Italian Graffiti Salt Lake City Reviews from The Last Year
So sad, would have given this place 5 starts back in
So sad, would have given this place 5 starts back in December. Had great food, service and ambiance back at that time. Went there again tonight with a party of 6, and the service was truly bad. We waited at our table for a while before our waiter came and said they forgot we were in their section. He honestly was probably overwhelmed because it was so busy, but we only saw him a handful of times during the night. Took forever to get us our check and didn't ask us how we would like it split, just brought it out. With how much money we spent, I feel like you should at least have the courtesy to ask how the check should be split. Atmosphere is so cool there, but service is meh. Food is good, but extremely overpriced for what you are getting. The portion sizes are definitely smaller from the last time we came. I got the carbonara, and it was probably the most mediocre carbonara I have ever had. Very lacking in flavor, which is hard to do with a carbonara. You also have to pay extra for the bread AND you have to pay if you also want butter with it haha. I mean, I guess I get charging for bread if it is "artisan and made in house", but charging 5 extra bucks for it to come with butter? What a joke. They were out of their sourdough bread, so we got the garlic bread and focaccia, but super underwhelming. The focaccia was so dry, it was hard to eat. The only saving grace was the gnocchi. Perfectly pillowy with a flavorful sauce. Really loved this dish. Overall, if you want to go to a place with overpriced mediocre food and crappy service, this is your spot! So sad they went so downhill in just a matter of months.

Doesn't accommodate food allergies + The hostess ruined a surprise birthday dinner. Upon checking in I confirmed with her that we were there for a surprise dinner and she said okay. When the birthday boy showed up she told him "your party is already here," ruining the surprise. Secondly the service here is SLOW. Unbelievably slow that the waiter makes it a point to seem cool and uninterested in serving the table. We went for a dinner service at 6pm and the restaurant was half capacity. This restaurant prides itself on having an in house baker, which honestly was the only great thing. We ordered, a full round of drinks, steak frites, scallops, prime steak and carbonara pasta. The scallops were over cooked and rubbery, the fries that came with the frites tasted stale. Over all our tab was ~$400 which for the quality of the food and service is grossly overpriced. There are other true fine dining restaurants nearby that are way better than this restaurant. The waiter also states the restaurant serves in a coursing order however that is the farthest thing from the truth. I mentioned having a mushroom allergy and the waiter stated after checking with the kitchen they cannot remove mushroom from any dishes on the menu. Overall this restaurant gives great Instagram aesthetic vibes for photos but that is it. Like most restaurants that are great for instagram photos they lack in the food and service section. Don't recommend this place as the over all experience was awful. Caffe Molise, Lake effect, Carson's Kitchen or Flemings will provide a much better experience for your buck.

Honestly this place used to be one of my FAVORITES, but lately it hasn't been the best. They normally have an amazing cheese bread and this time around it was cold and just not as good as previous times. We ordered the carbonara and it was very eggy compared to other places we've had before. their chicken parm was good but a little on the saltier side. We were so disappointed with our food that we didn't even bother to order dessert. The staff was amazing as always but I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon.

Italian With A Different Flavor
Amazing service from Christopher and the food was delicious. Very different Italian food. The pastas were very heavy and would have liked a lighter choice. I feel that the appetizers were the best part of the menu. Please add decaf coffee and better plan to not run out of prosciutto.

This place was incredible! The lighting and theme of this place is breath taking. If you're looking for something fancy this is the place to go. The food was delicious, and came out looking fantastic. The service was very professional and very quick. The only down side would have to be the serving sizes of everything we got was on the smaller side. Still love this place though and we will definitely be back!!
Made a reservation for 9 on a Saturday night.
Great start to the evening meal. However, once our food was placed on the table our server never came back to check on us. No additional service was offered and the entire table didn't get refills on our drinks, after our food. The server did come back to hand us our $400 bill after all our food was eaten and plates pushed away from us. Food tasted good, but I would have really liked some salt and a refill after getting my meal.

This was an amazing meal! The food and drinks were incredible. Everything we ordered came out beautifully and tasted incredible. 10/10 will go again!
My second visit here in the past year.
We got a the corner table which had a commanding view of the restaurant. Sweet! We ordered the beat salad, tortellini, Aracini, duck pappardelle and chicken parm, All hit the spot. The truffle mushroom shroom arancini stole the night. We were treated graciously and attentively by our server Meagan and her runner Forrest.

