Best Korean Food we've had
Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. A serious adventure for the pallet across an 8 course tasting menu. My wife and I were lucky to choose the wine pairing menu and it fully lived up to what you would expect. All the staff are incredibly knowledged about all of the items they serve and that only adds to the overall experience. 10/10 hands down.
Be the first to ReplyHigh-end Korean cuisine in a modern setting
We have eaten at Jeong prior to the Covid pandemic when an a la carte menu was still available and selected their tasting menu; it was an excellent meal and we resolved to come back. It took a few years but we returned with high expectations. This time Jeong offers only an 8-course tasting menu. The first 4 were seafood - mussels, salmon scallops, skate - followed by bibimbap and wagyu beef. We did not choose their wine pairing, drinking cocktails and white wine instead. We dined in a very contemporary yet welcoming setting but it was the service that elevated the already excellent food. Jeong is most definitely worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplySuperb experience - one of the best meals Iโve had in a long time
Chicago friends took us here and it was one of the best meals weโd had in a long time. My husband and I are pescatarians so they had to modify a couple of dishes and swap out one beef dish for a different fish dish than we already had. Everything was done superbly. The service was great, the ambiance was lovely and everything we had, including the cocktail and the mocktail I had after it, were delicious. The scallop was one of the best things Iโve ever eaten!
Be the first to ReplyCharming and welcoming modern take on Korean tasting menu
Jeong is a Modern Korean tasting menu. Owned and operated by a husband and wife team in their 20's. They are incredibly talented and their welcoming customer approach is second to none. Dinner there is light, elegant and not overly long. Delicious and inventive. A great modern adaptation on the tasting menu thing which broadens their appeal and clientele. Very wine friendly. They are some of the friendliest and warmest people I know. Worth a stop.

Really enjoyed this experience. Our kids brought us here for a gift and it did not disappoint. Unpretentious service, relaxed atmosphere and each dish was great along with a fantastic wine pairing. Most tasting menus have one or two things you donโt like but our group of six couldnโt decide which course was best. Would love to go back.
Be the first to ReplyNice place, but a bit overhyped
We wanted to try this restaurant for a while, this is a hard reservation to get, especially on weekends. We liked the place, but it was not a wow for us. It was more like a nicely crafted dinner, rather than something inventive. For an example - everyone raves about their salmon tartare... It was nice, but every sushi restaurant makes salmon tartare, one way or another. A duck with kimchi was a star dish for us, a nice mix of flavors, but the rest were more common. Portions are very small too, even for this type of restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, Unpretentious Asian Experience
I was never able to get into chef's unique western suburban location before he moved, but this place is fantastic. You will be enveloped by the dining room decorated in a serene Asian palate the moment you sit down. Sit back and enjoy the multi-course tasting menu brought by an engaging, friendly staff who, unfortunately, kept their masks on when describing the food, which sometimes made it difficult to hear what we were eating or drinking.. I recommend adding the wine pairings as the dinner features a multitude of different flavors and textures. You WILL have a favorite, but I cannot tell you what it will be. You just need to come here and try it out.
Be the first to ReplyStunning Korean-Inspired 9-Course Tasting Menu
Apparently Jeong moved to a tasting menu when they reopened after the pandemic and honestly, I hope they never go back to an a la carte menu. This tasting menu was devine! Korean-inspired dishes for nine-courses and all were delicious. Our favorite was the salmon tartar, followed by the scallop and the rib eye in broth. This isnโt your โtypicalโ Korean restaurant - you will find it elegant and Michelin-star quality. The owner has done an excellent job of socially distancing tables (there were only 7 tables in the restaurant) and we felt very safe eating out. There is a delicious wine pairing available that has a nice mix of white, sake and reds to compliment each course. We will be back - thank you Jeong!!!

This town has good food. And Jeong is superlative. Each dish was so flavorful. And theyโre not afraid of bringing the heat (perfect use of gochujang in everything from cocktails to sashimi). I never understood my husbandโs love of sauces until tonight. From front door through table, the service is fantastic: professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Sake selection is fantastic, dessert was delectable and ambience canโt be beat. Itโs a funny corner entrance, so you might itโs initially. Very โspeakeasyโ in front door vibe.

I wanted to treat my sister to one of Chicago's hottest restaurants. Happily Jeong is on Open Table. It is a lovely, modern space in the Noble Square area in the rapidly gentrifying West side. The service was excellent and friendly. There is a tasting menu, wine-pairing available, and an a la carte menu. We order a la carte so that we could try the Mandu pork-and-kimchi -dumplings and Tteokbokki rice cakes (these have a chili kick). . We also enjoyed the sashimi (with sesame chojang dressing) and the grits with duck confit and seaweed. For dessert we had the chocolate cake with ice cream; and the mochi with hi-chews and grapefruit sorbet. There are cocktails, wine, and a nice selection of tea.Parking was easy to find on the street, and we felt safe walking in the neighborhood. The ambiance is friendly, relaxed, and young. It was the only "foodie" restaurant that I've seen with families. I recommend Jeong for a new taste experience - Chicago is a big place with a lot of great food. I'm looking forward to trying the tasting menu, the short ribs, and the cod.

We just did the spectacular tasting menu. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented. We highly recommend an experience at Jeong.
Be the first to ReplyA return visit
We enjoyed every single thing about our first meal at Jeong last spring and left greatly impressed. This time, while everything we ordered was good, we were not blown away.
We probably should have had the $87 tasting meal; most other patrons were having it. But for some reason it just did not appeal to us. Out of the a la carte offerings we did order, we thought the kampachi crudo was the best dish; with pickled watermelon, it was delicious. The pork and kimchi dumplings (3 to an order) were also good. The pressed duck confit main course with grits was not a stand-out: too salty. The strawberry nougatine dessert, while exquisite, was not bursting with flavor.
As before, service was smooth and friendly, the plating was beautiful, portions were small, the atmosphere was enjoyable, the noise level allowed for easy conversation and it was easy to find street parking within a block of the restaurant.
As we left, I asked whether the tasting menu would change. I was told that the chef intends to change it seasonally but so far has only switched out the first course.

I'm raving about Jeong. The space, the service, the cocktails, the food, the experience -- it was all incredibly enjoyable. My favorites were the salmon tartare, the kalbi beef, and the rice dessert. I already looking forward to returning for another dinner! :)

We managed to get two last minute seats following a cancellation...we were really lucky to dine in this very elegant and sophisticated restaurant. Every dish was delicious, cocktails were a Korean twist on traditional ones. Service impeccable and price reasonable considering the food quality.
