Obviously, this place is amazing.
Do I really need to write a review? I have to write another few sentences because this was too short have the steak any steak.
Food was great! Ambiance of the old house is awesome.
Service was on point. The only downside was several men were wearing ball caps and collarless shirts. They need to enforce a dress code. We recently went to the Greyhound Tavern and everyone was dressed in business casual as a minimum.
Anniversary dinner.
We've been here a lot. Pretty disappointed. We had a 5:30 reservation. Ordered drinks that were very good. We ordered a bunch of seafood appetizers. Seemed like the shrimp was left over from the day before. It was tough and the ends looked old. The oysters were mushy, grainy and very small. Not fresh. The crab leg was very good. We ordered salads. My wife had the new watermelon salad and it was very good. I had the Caesar and there was no anchovy which I wanted but tasted good. My New York strip was cooked medium rare as ordered. My wife's ribeye was ordered medium rare+ and came out very rare and had to send it back. Another table behind us sent theirs back too. The bacon on my wife's potato was so burnt it was bad. The woman who was the GM that night came back with my wife's steak asked her to cut into it and then left without saying sorry or even conversing. Remember the old Ruby days when the GM was visible & spoke to you? Server was great and they were accommodating to my wife's food allergies. But a $500 dinner with a bottle of wine it was subpar for Ruby Restaurants. Will pass on this location.
We recently celebrated a friends group dinner at C&J.
As usual, the food and service was amazing. We always look forward to each dining experience at Ruby's Establishments.

Situated in a historical mansion on Montgomery Road, I chose this for an anniversary dinner. The inside is low lighting with The God Father related decor all around. I've always heard such great things about Jeff Ruby restaurants in the Cincinnati area. To just keep it short and sweet, their service is phenomenal, the steaks are really good. For side, what stuck out to me was their mac and cheese. I tasted caramelized onions (but no texture), there were definitely hints of dried mustard, and the roux was well made. It is VERY rich but as a fellow lactose-intolerant girlie, it was worth it. They gave us a sample of their butter pie and wowww I almost wanted to order an additional slice. It almost felt like a cake and there was literally nothing wrong with it. Would I go again? Yes but sparingly due to the price point. I don't need an amazing steak everyday but for that special occasion, I will definitely consider this place.
Decide to treat my wife here for her birthday dinner.
What a wonderful experience Sarah our server was very helpful and answer all my question on recommendation. I ordered the 16 oz boneless ribeye medium well and my wife ordered a petite filet.The appetizer the fried artichoke was wonder.I must say I would definitely return

Attentive service and apps and steak were amazing. Ordered cocktails and wine and nice place to relax and have an enjoyable meal. Came recommended and left satisfied!
OVERRATED
This place is so overrated. My family had dinner for my grandsons birthday. My wife had the seabass, and she said she would have sent it back if it wasn't my grandsons birthday. I had the barrel cut filet. $80.00 I'm telling you right now the steak is so much better at Longhorn (flos filet) 1/3 of the cost for a full meal. Elcoyote the steak has much better flavor at 1/2 the cost. Chefs table Beltera park 1/2 the cost. The mushrooms had no flavor. (Sucked) The only thing that was a wow. The water and the corn. Do not waste your money on this overrated tourist trap.

