This meal was incredible and worth the hype.
I am vegetarian but I do think all could enjoy this place. We over ordered so keep in mind portion sizes are pretty decent. The almond horchata is delicious as were the nachos - a must get. We also ordered the pescado tacos which were so tasty and also the chorizo burrito. Couldn't enjoy the burrito as much because we were pretty stuffed by the time it came. Also got the churros with dulce de leche sauce and it was tasty! Would definitely come back.

Their menu is inventive and incredibly delicious. The burrito is a must, and their frozen margaritas are to die for.

We dined outside, the weather was great. It took a while for us to get our food but understandable, it was a busy day. We came here for Mother's Day. It was wonderful. Everything was great. The staff were very friendly and we got some nice free treats in the end and they were delicious. I would go often if it wasn't so out of the way for me but on occasion I will drop by. Lovely place.

Ambiance was amazing and i really think there's no place like this. The nachos were amazing but I wasnt a fan of the fish tacos or the ginger ale drink. They were very accommodating and allowed me to change my order to the chicken tacos which were amazing.

A great alternative whether you're vegan, vegetarian or even meat lovers (you won't miss the real thing). The East Village location has a nice bohemian feel with a great energy space and excellent service. Menu was pretty large and there's something for everyone.

5/10 Ambience: 9/10 very colorful, trendy yet clsssy vibes Drinks: 6/10 a bit too weak despite being tequila based. We felt like we were drinking juice. The matcha y coconut was supposed to be their best one, but I honestly don't even remember the taste. I believe it was bitter. Service: 9/10 Friendly and fast! They also explained all the vegan options. Food: 8/10 I believe out of all the vegan restaurants I went to this had food that felt the most flavorful and whole. By whole I mean that there is little to no use of meat replacements or extremely processed food. I often feel as if many vegan restaurants focus on making their food taste like meat rather than enjoying the flavors that vegetables have to offer. Jajaja Mexicana was a place that really made a great effort to use plants and vegetables to create a whole meal. I liked the jackfruit tacos the most! The buffalo tacos were not my style because it didn't seem as creative, but if you like fried this would be for you. The queso was really good! Tasted like actual queso, but less sharp. Overall: 8/10 Drinks could be better, but for a vegan restaurant this was great. Must go for anyone who is veg or vegan!

Delicious food! Non vegans take note, you won't be able to tell the food is vegan, just tasty.

Embarking on a culinary adventure at this vegan Mexican haven never fails to impress, making it my go-to spot for hosting friends from out of town. Having visited both the Lower East Side (LES) and West Village (WV) locations, I appreciate the nuanced differences in ambiance. The LES exudes a lively party vibe, adding a unique energy to the dining experience, whereas the WV location has its own distinctive charm. Regardless of the locale, this establishment consistently proves itself as a reliable and stellar choice, ensuring each visit is a solid and enjoyable affair, perfectly suited for sharing the joys of plant-based Mexican cuisine with friends.

Definitely get the churros with coconut cream for dessert. My husband said he never understood the hype with churros but now gets it bc they were soooo delish.

The customer service is either hit or miss at EVERY Jajaja location (I've been to 3 and you come across people who really love or hate their job.) The verde enchiladas are phenomenal-I could probably eat it every day. The churros are also tasty.

I don't have one negative thing to say! Bring your friends here and wow them!

Unfortunately, I guess they need a 30-40 minute window for takeout. Good to know.

As a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the food! I ordered take out and it was delicious, and I got a lot of food for my money. Looking forward to visiting in person soon.

Came in with a resy reservation for a dinner with my girlfriend on a Saturday night. They were playing a reggaeton playlist that I really loved, but I found the music to be far too loud :( made it hard to chat across the table. But aside from that, the vibes were good overall, was modern and trendy. The food was out of this world! The nachos were so delicious and the vegan chorizo was better than actual chorizo (hot take). It also was a big portion size so my partner ended up taking most of her entree home. From a vegan restaurant?? Unheard of. For entree we got the green enchiladas and gorditas with vegan chicken, both of which were delicious. The sauce on the enchiladas was creamy and the vegan chicken was well seasoned.
Be the first to ReplyWe are such fans of everything from Jajaja.
The food, drinks (non alcoholic or alcoholic), and desserts are always amazing. Interestingly after a trip to Oaxaca and Puerto Vallarta having tried many vegan tacos, we were missing and craving for Jajaja which we feel have the best tacos. They are so creative with the ingredients not just focused on having soy protein which is what a true vegan restaurant should be! Also they use agave as sweetener so mostly refined sugar free (only a few desserts options have cane sugar).

I've been to Jajaja a few times, both to this location and the West Village location, and my experience has always been good. This time I went around brunch time and got the breakfast burrito. It was actually one of my least favorite things that I've gotten from there. I just didn't really like the "egg" part of it. In the past I've enjoyed the chorizo burrito as it's quite filling and is covered in a variety of sauces. I've also liked some of the tacos, although I wish the quantity of an order of tacos was a little more. My favorite dish would probably be the nachos. It's listed as an appetizer but I wouldn't mind having an entire order as an entree. The vegan cheese on the nachos has a really nice taste and texture that I did not expect.I think that authentic Mexican food can already be vegan friendly, so it's not necessary to go here to find vegan Mexican food, but it may be worth a visit for vegans and non vegans alike.

The menu is eclectic, creative, tasty, and overall impressive. As a vegetarian I'm used to being limited when eating out, and sometimes disappointed by butchered vegan dishes. Jajaja is always a treat, whether it's dining out or ordering delivery, the food is always right. a must try!

Very tasty and great portions! I'm not even a vegan! There are many options that you can choose from that don't have the alternative meat that some carnivores fear.
Be the first to ReplyYum very delicious I do recommend.