Wow. This place is in my top 3 all time favorites along with Nobu and a small French restaurant in NYC. Every single dish was stellar! I got the olive bread with the burrata (a MUST!!) and I honestly would've been happy eating only that for the rest of the night. We also got the cacio de Pepe balls which were insanely good. Our table had the bolognese, squid ink pasta, and gnocchi and everything was incredible, you could taste the care and effort put into each dish. Finished with an immaculate tiramisu. 100/10, this is the first place I'll be bringing my out of town guests!

The place is beautiful hands down ambiance is great, All pastas and breads and desserts are made fresh in house Get the dry aged strip steak and spicy rigatoni you won't be disappointed. And don't forget to finish with tiramisu 1 is enough to share for 2!
25 mins for drinks, 30 mins to even take an order.
From time we sat down until the apps showed up, 90 minutes. Every person in this place, clueless. My wife got a steak 58 bucks, prime filet, ya nope, not prime grade, not even close. The sides were 4 tiny squares of beats size of a blueberry lol and two tablespoons of puréed potatoes smeared on the plate, $20 value. ALL the photos of this place are from a year ago when it wasn't Olive Garden level. Opposite of what it must have been when it opened.
I don't know where to begin.
Beautiful restaurant adequate staff however they were rude and inattentive at best or maybe high. we were a party of 5 of us and it took over 20 minutes to be served our drinks of which 2 drinks; kettle vodka martinis they didn't even have nor stuffed blue cheese olives... took another 10 minutes to receive sub par service substitutes. oir waiter started a week ago and had no knowledge of menu no could pronounce anything on the menu. fortunately my standard pasta and meatball sauce was average at best. however, my guests ordered the carbonara which was basically Velveeta cheese with non al dente mush with a Smidge of bacon for looks, portion was no larger ithan half a cup. 2nd guest had a non prime choice, choice grade filet that was cooked property but lacked flavor; side item was a crap parsnip puree 1 tbls at beat. 3rd guest had relatively good chicken parm; come on it's fried chicken with no pizazz, 5th guest had basic pasta dish that I had with no complaints. we had 3 desrerts which were decent but could also be found at a local Olive Garden. I could type another paragraph, but I'll leave it at that. I will never go back.
The only good thing about my experience was the atmosphere,
The only good thing about my experience was the atmosphere, the beautiful tree, lighting, etc. However, maybe if they put as much effort into the food as they decor I would have enjoyed it. My party and I ordered food practically 5 minutes in and didn't receive our food until over an hour and a half later. Two people with me received their salads they ordered as entrees a full hour before the rest of us had food. Service was alright the server apologized but also seemed a little out of sorts I will say. Very loud and noisy inside which is not that much of a problem and wouldn't have been if the wait wasn't so long. EXTREMELY OVERPRICED! When the food finally came I was expecting the food to be worth the wait, but NOPE! I ordered the carbonara and it was undercooked and cold. Don't waste your money, you can see a real tree for free and get more delicious food elsewhere.
Overpriced basic Italian food.
Just because it's downtown doesn't mean it's good. Save your money
Beautiful restaurant but overpriced average food
Beautiful restaurant but disappointing overpriced and average food. To start with the positives: The bread (sourdough rye, $8 for four slices) with whipped ricotta honey and butter (another $9) was delicious with good texture and crumb. The baguette was also good with the olive oil ($9). My husband had the scallops and said they were very good ($29 for a small plate of four). I don’t eat meat and there are very few vegetarian options at this restaurant (and being told by our waitress that the eggplant parmesan would take too long to make— we had an hour and a half to eat before our show), I ordered the butternut squash pasta at the recommendation of the waitress. When my dish was brought out, it was the sweet corn scarpinnoc ($26). When I said I hadn’t ordered that but ordered the butternut squash, everyone seemed confused and said they don’t have a squash dish even though it was on the menu and recommend by the waitress. I was then told by the waitress that the menu was misprinted but also didn’t get an option to give me a different meal. I said I would keep the corn dish as I didn’t want to wait for another dish to be made. The corn pasta included about 10 small pieces of pasta ( not exaggerating) that were 2 in by 1 inches with about 1/2 tsp filling inside each piece and about 1 tablespoon sauce over all of it. The pasta was undercooked and lacking much taste. I don’t mind small portions; however, the price should reflect that a bit. Several of my table mates had meat dishes and there’s were either the same price as mine or maybe two or three dollars more. I felt like I was subsidizing everyone else’s meals as mine was so cheap and meat is expensive. I have heard the salads are good here and did try the heirloom carrots side dish ($9) which was really good and exactly cooked as it should be with plenty of sauce. Can’t say I would recommend this restaurant unless you maybe just go for the bread and salad and expect to pay at least $40 a person just for that.