Carlo and Johnny has long been a favorite spot for special occasions. Never again. When we arrived, the parking lot was more full than usual (and it's always full). We had a reservation for 7:15, and when we walked into the reception area, it was as packed as a Taylor Swift concert. We were advised that they were "running behind." Sorry, what's the point of "reservations" again? And then there are the VIPs. A group of 10 rolled in with no reservation (we know because they were loud about it. They were loud about everything else as well - more on that later) and were promptly seated while we peasants waited, long past our reservation time. We were finally seated 48 minutes after our "reservation." We were a table away from the VIPs, who were by then on their second course. Eventually, we got water and bread, and our drink orders taken. Eventually. Our server was excellent. We know that, because we observed him serving the VIP table. However, he was pathetic at best in serving us, and as far as we could tell, the other tables he was assigned to. When the manager asked about our experience, we told him frankly (but politely). He took about 50% off our bill, which we appreciated. Did it help our bank account? Sure. Did it salvage the experience? No. Also, what's up with the open bowl of jelly beans in the reception area? That's so gross. There's a spoon, but more than one person DUG THEIR HANDS INTO IT. And while we were waiting (endlessly) for our table, a couple of other prospective diners were considering them. I noted "You know people have been sneezing on those all day?" They opted not to sample the jelly beans. Is this not a health code violation? And if it's not, shouldn't it be? And what's up with that weird portrait of Jeff Ruby behind the reception desk? It's terrible and so, so weird. Has it always been there? No idea. But this time I had 48 minutes to study it. Jeff Ruby used to be known for great food and great experience. Now it's a blot on our special occasion memories together. We're never going back.
The Perfect Anniversary Dinner
My wife and I celebrated our 51st anniversary with a dinner at Jeff Ruby's Carlo & Johnny restaurant. It was probably the most enjoyable dining experience we have ever had. We were seated immediately, the food was delicious, our server Megan was fantastic, the manager chatted with us for a while, and the atmosphere in this old mansion was amazing. I had a Caesar salad, a strip steak with fingerling potatoes in a rich truffle sauce, and the butter pie. My wife had a Caesar salad, a ribeye steak with creamed spinach, and the creme brulee. Every bite of both meals was perfect. We are now looking forward to our next anniversary dinner there.

The ambiance was pleasant, but we had a 20-25 minute wait, despite having reservations (there seemed to be a lot going on at the hostess desk). The crab cake is delicious and would happily recommend to anyone! However the steaks weren't seasoned well and the mashed potatoes had a lot of garlic salt added. Truth be told, we've had better food at lesser steak houses for half the price. Their butter pie cheesecake dessert was phenomenal as well! They did do a complimentary photo (which was very sweet) and brought out some Prosecco and dessert for our anniversary celebration - we thought this was a wonderful touch. While everyone was very kind and accommodating, I don't know that we'd go back. The service was wonderful, but the food (for the most part) seems to be living on popularity & hype.

Shout out to Ashlee who helped us out with our large party reservations. And thank you Adrian for wonderful service - the food was awesome - the location is beautiful. It was a perfect day. Thank you to the entire staff for making our occasion extra special.
Fantastic dining experience
We were in Cincinnati for my birthday and had booked with Carlo & Johnny based on TripAdvisor lists of great restaurants in Cincy. We were not disappointed! Our dinner was fabulous. We split the crab bisque and each portion was as big as an individual portion in other restaurants. It was delicious. We both had boneless ribeyes, which were fantastic, and we had roasted carrots and brussel sprouts. The steaks were the best I've had in quite a while, but dessert may have trumped them. I had butter pie with their homemade cookies & cream ice cream. The ice cream was to die for, and the pie was also fantastic. My husband had ricotta donuts, which he loved. The place is deceptively large, but you still have some privacy, and our server was great. We would absolutely go back.
Disappointed
We ate there tonite. Cocktails and wine great, salad was ok. Our steaks were ok, my wife had a less than stellar filet, some stuff, tendons in filet that were almost uncuttable. The sides were supposedly served on really hot plates that were not hot. Have eaten there before BUT this experience will not make us want to come back. We have eaten at many Ruby steakhouses, this was our first disappointment. Service was great but food did not equal the price point tonite.

