Dinner before the show… service was great; meal was lacking. Overcooked shrimp. Underseasoned bland prime rib twelve bites and the rest was fat. This used to be an amazing restaurant. I’ve had many meals here but this is the last. If you want yo charge a premium you must over deliver. Milton chocolate dessert wasn’t even warm and strawberries were not fresh.

Excited to try this restaurant based on some good word of mouth. Nice traditional ambience. Good variety on the menu. But the food and service were very average and a bit disappointing. Maybe it was an off night but probably won't be back.

Booked this for dinner during my solo trip. They were fast to accommodate by reservation even when I was a bit early. They had a lot of options to choose from but I chose the Seafood trip minus the salmon. The food was quick and tasted great. The shrimp was grilled and was a bit dry but overall everything was great. Service was good, server had a larger table and I would have like some bread while waiting for food. When I asked server if they do bread she informed me that you have to ask for bread they don't just bring it anymore. This was no at the end of my meal which she asked if I wanted some to go. Although I watched bread be delivered the larger group next to me to which they never ate any. Would try again as I know things happen.

We both had the filet mignon and it was absolutely delicious, soft and tender. With it came the best soft and moist potato I’ve ever tasted and some asparagus which complimented the steak perfectly. The service was excellent too. Would highly recommend.

Our hometown had a Kincade's some years ago which closed (due to real estate issues beyond their control). We liked it and were so happy to find their St. Paul location while on vacation. Finding fine dining at lunch these days can be challenging, but kincade's offers a great lunch, and we would definitely return for dinner. Excellent wine list with many well priced bottle options. Short walk from most downtown hotels/attractions and light rail (Green Line, Central Station).

It deserves a 5. Have been there many times and always a top restaurant and service. Everything was great before, when one orders on a regular night from the regular menu, no rushes and the kitchen is taking care of the customer. This is not what happened last night, a rare 3 course menu. We had a reservation. Many patrons had reservations and needed to wait. And let me tell you something, no problem waiting a little bit because there is no rush when you go out to have a nice night. The Mississippi River was flooded and the tributaries get stuck when there is too much water and they don’t have a place to take it out. Well, that happened last night in the Kinkaid’s kitchen. Too many orders that flooded the kitchen and they were not prepared. Soups that came lukewarm, orders that were delay in an unusual timing. Not common for Kinkaid’s. The Prime rib was not closed to what has been before, lukewarm and "strange" as well as the Pork Chop that was dry and hard. The worse scenario comes with desserts. Ordered Crème Brulee and Key Lime Pie. By the way, always delicious. Not this time. By the moment to have the desserts there were only available Cheesecakes. Now, the restaurant has the reservations, the amount of people to come and they failed really badly calculating not only desserts, they also did not have Seafood Trio. Anyway, we like the place very much, is our style of restaurant, the servers are very professional and dedicated. Hope the management have learned the lesson, yesterday. Will be back, see you soon.

We went after Sunday afternoon opera. Unfortunately it was also Mother’s Day . We had no reservation but they (sort of) graciously found a place for us in a booth in the bar area. We accepted that the price fix menu was the only thing possible so we were fine with it. The food was good but three hours later we were still waiting for dessert. No coffee was offered. We had finally stacked up our plates on the edge of the table so someone might notice we were ready for the next course. A half hour later someone finally did. I hope they were overbooked and understaffed. It will be a long time before we try it again.

We had a large group of 11 and our reservations were lost. After we were seated, it took our waitress a while to come back for our drink orders. I ordered shrimp scampi. It looked beautiful but was average tasting. The potatoes and asparagus were more impressive than the shrimp. I tried my friend's tenderloin and it melted in my mouth. Delicious! Our waitress seemed annoyed with us several times. While filling our water glasses, she spilled water on one of us. She continued to pour it all over the floor and a little more on the same person. There was a puddle on the floor after. It was a busy place. The food took an appropriate time to arrive.

An old time chophouse. Service was excellent. My food was really good, portion sized were small but not to small. Good selection of wines. Parking is tough. I will return
Be the first to ReplyWe loved this place before a show downtown
We arrived here at 5:00 p.m. which was perfect for a 7:30 p.m. show at the Ordway across the street. The restaurant was not very full and the host staff seemed a little clumsy for a 2 top table with a reservation. The restaurant did quickly fill up and we were actually quite satisfied with the little two top along the wall. Our waiter was friendly and fast. We enjoyed our drinks and bread before the meal. We both ordered fish; she had the scallops and I had the walleye. We found both satisfactory although the portions are not very large here. My side was rice and the vegetables of the day which were a combination of sweet potatoes, radishes, and green beans. I had never had radishes cooked before; meh, they were just tasteless, but not a distraction. We found the bread to be a little too caloric for our tastes with a topping on it which was like melted butter. The restaurant itself, the acoustics, the staff and the food all came together and created a wonderful evening. It has been a couple years since we ventured into downtown.
