurant. The cod, however was a bit of a disappointment. The mustard was overpowering. Otherwise, a lovely lunch.
Be the first to ReplyDecent food and decent service but expensive
We dined here on a reservation tonight and found the taste and presentation of the food to be quite nice. The Squash dish is simple- 1/2 a baked butternut squash served on a bed of greens. At $28 it is an extremely poor value. The Bourguignon is short ribs served over a bed of pasta in a beefy broth. It was delicious, but at $43 it's also a very poor value. The Nicoise salad and veloute soup were both delicious but also overpriced at $29 and $19. Bottled water was $10 and the three deserts we ordered $15, $15 and $16.
Service was very good.
Terrible
My wife and I came here on a Saturday night with no reservation. We were luckily seated right away. In the middle of our meal we were asked to change tables because a party with reservations ended up have two extra people. No big deal. When we got our entrees my wife noticed that her steak was over-cooked. She asked for her steak to be rare-medium rare and they brought her medium-well. After we sent it back, the manager approached us and said that since the chef thinks he cooked it right, we will have to pay for another one. Unacceptable. We refused to pay for another one and since they had already taken the original, we left hungry. We were pretty shocked because all restaurants would just apologize and replace the dish. I've never heard of a restaurant asking you to pay for their correction. Shameful.

The sweetest place. Every time I go, there’s always a random celebrity, yet the staff treats me like one as well. Great people watching. Also, weirdly it’s in a shop, so lots to do while waiting for your food. Meals are simple and high quality. I would probably not recommend for little kids, lots of distractions and breakables.

We did not have reservations, but were fit in on a Friday night. We split a cheese plate, filet and 2 salads. We also added the peach dessert with ice cream. ALL were delicious. Server was excellent, as was the wine.
