Michelin rated - with the first Asian Michelin star chef in
Michelin rated - with the first Asian Michelin star chef in Europe (or Copenhagen?) Warning that the experience took 4ish hours. There was def something off about the night because we and others were left at the door with no greeting for about 8-10 mins - everything was just a little slow. Like maybe they were short staffed. Also they kind of ignored us after we were done eating even though we wanted to pay the bill lol. However, food was really great and no complaints otherwise, lots of showmanship, and flambé!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience and amazing tasting menu.
I have yet to encounter a Thai tasting menu, and the Michelin star here is more than well deserved. The experience itself takes you from the lounge area, while you sit and enjoy snacks and delicious drinks (my favorite here was the ice cream resembling chicken satay), to the dining room. The servers are amazing, explaining and making sure you understand the story behind each dish. The Tom yum soup (served very non traditionally but the taste is full of authenticity) is one of the best things I have ever eaten. In a city filled with options for fine dining, I highly recommend Kiin Kiin for a refreshing and entirely different tasting menu experience :)
Be the first to ReplyVery good restaurant.
The chef has thought of everything from the presentation to the variety to the balance. We were recommended to eat here by a friend and don't regret it. This said, I always prefer to choose my own dishes and to see a menu. I also would prefer fewer soups and a few actual entrees. Loved the food and especially the desserts. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyWe've been looking forward for ages to eat at this
We've been looking forward for ages to eat at this restaurant but was very disappointed with the service. We waited ages between courses and then received two courses together and rushed out without the possibility of tea or coffee. I was even asked to pay the bill in the middle of eating my desert which isn't good enough for a restaurant where we paid almost 4000dkk. Also the waiter presumed that my boyfriend was paying and it was my treat to him. Not cool. All in all disappointing service that couldn't live up to the reputation, food and price. Arrogant head waiter needs more training

Evidently, the first Thai restaurant to get a Michelin Star rating. Absolutely amazing experience/ meal. Top notch staff, choreographed nearly to perfection--and when I say choreographed, I really mean that. There was a lot to manage and check off and it was fascinating watching how the staff worked the food and clientele. You have the option of pairing the meal with juices or wines, and since we had never heard of juice pairing, we did that, and so glad we did! Delightful surroundings and the food was thoughtful, artistically composed, and delectable. It's not that often you get surprised by a meal, but this one was a gastronomic adventure and I will be recommending this to anyone I know heading to Copenhagen! Money-wise: Expensive and worth it.
Be the first to ReplyKiin Kiin is the only Michelin starred restaurant Thai
Kiin Kiin is the only Michelin starred restaurant Thai restaurant outside Thailand. Their impeccable reputation is well deserved. To save some money, we went for the four course early dinner, which still offers most of the Kiin Kiin experience for about half the price. You'll begin your journey in the lounge, where you will be presented with 8 or so amuse bouche dishes that can be enjoyed in a single bite. The dishes, which change nightly, included pork rinds with eggplant curry jam, steamed eggs with miso, lettuce wraps with chopped vegetables, duck sausages with red cabbage, and fish tartare. Don't miss their handmade cocktails. After enjoying the fun bites, we went upstairs for the dinner. The first course consisted of flounder with a green salad and ginger dressing made table side. Then, we had a green curry and cod soup, which was accompanied with Thai eggplant and salt roasted. The next course was steak and squid. The fresh squid was incredibly soft and presented tastefully. My only complaint was that the steak was cut into rather large pieces and it was difficult to chew a piece of steak the size of your palm - apparently the Thai don't use knives and Kiin Kiin stays true to this tradition. For dessert, we were offered banana cake, with shaved coconut and coconut ice cream. It was splendid. As you can imagine, the service was flawless, and I loved the food, particularly how each dish brought different flavors together and allowed the flavors of the ingredients to shine through. Rather than take the wine accompaniment, I tried the juice parings. Each dish came with a fresh delicious choice of juices: jasmine lemonade with the fish, lime and ginger with the soup, red grapefruit with the beef, and cold chai tea with dessert. A trip to Copenhagen isn't complete without a visit to Kiin Kiin.
Be the first to ReplyThis is an amazing restaurant.
May be the best Thai in the world. So amazing we bought their cookbook which is all in English with gorgeous photographs. The food is inventive and very, very unusual. The food is served and presented beautifully. Wish I had my camera with me. Eight or so courses (all small) but you will leave stuffed and happy. Very accommodating to food allergies. It is a 2 and a half our meal and worth every minute of it. Really nice, friendly people. Maybe my favorite meal in Copenhagen.
Be the first to ReplyThis was one of the most amazing dining experiences I've
This was one of the most amazing dining experiences I've had and one of the best meals I've experienced while in Copenhagen. My cousin who lives in CPH had recommended it to me but it was already on my list to try. I've never been to Thailand but I can definitely see why they got their Michelin star. I went for the theater menu which is cheaper than their regular menu but it was still worth it. Definitely dont skimp out on the wine pairing! Although I do not drink, my sister had ordered it and they pair their wines with each course perfectly. If you dont drink alcohol like me, I would suggest the juice pairing. My favorite course was probably the quail tom kha main course. The rice was cooked perfectly, soft and fluffy. As full as I was, I devoured my whole plate. I definitely suggest this to be one of your stops on your food adventure in CPH. I would for sure come back for another meal!

From the moment we sat down in the first room to have incredible snacks we were made to feel special as the meal which is a work of art unfolded in a beautiful ambiance. This is Thai food at a Michelin Star level that is impossible to describe. It course is severed with just an unique twist. Whether it was the noodles you literally squeeze out of a syringe or the foam that melts like cotton candy on your plate, the innovative way each course is prepared and plated and presented is just outstanding. The service, the staff, the quality and presentation of the food has to be experienced. The owner and crew here have really accomplished something extraordinary.
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING.
Simply amazing. You not only get some of the best Thai outside of Thailand, you get an experience. KIIN KIIN is not one to miss and should definitely be on your "must eat" list if you live here or are just visiting. There's a reason it is one of the only Thai restaurants outside of Thailand with a Michellin star.
Be the first to ReplyWe went to this Michelin starred Thai gem - and I don't
We went to this Michelin starred Thai gem - and I don't even care much for Thai food. But the street food appetizers followed by the formal courses were all excellent and so was the service. You may argue that it was not a true Thai restaurant, e.g., it had a Postcard from Tokyo dish. But I fully support trying to give the best experience rather than being 100% Puritan with the concept. Highly recommended
