JitLada is a place everyone can enjoy
You can never go wrong at JitLada. They offer so many interesting and delectable dishes on their extensive menu that there's something everyone can enjoy. This place is an LA institution. Parking can be a bit of challenge but the food makes up for it.
Be the first to ReplyBobby Flay you Let me down!!!
Family of six for my 65th birthday Sunday, October 29. We were the first ones in the door. What a letdown!!! I guess if youโre Bobby Flay you get the beautiful portion size with more than four pieces of protein in the dish. I wish I had taken pictures. From the minute you walk in the door have a look above your head youโll see water damage ceiling dirty and moldy! The place is very cramped and uncomfortable but more importantly the food is really unimpressive. Sorry to be so harsh;Jazz seems like a sweet woman. but the prices are ridiculous for the portion sizes I paid over $10 for steamed rice! Ordered 2 curry dishes that should have come with rice I mean seriously the cost for rice is $.10 a cup why be so greedy!! covid did not just hurt restaurants it hurt all of us and Iโm still not comfortable without a mask in a crowded place but I wanted to try this restaurant so much because of the FLAY coverage. Service was slow our dinners came out one at a time with long wait times between each dish. One dish would not feed six people it did not even feed two people! The chicken satay was very unremarkable the chicken wings were horrible! $19.99 for eight tiny dried up wings! The curry dishes were good but the Penang curry was off. Sorry to say but this was a big let down on a big day for me; wonโt be back. (spent 250.00, 1 beer 2 lemonade, 6 entrรฉes two appetizers)
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best meals ever
It is difficult to describe how wonderful the food was. The flavour of the meals we all had was perfect. We had a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes. The staff were super friendly and helpful. You will love it.

When you arrive at the rather dilapidated parking lot in front of this unassuming restaurant, you wonder if you are in the right place. And if itโs safe to get out of the car. But you are. And it clearly is. This is somewhere to come for the food, not to see and be seen. Donโt expect white linen tablecloths, upholstered chairs or romantic candles. The decor is strictly functional, with walls covered in photos of the many celebrities who have visited. Big menu. Small prices. For example, a side of rice was just $2!!! Our starters (chicken satay and crispy duck rolls in rice paper) were generous and tasty. Main courses were fine - with practice (and we will return) there were probably better choices. But absolutely no complaints. We arrived early on a Monday evening about 5:30pm. By 6pm it was packed. If you like spicy food, this should be on your list.

I had not been to Jitlada for a few years, but I had watched TV as owner, Jazz, won a cooking competition. That prompted me to return. Jazz was just leaving the restaurant when we arrived โ if she had been there, I think the service would not have suffered as it did. Dishes took โforeverโ to come out of the kitchen (the restaurant was full and a server whispered that they only had one cook that Sunday night). The Crispy Morning Glory Salad was, as always, sublime. Lemongrass Shrimp Fried Rice was also very good. The Krachai Crispy Pork was just so-so. We had to try the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert and it was excellent, with an unexpected bit of delicious sauce. Other than the slow service, Jitlada met our usual expectations of great spicy Southern Thai food, except that all prices have risen considerably since our last visit ($6. for a tiny bottle of Singha, etc.).

Our son who lives in LA took us here. DO NOT be put off by the run down strip mall this place sits. This is an award winning restruant that is the most authentic Thai food I have ever had. This is a family owned and run business. We saw the Grandma working the day we ate there. She is famous. Though we got in right away for lunch I have been told people wait an hour to 90 minutes at dinner. Our meal was interest and outstanding. I would tell you what we ate but I am not sure as our son did the ordering and for me this type of Thai food was new to me. You have to go here.

Very extensive menu! Loved all our selections fro the 2 of us: the crispy morning glory salad with shrimp, crab meat and noodle, panany curry with pork ribs. Be aware the food is spicy. Arrived before 5pm on Saturday evening, seated right away. Place was packed with people waiting when we left at 6:30pm. Be prepared to wait for dishes to be cooked from scratch- well worth it. Good service. No room for dessert- next time.
Be the first to ReplyUnassuming yet tantalizing Thai food
Unassuming yet tantalizing food awaits at this Michelin-rated strip mall spot. Even my dad (who isnโt prone to hyperbole) says that this is the best Thai restaurant heโs ever eaten at.
Somehow they manage to get the spice level exactly right. Itโs at the point where you can feel the heat and sweat a little, but itโs not over-the-top. Granted, they do have a spicy challenge and plenty of super spicy options, but there are safe bets as well. The Toong Soong noodles had nicely chewy egg noodles, fresh crisp veggies, and plenty of pork to make this a good meal for two. The Thai iced tea ($4) is small with a lot of ice, but it helps you cool down and is nicely sweet.
Prices are on the higher end, but I still think itโs worth it. They do accept credit cards and even Venmo! Parking is tough since itโs a small lot but there are some metered spots on the street. Theyโre currently open for takeout and delivery during covid (no dine-in, indoor or outdoor). Iโm excited to come back next time to try something else on the extensive menu.
Best Thai In LA
Iโve been desperately craving to get great Thai food and specifically from this spot. Why.... itโs amazing! Even though they delivered, it was too far to my home so I drove an hour roundtrip to pick up this delicious meal and it was still good when I got it home. Traditional Pad Thai on point. Celebrity Chef like a sexier orange chicken, amazing. Tiger beef tender and spicy. Satay yum and the mango sticky rice was perfect. Not too sweet. So going back ASAP. Canโt wait to actually eat at the restaurant again and by the way did I mention this is a celebrity chef owned spot. Chef Jet Tila ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป

It looked like a long wait ahead of us - eight groups on a Sunday evening - fortunately, as a pair we made it in pretty quickly. Huge menu, and everything looked fantastic; the four dishes we had were all excellent.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Service - Altered Credit Card
Went there on December 14th. The service was awful although the food was fine. People lined up in the parking lot and the waiters consciously ignoring our table. It took forever to get the check. In consequence I left a $10 tip on a $90 check. It was a message. Imagine my surprise when I received my credit card bill to discover that the waiter (or someone) increased the tip to $15. Never go back.

If you like spicy, well-cooked food at an unpretentious place. Jitlada is the place. You won't get blown away from the interior, but you might from the huge queue outside.
We went in the evening on the 5th July and the list to sign up already had 77 parties signed up. We had about 5-6 names in front of us but still did not have to wait more than 20 minutes to be seated (party of 2).
Try to other a mix of food, including the duck curry that is delicious.
Delicious Experience
Amazing food and great service at Jitlada. The place was recommended by a local friend and it did not disappoint us. The service was really good too and we could have not been more satisfied with the overall experience. Definitely coming back again in the future!

Excellent food, fast service, great atmosphere! We came on a whim on our trip to LA, after seeing them on Netflix The Chefโs Show

My favorite all time Thai dish is Pad Thai chicken with vegetable rice and I always ask for it spicy. You will find many pictures of famous people on the wall that have eaten here, that's enough to convince you that the food is really good. The portions are kind of small and not cheap but well worth trying out.
