Overhyped. Make sure you read the small menu and realize small size of place in advance.
In a tiny eight or so table eating place the experience can lobe heavily influenced by who else happens to be dining there. We had a bad night: a loud American film guy who dominated the room, his younger female companion who complained (accurately) that her cough medicine wasn’t working, and a guy sitting one foot from next us with awful eating habits. To make it worse we made clear we wanted the most private table but the waiter guided us to a different table saying the couple next to it would be leaving soon. When they left he proceeded to sit a walk-in couple at that table rather than another free table. The food could not and did not make up for the awful atmosphere. Very limited menu with four mains: a whole large roasted chicken for 70 euros (sounded really unappetizing—how good could it be and who wants half a chicken anyway); two beef dishes; and a fish of the day which we had. The assorted vegetable starter would have been great but for the ambience. Admittedly with our sensitivities we shouldn’t go to places like this—and reviews should point out the size of a place and the proximity of seating.

Good food, very friendly staff. Great wines. Personal service. We felt welcome even if we came one day too late…
A intime place in the 2.arr.
Just doesn't make it
After a sabbatical driven by the Covid plague we returned to Paris and I thought we should give Daniel Rose another shot. Last time we were there I felt like the place suffered a bit because if Rose's absence while he got his NYC restaurant off the ground.
Things haven't really changed. the restaurant isn't bad, but it also lacks something. I think that something is the inspirational food offerings that drove his other , early restaurant ventures, when he was actually in the kitchen. Right now, from a price/performance perspective this restaurant is somewhat of an also ran and I think there are many other places where you money will go farther.
The service was fine , the food was "OK", the ambience satisfactory. It just doesn't seem to be worth the time and money.
Our main courses went missing - and were not good when they did arrive.
Our experience fell way short of expectations. In fact we almost didn’t have a dining experience at all, as 90 minutes in it became evident that our main course order had been completely forgotten about . This has never happened to us before and was completely extraordinary in a very small restaurant. On seeing several other people who came in after us being served we alerted our waiter, who took speedy action. We both had ordered sole, which when it came (speedily) was slightly undercooked. The butter sauce was mediocre (as had been my first course of scallops). Our pleasant and very apologetic waiter gave us an additional dessert and two complimentary glasses of liqueur. Of the two desserts, the chocolate mousse was excellent but the thyme and olive oil sorbet rather peculiar. It is not unusual in a small restaurant to have relatively few choices, but this surely requires that those dishes which are served are of high quality.
We had seen that La Bourse et la Vie had high online ratings, but on closer inspection after our visit we have noticed that several of the most recent reviews, posted after it re-opened earlier this year, are very negative. In future we’ll pay more attention to up-to-date assessments.
Classic Paris Bistro
Small, unfussy palce with excellent bistro cuisine. Our server was delightful and helpful. To us, this is a classic Paris bistro. We recommend it.

I cannot beli
eve I am investing the time to even write a review except to ward of onlookers. Do not believe the hype the food is average at best and you are rushed right thru. Today was the 365th restaurant we have dined in over the last 10 years and this restaurant stood out as the most underwhelming and disappointing. The exception is the well chose wine list.
PS the crowd is American so if this is your scene you may fit right in with the Jones from Iowa.
Rip off central !!
The biggest portion was the French fries! Spent a good 80 euros getting to this place to be ripped off royally. Ordered the sole and the beef which I thought were starters given the size of the portions! I’ve never had such a rip off in paris. These guys know how to market online and get themselves into the right media. Complete and utter rip of for the price .... better off having a sandwich from a bakery.

The restaurant has been closed due to COVID until early September 2021. All new staff & Chefs. Only the proprietor is the same.
With the foie gras, which was excellent, it was accompanied by an overly strong sauce of great disappointment.
The fish, sole, was boring, basic, and undeserving of a 68 Euro price tag. Presentation was take it or leave it.
The dessert Mouse, although tasty was served as a blob.
Sorry, but I would take away their Star if the dining tonight was representative.
Limited menu, moderate, but extremely limited selections of wine.
Overall, pass, I’d have rather been at a quaint bistro.
