JG Skyhigh Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
Great views, service and food.
However, I came here to say for my anniversary and I marked on my reservation that it was our anniversary as well as told the host that it was our anniversary. Based on the reviews i read I was honestly expecting a complimentary glass of champagne at the end of the meal but didn't get one, which I was a little sad about.
Wonderful service and views
We were staying at the Sofitel and the concierge recommended that we visit SkyHigh to admire the views. We didn't realise it was a stunning bar and restaurant until we got there, with two young children in tow. We didn't have a reservation but Nuri Harris did an incredible job of not only finding us a table, but treating our children wonderfully. This, in turn, made us feel a lot more relaxed and we had a fantastic evening. The food was incredible, as were the cocktails and views. A must see if headed to Philly!
This restaurant was built to impress.
This restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel was made to impress. From the speedy elevator ride from the first floor to the top; to the ceiling mirrors and madness of fresh flowers galore; to the fabulous 360-degree views...and then the food and service which were great too. Our server Theresa (and runners Joey and Lenny) took good care of us and made great recommendations. I had the Spinach Benedict and my husband had the Fried Chicken. I started the meal with a lovely Corn Soup. We finished with a Strawberry Sundae.
Amazing view.
They let you go up the elevator no problem, but you should dress to impress to dine here. The elevator is very fast.?
Went here for a double date.
Reserve a table before coming, otherwise you will be stuck in line, we were escorted skipping the line like VIP :). Anyway, the view and the atmosphere makes you feel like great Gatsby lol. The food is very good. The drinks are okay and very expensive. 30$ for a cocktail. But again, they gotta pay the bills. Service was alright. Had to wait pretty long for drinks. Food wait time was fine. Dj music was great. If you're cheap, this ain't the place for you. You will spend about easy $200 for 2 people. But the view is amazing, so keep in mind you are not just paying for food and service, it's the view!
Was there for an early birthday dinner (5:15P).
The views are truly spectacular. Although the bar area is far too small for a bistro-ish spot, the design and layout of the space makes every table a "good" table in this airy and spacious setting. This alone is something to see. But I'd suggest just having a drink and an appetizer while taking time to enjoy the views and go somewhere else for dinner. It just isn't worth the $$$. The food is far from the quality which should normally be associated with a Four Season Hotel. The best way to describe it is like a slightly better than average international business class airline meal with the usual standard over salted fare. And if you do go, don't bother worrying about dressing up as "suggested" on the website. I mean don't wear flip flops but there were plenty of people in shorts and pullovers to make feel me foolish for bothering to wear a jacket.
So surprised by this place.
Of course, the space itself is great, as practically every review indicates. However, the service was incredibly slow, although all the servers were quite polite. The food and drinks were also very mediocre, I've had better at a local pub. We got the broccoli dip, burrata, salmon, truffle pizza, and burger. The truffle pizza was delicious as were the fries that came with the burger. The burger itself was over cooked, dry, and overly sour from the in-house pickles. (And I love pickles.) Everything else was shockingly under par for a Jean-Georges restaurant and for the prices. It was a special occasion and I felt a little badly for those we were with. The worst part of the evening though, was the noise level. There was a DJ and we were seated by the speaker. We asked if the volume could be turned down a little and were told it wasn't possible as the volume level was set so the downstairs level could also hear the music. You'd think a location like this would have given more thought to acoustics and overall dining experience. Strange.
I dream about their salmon dish.
The scenery was great, fine and dandy but that salmon dish...run don't walk here...immediately! As a pescatarian it was one of the best dishes I have ever had, everything, including the broccolini, was seasoned to perfection. I don't know how the chef made the black bean vinaigrette but I dream about that sauce, it was amazing.

Great tasting food and cocktails, staff is friendly but a little slow with service, wonderful ambiance
Truly delicious meal! The black truffle and fontina cheese
Truly delicious meal! The black truffle and fontina cheese pizza stole the show. The crispy calamari was also particularly interesting and flavorful. As expected, given the long elevator ride to get to the restaurant, the view from the restaurant is EXCELLENT! Looking forward to returning.
Stunning views and great food and service
I have had lunch at Skyhigh three times. The views on a clear day are wonderful and the seating is modern and comfortable. The restaurant offers a choice of a set lunch menu of two or three courses, or you can order individual dishes. All three of my meals were excellent and the service was attentive and professional. Ordering a la carte can keep the cost under control, but for my last lunch I ordered three courses off the price fix menu - expensive, but every dish was great, with a great presentation. The good news is that there is no music or other noisy background to interfere in your ability to talk to your guests. However, for private meetings, note that based on the size of your group and seating arrangements, you may be seated near enough to other diners where you can hear the other diners' conversation and they can hear yours.
I have been wanting to dine here for some time.
.. I made reservations online for 3; the day of the reservation, the other 2 in my party arrived on time but I was about 5 minutes late because I was looking for parking but when I made it inside I was alerted that the restaurant was running behind, which wasn't a problem because I was able to take in the beautiful view of the city from the restaurant lobby while waiting - our wait (from the time I arrived was less than 10 minutes). We were seated in the main dining area and our waitress came to our table less than 5 minutes after we were seated; me and another person in my party ordered the salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and broccolini and the other person in my party ordered a salad (I think it was a kale salad) and a spinach pizza (there was something else on the pizza that I can't recall). It didn't take our entrees long to come out and we all enjoyed our food - so much that we all cleaned our plates; the portion sizes were perfect. We also ordered dessert - the chocolate cake, which was served with a scoop of ice cream, that was delicious too (we all ordered the same dessert). I don't recall the reason why but oddly, 2 of the desserts came out at the same time and the 3rd seemed to take about 20 minutes - we cleaned our dessert plates too. Because of the delay on the 3rd dessert, we were comped on all 3 - nit expected but appreciated as the ice cream started to melt a little for the 2 of us that waited. Overall, I definitely recommend this place - it is definitely a gem in the city: the crowd was good, the atmosphere of the restaurant is casually upscale, the service was pretty good as well as the food. To optimize the beautiful views (especially if you're trying to set a mood or impress someone), I recommend making your reservation just before the sun sets.
Awesome food and great views of the city.
Great service and ambiance as well. Especially loved the offerings. Will come back !
Simply wow!
The views from this place is absolutely stunning, must be experienced. We had drinks sitting in the lower part of the restaurant/bar and service was impeccable and the wine/drink list left nothing to ask for. An experience I will cherish for a long time.
Fantastic views
Absolutely delightful for a girls night out. It's hard to get hold of them for reservations. Try open table but it's limited to the number of people. We enjoyed beautiful views and met some fun people at the bar. The orchids are gorgeous. You have to get into a line at the elevator. Typical Philly fashion the employee helping with line up is obnoxious.
Fantastic!!!
Beautiful room! Was cloudy so no view from dining room but glass elevator gave a nice vantage point for a bit. Service was great, food was delicious. Reasonably priced breakfast. Overall special experience!!! Highly recommend
Ambiance!
Excellent ambiance. I love the view of the City that you get from this establishment. You are truly up sky high! The elevator almost feels like a ride. The drinks are well-crafted. The menu items are bursting with flavor, we ordered pizza and white fish(I can’t remember if it was sea bass or some other white fish but it was excellent).
Fabulous!
Heirloom tomato and summer fruit salad was very nice. The Yellowfin Tuna tartare was exquisite, with avocado, radish, ginger dressing, chili oil. The pepper crusted beef tenderloin was superbly cooked and very tasty; and the rigatoni with meatballs could not have been better. Server was perfect; view was to die for.