What has happened to Carlo and Johnny? Second time in a row thoroughly not great. When we arrived there were 6 young hostesses hovered over the hostess stations. The dresses on several were very very short. Our server was not very attentive-he was serving a large party in a private room so that could have been part of the slow service. His helper was pretty good. We came for the lobster filet mignon special as we did last time we came, and I almost feel that they don't treat the customers ordering the special the same as if we ordered off the main menu. I ordered the raw oysters-they were good. The bread/butter basket is always yummy. Last time we ordered the special the Freddy salad was wilted so we ordered the dressing on the side which made the salad delicious. The filet was nothing special but the lobster was good. The comped us a round of drinks for the slow service when we mentioned this to the manager. They provided us with birthday bites compliments of the house however the chocolate chip cookie was dry as was thel little bite of the butter cake which we typically love. The cheesecake bite was yummy. For the price of our meal I don't know if I'll be back. Fixed my hometown. I live in Cinci-this review has the wrong hometown.
My family and I came for the lobster and filet special.
The food was fantastic, however the service was above and beyond. The hosts are very welcoming, and you are greeted by every employee as you walk to your table. Our server Joe was amazing! Kind, attentive, generous, respectful, and very funny. I couldn't ask for more! You can't beat the food, but you are definitely paying for the experience. Everyone we interacted with ensured we had a great time. Even walking to the restroom, the employees are eager to assist you. Not to mention the restaurant is beautiful. You can't go wrong with a single thing on the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. Truly a five star establishment!

Our server was Jack and he was attentive without hovering. He gave the best recommendations and we loved our dinner. Between our server and the ambiance the dinner was a 5 star experience.
What can I say about any of Jeff's steakhouses.
They truly do have the best steaks in the mid west. Each location has a distinct atmosphere. This location is in the era of the speakeasys. A classy staff and just excellent service. Valet parking or park yourself.

Was fortunate to have a work celebration dinner at Carlo & Jonny on Tuesday 1/16. Even a Tuesday night in January on a very cold night was extremely busy. Overall the service was excellent as you would expect at a Jeff Ruby steakhouse. Adrian our server did a nice job. The food was very good. Nice to see sushi on the menu. It was a nice place to start. I had the Burrow which is the blackened New York strip with creole topping. It was delicious! We shared the brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese, and mushrooms which were all good. We finished the night off with the butter pie and dark chocolate cake. Oh my they were very good. A couple of issues to note that kept this from being a five star review. Actually I would have given a 3.5 star review if possible. The dining room we were seated in was extremely drafty. Eventually we had to cover the fire place opening with a tablecloth to stop the cold air from freezing us. While the staff apologized and said the fireplace was to be fixed later in the week this is unacceptable for a restaurant like Carlo & Johnny. It would have been nice to see the manager come over and apologize. The other couple of issues were regarding drinks. I ordered a signature cocktail called "Snowing in Mexico" and the server came back and said that was no longer available. We also ordered a bottle of Quilceda Creek week that they did not have. While I know it can be challenging to manage a list with this many options you are a high end restaurant. You may want to consider trimming the options and make sure you have what is on the list in stock. While we did pivot and had a couple bottles of the Darioush Caravan it would be great not wasting time picking a wine that is not available.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary here on Dec 29th, our 1st time. From the moment we walked in until we left, we felt special. Clint stopped by with 2 champagne flutes and welcomed us. We had mentioned it was our 50th in the reservation. The ambiance was excellent. Our server, Adrian, took great care of us. Very helpful with the menu and making suggestions, including the barrel-aged Manhattan. We split a Freddie salad, enjoyed the warm bread & butter, split a classic creamed spinach, I had the Anthony Munoz filet, my wife the steak Diane filet. The food was delightful, probably the best filets we've had, cooked the way we ordered, medium. We were not hurried, Adrian checked on us several times, as did Clint. We split the butter pie Ala mode with coffee for dessert, also delightful. The whole experience was befitting a 50th anniversary dinner celebration. Highly recommend this superb dining experience for a special celebration. We'll be back. Clint also spoke to us as we left.

My husband & I went there recently and it could've been better. Service was slow but passable. He got the Cowboy Rib eye and I got the Boneless Ribeye. We both asked for medium+ doneness. That seemed right. However, they were a bit tough. We both agreed it seemed like the quality of the steaks has gone down. A lower quality but at the same high pricing. Anyway, we couldn't finish our food so we took home leftovers. We went straight home and put the containers in the fridge. Only two (2) days later we both heated up our food for dinner. My husbands steak had a bad taste. Went in the trash. By the way, this was not our first visit... But we agreed it would be our last.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
