Javier's Restaurant - Irvine Reviews from The Last Year
Elevated Mexican Food ? That is somewhat of a stretch .
.the ambience and decor I can say elevated but the food itself is comparable to a local taco stand which are ubiquitous in this area. Pulpo ceviche , fresh guacamole is what was ordered this time. The ceviche itself is indistinguishable from any that you could get at any local Mariscos place. Guacamole was good but again nothing that speaks "elevated." The only thing here elevated was the prices. Service is slow and even slower for food to come out . This one is a pass for me next time.
Our server was awesome.
Very attentive. Food was good. Drinks were yummy. The atmosphere is really nice. Get there early though cause you will be waiting just a bit because it's a very popular place.
What is it to say about this magical place.
The location between Newport and Laguna and the view over the Pacific Ocean is just perfect. The Mexican food has been elevated to a level that I've never seen before (I'm Mexican). Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. The service is beyond excellent. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's a very busy place; so, make reservations before you go. Enjoy!
Javier's is really good! It can be a bit over-priced, but
Javier's is really good! It can be a bit over-priced, but the ambiance and service usually make up for it. The chips and salsa are 10/10, too! The habanero salsa is extra $, but it's really great and spicy if you're into that.
Our experience was wonderful at Javier's.
We came for lunch around 11:30am on a Saturday without a reservation, and they were able to seat us right away. We ordered the Cabo Azul and a combo platter. The Cabo Azul was worth trying again! Generous portions of lobster, crab, and shrimp, and the sauces were delicious as well.
We recently celebrated my lovely wife's birthday at
We recently celebrated my lovely wife's birthday at Javier's, which used to be one of her favorite restaurants. Our evening started off at the Newport Beach location, but it was incredibly crowded. When I asked the front desk for a nice table with a view, we were rudely told that it could take up to two hours to get what we wanted. This lack of customer service was disappointing, so we decided to try our luck at the Irvine location instead. The Irvine location was much better in terms of service. Check-in was smooth, and we were seated without any waiting time. The ambiance was pleasant, which set a nice tone for the evening. We ordered some drinks and guacamole for an appetizer. For the main entrees, my wife chose her favorite steak Picado, and I opted for the enchiladas de Mariscos. While the chips and salsa were complimentary, and we appreciated the free flan for my wife's birthday, the overall dining experience was underwhelming. The portions were small relative to the high prices, which didn't seem justified. My seafood entree was overly salty and unenjoyable, which was quite disappointing for a place that prides itself on fine dining. For dessert, we ordered a tres leches cake in addition to the complimentary flan. Both desserts were decent, but not enough to elevate the overall dining experience. The check came to nearly $300 for four people, which seemed excessive given the quality and portion sizes of the food. In summary, while Javier's offers a nice ambiance, the food and service at the Newport Beach location left much to be desired. The Irvine location was better in terms of service but still did not meet our expectations for the price. Unfortunately, Javier's is no longer a highly recommended place on our list. We were left feeling that we were paying more for the experience rather than the quality of the food.
I came in with a few friends for drinks and food.
Drinks were okay, food was horrible. A friend and I shared the " La Tablita" for two. The skirt steak was horrible. It was so chewy. Every time I took a bite, I had to spit it out in a napkin. This place is not worth the hype. Not authentic at all. They should have better quality meat. I've had way better Mexican food in the area. Server barely came to the table. Everyone was thirsty. We had to wave another server down to get ours. I will not go back to Javier's due to the horrible chewy meat they served us. Terrible! Go to "Red O" in "Newport Beach" you won't regret going to "Red O" is so much tastier and much better quality.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place.
Food was mediocre at best. They charge you $35.00 for a regular burrito with 1 ounce of meat. I went to the other Javier's location in Crystal Cove and the experience was exceptional but the Javier's in the Irvine Spectrum was not. I even complained about my burrito given them the opportunity to address my issue and nothing happened was addressed. I paid and left as a unsatisfied customer.
We were a party of 10, celebrating a birthday.
I'll start by saying the service and drinks were good. Guac. appetizer was fine and I liked the spice in the salsa. The ambience of the place is cool. The waiter however, kept trying to upsell us on stuff, which got a little annoying. I ordered the mole verde and my husband ordered the steak fajitas. I was disappointed that I was served 2 chicken thighs. We recently got back from Oaxaca, Mexico and their mole was served with chicken breast. The verde was good but overpowering not having enough meat to balance the sauce. As far the fajitas....well just disappointing. It was literally cut steak in a bowl with grilled veggies. Definitely not what we expected. Last, my friend had brought in mini Bundt cakes to celebrate her birthday. They charged $30 to pass out the Bundt cakes!!! That is absolutely ridiculous. IMO...not worth it.
Javier's at Irvine Spectrum is cracking.
On weekends you will see long lines and happy loiterers because they just had a satisfying meal in a beautiful restaurant. The food here is like the nicest Mexican dish you'd ever find. The cost also reflects as such. The service too. A lot of their menu is in Spanish so for me it was difficult to know what I was getting. Also I asked the waiter and he said everything in the most Spanish way ever rolling all the R's and accenting all the O's and L's making it as challenging to understand as he could make it. Nevertheless I got Fajitas the only familiar Spanish word to me. I did not see burrito or taco my two other familiar food words. But Javier's is a great vibe at a decent cost. Definitely worthwhile going once in a while. All in all, quatro out of cinco stars my Yelp amigos.
