Jean-Georges Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
Last month, my husband surprised me with dinner at
Last month, my husband surprised me with dinner at Jean-Georges to celebrate my birthday. He requested the table by the window with the sunset view. We get to eat yummy food and have THE best view in the city? This was definitely one of my best birthdays ever. Being here, on the 60th floor of the Comcast Building, it doesn't quite feel like I was in Philly anymore. It wasn't until our server brought over a scrumptious selection of bread, including the two cutest lil pretzels (as a homage to our city), that I was reminded of where we were. Every single dish we ate from the six-course tasting menu was innovative, delicious, well thought out, and beautifully executed. The only dish that we did not like as much was the roasted black sea bass, but only because everything else was so good. I also cannot give enough praise to the chefs on how cohesive and not random the tasting menu was. Many restaurants in the city make the mistake of not having a cohesive tasting menu. Jean-Georges is easily the best restaurant in Philly. The only restaurant that even comes close to Jean-Georges' culinary level is probably La Croix. Service was top notch, too. The staff are well-trained, professional, and hold themselves to the highest standard. Alas, we concluded our six-course meal with the final course, which was a delicious chocolate, passion fruit dessert. But dinner was not quite over! Our server brought over a small birthday cake on the house. And then shortly after, another staff member swings by with a cart of post-dinner sweets to complete the Jean-Georges experience. There was not one single second of this I did not enjoy. We can't wait to be back again.

The food was not worth the money, the music played was meant for a disco bar and not a fine-dining establishment, and every time something was delivered to the table the item and its description was read aloud to the party. For close to $500 with tip, I would expect better. Also, why are credit/debit cards processed at the table?
I had a hard time landing on a rating for this restaurant
I had a hard time landing on a rating for this restaurant because the food is certainly good, truthfully it's the price point that lowered my overall score. Here's the number one feature of this place: the view. The location and atmosphere was absolutely stunning there is not a doubt about it. On the flip side, this is what you're paying for. The menu and food was about what you would expect from a fine dining establishment. While we liked our meals and have no outright complaints, for the price point we were not totally blown away. The portions are also incredibly small. We did not do the tasting menu, just ordered from the normal menu, but we honestly left hungry. This would be a wonderful place for a happy hour or a small appetizer but I do not think we would do the entire experience again just simply based off the price versus value of the food.
Really 3.
5 stars. Service was amazing! But the food was mediocre to decent. We did the tasting menu, and as several of the reviewers have mentioned, food was majorly oversalted at times and at others, incredibly bland and/or sour. We enjoyed the amuse bouche but our pastries were stale (I still ate them, but unspectacular), risotto was sour and frankly unappealing, and several of the fish dishes were incredibly bland. Dessert was great. Dishes all were presented beautifully. Our server was super thoughtful and took great care of us, and the views and ambiance were spectacular. So in summary, go for experience, but have low expectations of the food.

Vegetarian perspective First, I was thrilled they had a vegetarian tasting menu. Some courses were good, some were flavorless or not exciting. I love exploring vegan food and was just hoping to really be blown away by creative vegetarian options here. While some were creative in presentation, I was really upset that the flavor and bigger creativity was lacking in some. Compared to other vegan places I've been. For this price and this name, I was expecting each dish to be memorable. The views were incredible and the service was probably the most memorable part. She was great! Plus all the small touches. Birthday dessert, to-go bag with a breakfast pastry, exchanging cocktails, etc.
A bit more care on the food balance and would be remarkable
Wonderful location, the view is incredible. Very good table service, waiters always prepared and very careful. The menu is interesting (also with some italian contamination), with fresh ingredients: the flavours tend a bit too much towards the international cusine, spoiling a bit the taste (e.g. the octopus was excellent exept for a dressing that was way too acid and hence overwhelming for the whole dish). Good wine list. Overall a good experience.
The view was beautiful and the sunset was lovely to have
The view was beautiful and the sunset was lovely to have during the meal. I ate here with a tasting meal for an event so I can't speak to the value but the portions were generous for a tasting menu. We had a custard type dish served in a shell, scallop crudite, fresh pasta with truffle, fish with parsnip and greens, steak, and floral dessert. Presentation was pretty but didn't have a ton of seasoning/flavor. The pasta was fresh but did kind of taste of fettuccini Alfredo you can make at home. My favorite piece was the greens served with the fish. Service was really lovely and I would come for the views alone, but I imagine it is an expensive meal.
The food was delicious and wait staff .
..perfect! How beautiful the restaurant is and exudes the best of everything.
Restaurant worthy of a date ❤️
Incredible restaurant, with a wonderful view of the city, we were very well served, all the waiters were super attentive, the food maybe I didn't choose correctly, I ate deer meat maybe I should have chosen something different I would enjoy it better, but I intend to go back to the place, photos were taken beautiful

The three stars is simply for the ambiance, the views, and the amazing service we received. The food was horrifying, the lobster was not cooked throughly and the sea bass was lack luster. But again, the views are definitely worth seeing for yourself, such a beautiful restaurant, I wish the food matched.
Stopped by Jean-Georges before hitting the spa.
We were supposed to have dinner but ended up only getting a desert. The ambiance at 930p was great, not too crowded and the view is amazing. Menu looked interesting so i can't wait to try again
Birthday Lunch
Wonderful Food Awesome Scenery. Fabulous Service Stephen our waiter was fantastic and very helpful. We had cod, salmon, Squash soup all excellent
Staff is incredibly rude and the views are always
Staff is incredibly rude and the views are always obstructed by obnoxious and incompetent individuals that aren't even dressed to the proper attire requirements. Menu is extremely limited and overwhelming overpriced for the microscopic portions that you receive. Don't waste your time at this wanna be restaurant!!!