SLC's best Italian eatery
At one time a California Pizza Kitchen it was late 2022 that Las Vegas Chef Marc Marrone opened Italian Graffiti inside The Gateway of Salt Lake City, Marc and co-owner Reed Slobusky of Nice Hospitality sparing no expense to create a beautiful room serving equally elegant Pastas, Antipasti and Secondi. Fortunate enough to eat a lot of Chef Marrone's food during the pandemic, in that case Asian-influenced Graffiti Bao, Italian Graffiti sees him tap into family recipes passed down from his grandparents and featuring locally-sourced Ingredients from Utah’s small farms. Built around an open kitchen and bar, each member of the staff wearing a smile atop comprehensive knowledge of the menu, it is while taking in the scene unfolding beneath flowers that guests should begin with Housemade Bread including rustic Rye Sourdough served with a la carte condiments such as good Olive Oil, Olives, Pan Drippings and Normandy Butter. Torn between Marc’s world-class Meatballs and delicate Cacio e Pepe Beignets it was the latter that won out thanks to their novelty, each of five golden-crisp with a molten center though that is certainly no reason to pass on Whipped Ricotta with Local Honey or Handmade Burrata served alongside Peaches, Pesto and Duck Prosciutto. Placing 2-tops along the edge with banquettes in the middle, at least ninety diners seated shortly after opening, it was with music playing lightly that the first of two Pastas arrived featuring pockets of local Corn in Brown Butter Sauce with assertive Blueberry Balsamic and bits of fresh Basil. A mix of tradition and contemporary cooking, the hand-milled Polenta served simply with Butter and two types of Cheese, Secondi got skipped in favor of Rabbit Tortellini that tastes like a more refined and delicate form of classic Sausage & Peppers. Again challenged by the desire for multiple desserts as a solo diner the decision was made to defer, both a server and GM suggesting Marc’s Salt Caramel Budino that might have been better without Chocolate, though that is largely just a matter of personal preference and certainly didn’t stop every single spoonful from being devoured.
Good Italian food, spotty service
We made reservations and glad we did because they were booked. Although I noticed a number of empty tables. We sat at the counter by the kitchen. Our server basically forgot about us. We waited for water and anything to happen for almost 15 minutes. Not a good start. The chicken dish was good, I ordered the ravioli, which was ok. The arugula salad and gem salads were to die for! A decent wine by the glass selection in addition to wine list. They offered nice dessert selections but we passed. I believe the owner stopped by to check on us and later, a manager. It didn't change my opinion of the service though. I think a different server who gave you service you pay for would be a great experience.
Let them eat cake!
This is a pretentious wannabe restaurant. The clientele generally appear to be pleased, which was quite surprising to me. The staff were not inattentive, just indifferent. The image I cannot get out of my head is the menu item titled half baguette with imported butter for $8. Not a bad value when you consider a huge slab of imported butter, but the half ficelle ( not baguette as advertised) was gone in about 4 seconds, with my 3 daughters and I each having an Oliver Twist sized portion that left us clamoring for “ more please, sir”. We were then staring at a lonely slab of butter with nothing to spread it on ( photo provided). The meal was decent and the New Zeland white was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. The only downside of outdoor seating was the tobacco scent of those walking by.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome
to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
|
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Idk if this is related to the unsold listing % rule but I have listed 6 reservations and sold 5 of them and my unsold listing percentage is ~45%. Give the best answerHonest review of AT and advice to new joiners
Forget trying to snipe reservations online by waking up early and booking top restaurants at Carbone or Tatiana or Cote or 4Charles. After 2.5 months of booking reservations by setting up alarms, waking up early to sell appointments. It’s very hard to cash out on this app. During cash out, you have to pay $5 fee +3% transactions fee and max payout per day is $150.
Advice to new users:
- do not mass book reservations
- fill bids only
- don’t try to book reservations online, you need connections and call the restaurant
After putting in about 40 hours of work, I’ve made about $750 sale on this platform but gotten paid $0. Take this with a grain of salt.

I accepted a bid for a popular restaurant in Los Angeles only to receive a phone call shortly thereafter informing me that the reservation had been canceled due to it being listed on AT. I of course need to subsequently cancel the reservation on AT but get this warning that my status will be negatively affected for doing so. I've reached out to customer support about this several times with no response, not sure what to do in this station. Hoping someone can advise.