Best meal of the weekend and the restaurant is beautiful!
This restaurant is so beautiful. The food is also really tasty. Chips and salsa are always a good idea. Margaritas were the best we had all weekend. We ordered the chille relleno and shrimp. It was really good. We also had a steak dish which was good. Overall it was the best meal we had. Highly recommend.

Javier's is always good! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, the service is so good and fast, they are personable, and simply on top of their game. The food is absolutely fantastic! I've been coming for years and it's always just as good. The pineapple margarita is a must!
My recent visit to Javier's was a mix of highs and lows,
My recent visit to Javier's was a mix of highs and lows, but overall, it was a pleasant experience. The drink selection is impressive, with a wide variety of margaritas and martinis to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the margaritas, which were expertly crafted and very refreshing. The food was generally good. My taco was filled with generous portions of meat and toppings, and the enchilada salsa was flavorful and delicious. The complimentary flan for a birthday celebration was a nice touch and was enjoyed by all at the table. The staff was attentive, perhaps a little too much at times. We were asked multiple times by different wait staff if we were done with an appetizer, which was a bit excessive and interrupted our meal. One aspect that stood out was the presence of an attendant in the bathroom, which gave the restaurant a more club-like atmosphere. While this may appeal to some, it felt a bit out of place in a dining setting. Overall, Javier's offers a lively atmosphere with great drinks and food. With a few adjustments to the service and ambiance, it could be an even more enjoyable dining experience.
Excellent food and service is always good.
The chipotle chicken dish is phenomenal, called the Josefina or something like that. Couldn't think of anything to complain about so 5 stars for you!
Javier's Restaurant had lovely decor and an inviting
Javier's Restaurant had lovely decor and an inviting atmosphere, as showcased by the metal tree artwork at the entrance. The staff are attentive, accomodating, and friendly! We enjoyed being seated in a semi private room and it made the dining experience that much better. We ordered the trio de ceviche (4.2/5.0), guacamole (4.1/5.0), and queso fundido (4.0/5.0) as appetizers. They were all delicious. We had the carne tampiqueña 3.8/5.0), arrachera 3.9/5.0), enchiladas de vegetales (3.8/5.0), among other dishes. Again, all very delicious. For dessert we had the tres leches cake (3.7/5.0), fried ice cream (4.5/5.0), and chocolate cake (3.0/5.0). The fried ice cream dish was the favorite. I was also a big fan of their guava margarita mocktail (4.7/5.0)! I would reserve this for special occasion due to costs but it's definitely worth trying.
The New York strip was fantastic and so was the seafood
The New York strip was fantastic and so was the seafood pasta! Usually we stick to the Mexican classics, but decided to venture out and are glad we did! Food was fantastic. Service was also great as always! We had a great time celebrating our anniversary.
Food is okay.
The hostess had a stank face and was super unwelcoming. She did not greet us. She sat down on a chair the entire shift so I don't understand what's so hard about her job. I guess getting paid minimum wage to greet wealthy clients can get tiring. They should make her work in the back and wash dishes or something that way no one can lose their appetite seeing her rude face.
Javier's! What can I say about this place.
The staff was great. The people were great but the fooood... ahh.. As a Mexican I can honestly say it was not the greatest. It's not authentic and dare I say, overpriced. I brought my mother who is full born and bred Mexican to eat here and it was Myself, my mother, and Sister. I spent $250 for three plates of food. My mom even said it was not good, it just basic. It's not bad but once you have tasted real authentic Mexican food. You can't go back to this. Once again. Food was basic, workers were awesome. The cooks were great I just am not a fan of the menu. It's not the cooks fault. They do what they can with what they are given Ambiance.. I would describe it as warm, dimmed lights intimate mood.once again this is MY opinion. To each there own
Great food, drinks, service, and atmosphere.
Lobster enchiladas and espresso martini were particularly delicious.
I happened to be in the area and thought to give it a try.
I have heard great reviews and now I can give my opinion. Walked up around 4:30 and was lucky to get a Bar top table as they were completely booked for dinner. I looked around and noticed how many employees worked there, how well presented they dressed, and the great attentiveness they displayed towards the guests. Then we get our server Baldemar! Greeted with such a friendly smile and courteous hospitality. He gave great recommendations and food was phenomenal! The drinks were superb and the entire ambiance of the restaurant was amazing. Had such a great dinner and Baldemar definitely gave 5 star service! Cant wait to go back and try more on the menu. Make reservations ahead of time, they are booked even on the weekday.
Food was not good and it was too pricey place is too small
Food was not good and it was too pricey place is too small I didn't like the table they gave me
I thought the chips and salsa were great, and we ordered
I thought the chips and salsa were great, and we ordered and had a wonderful meal. A bit pricey, but after said and done, it was worth it.
Complete garbage
Drink a rip off (if you like $30) drinks like a strip club. Spoke to the manager who was complete jerk and the staff is no different , I have tons of friends frequently going here and that’s about to end. Great job jerks. Spent $250to be treated like low lives
Great Food, Great Location
was in town for a friends Celebration of Life ceremony and this was his favorite place. The service was quick, efficient and friendly and the food and drinks were off the hook good. Recommend a visit if you are in town

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