If you're ever in Philly, you definitely need to make reservations at this restaurant! The service was amazing, the ambiance was stunning, and the food was to die for! Especially the sea bass. I could've at like 10 of those plates! Thanks again to all the staff I encountered! Jean, Maxwell, Rosie, Nick, and Berto! (Sorry for any incorrect spellings). See you guys next time!
A Must Do in Philly
I had a fantastic time at JG SkyHigh, the restaurant/bar atop the swanky Four Seasons Hotel. It’s worth a visit alone for the awe inspiring, turbo charged glass elevator ride, which fires you up 60 floors to the gloss & gleam of JG Vongerichten. Once there, it’s a stunning, airy space of wraparound glass, with THE most amazing views in the city. Food was delicious, & given the high end surroundings, I didn’t think, hideously expensive. Service was speedy, polished & free of pomp. You can come for breakfast, lunch, supper or just drinks & snacks. Food was delicious.
Amazing anniversary dinner, highly recommended
9/10. Ambience and views are outstanding. The food was excellent, with a varied selection for the 6 course tasting menu (which ended up really as 9 courses). Service was friendly and the meal was served at the correct pace. Some of the wine pairings had a great stories, but lacked in quality. Still, a highly recommended dining experience in Philadelphia, easily equivalent to the flagship New York restaurant where we have dined many times.
I saw an episode on YouTube of Joshua Weissman and JG
I saw an episode on YouTube of Joshua Weissman and JG cooking challenge then i realized i havent finished writing my review here, so Im here to finish what i started. My cousin was visiting from Chicago and i wanted to take her somewhere special and get some good views and photos while we were at it. I've been here at least 2 times already prior to this visit, so it was certainly an experience i wanted to share. I was carefully planning to arrive early enough to have seating without a reservation and still be able to experience the sunset. Chester was very welcoming and he showed me around and got my promptly seated at a beauutiful spot that overlooks the bar and the scenic view. Drew was my server and he was very attentive and accommodating. If your guest doesnt drink, they can actually make mocktails for you - its not on the menu, but you can actually tell your waiter what flavor you want it to be and what you want mixed into it. Same thing for cocktails - name it, they can make it. The food was delicious and very presentable. The flavors were very distinct and you can taste everything it was cooked with. Its not overpowering. It is to my liking. It was like a work of art. I had the great opportunity to meet and shake hands with Alessandro Picardi, the assistant general manager of their establishment. I had to share with him my praises for their quality and overall great service. It was a very unique experience, highly recommended and definitely worth a visit with your special friends, family and loved ones.
First off, the views are just incredible.
On the 59th floor of the Four Seasons hotel, which is the tallest building in Philly, you can't get any better views than that. We went at 2.30pm after lunch and before dinner so it was a light bites menu. We got to see 360 degrees view of the city during daytime, sunset and the city lights at night. The elevator up to JG was definitely a ride and an experience. The decor as you enter during the holiday season is just prestigious looking and the interior decor was beautiful, especially with the reflective ceiling mirrors. Now for the food, we had the hash brown caviar, kale salad with salmon, sea trout crispy rice and wagyu cheesesteak spring rolls. The $68 caviar hash brown was good but definitely not with the price. I thought we would at least get a few pieces of hash brown but it was just one small piece. I did like the soft and flaky hash brown but I've never understood the priciness of caviar. The cheesesteak spring roll was good though the meat was rarer than I expected. I'm used to normal medium rare wagyu but didn't expect for the spring roll to have that though. It had a light cheese inside and personally I prefer it that way. It came with a very vinegary tomato chutney type of condiment which was good but I ate that separately instead of combining it with the spring r The kale salad was refreshing and had a light drizzle of dressing. We added the salmon to it and that was cooked pretty well and soft and flakey. The sea trout crispy rice wasn't as crispy but I didn't mind the less crispy texture. The sea trout tasted like spicy tuna but with a stronger flavour. However, I've had better crispy rice tbh. Overall, definitely an experience to have. Reservations are hard to get for lunch or dinner. The downstairs bar area open just after 5pm.
First the view is spectacular.
Second the tasting menu was phenomenal, supported by a great personal (Jean-Paul and Michael to name a few) The chef is very innovative and the harmony she introduce in her creation is awesome. A palate explosion!
I've been to Jean-Georges Philadelphia twice.
The first time with my wife for brunch just prior to the pandemic, and recently with my parents and wife for dinner. They offer valet parking for $35. The elevator ride to the top of the building is an experience in itself and I suggest you go during daytime to take in the views. I also suggest you request a seating arrangement near a window so you can take it all in while you're there. The service is top notch although you should plan on being there several hours if your selecting from the tasting menu. My one nit is the food we had for our dinner experience. When we had our brunch everything was amazing, the flavor profiles were all very interesting, and it all just tasted superb. During our dinner, a lot of the items tasted bland, and others were extremely over salted. Like over salted to a point where they shouldn't have been served. Dessert was good though. Can't go wrong with sugar. Ambiance is half the price of the meal. Who knows what rent is at that location. They need to get their seasoning right though if your gonna charge a thousand dollars for four people for dinner!
Excellent experience
Excellent dinner. !st time at a JG restaurant. Served several of his classic dishes. Service was impeccable. Great wine list with several at reasonable prices. View is spectacular . Highly recommend!!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
