I felt like the ramen here was pretty normal.
It was average with how the flavors and broth tasted. The spicy was overpowering the ramen and the broth did not feel like it had much flavor. The only good part was that the ramen noodles were cooked to al dente. There were not many toppings compared to other places and it was a bit pricey for the bowl. I didn't have to wait for a long time for a table since I had come earlier to beat the crowd for dinner time. The service was pretty fast; they took my order and brought out the bowl right away. The restaurant itself was pretty small so there are not that many tables. I would recommend coming early if you don't want to have to wait for a table.

I've been to the sf location couple of years ago and it didn't leave quite the impression but they have revised the menu for sure and it's quite amazing. I had the veggie buns and the akamaru. My partner had the karaka spicy veggie ramen. I love loved the ramen and the noodles were so fresh and soft and melted in my mouth. Very friendly service. Premium pricing for the quality and the taste. 10/10 the cupertino location had a good ambiance. I remember the sf location being slightly more fancy.
Be the first to Reply[Food] - Bushi Harmony Ramen ($20): Seasonal limited item.
The ramen version tastes similar to the tsukemen version but a bit lighter in flavor and more milky. Ramen noodles are nice and bouncy. - Bushi Harmony Tsukemen ($20): Seasonal limited item. I personally like this more as the thick dipping broth is flavorful, not too salty, and one of the few similar flavor profiles as Tsujita Sawtelle in LA that I've tried around the Bay Area! I asked for some lemon and added to the last half of the broth and I'm in love! I wish this could be a permanent dish on their menu! Also the tsukemen is the only dish you can't get to-go, dine-in only. [Service] - Friendly, helpful, fast - No wait on a Friday at 12pm [Ambiance] - Decent amount of seating [Overall] - Would come back again! - Although I enjoy their usual ramen menu, I usually like to wait till they have their limited tsukemen. I've tried their Hakata Tsukemen before but I personally love the Bushi Harmony version more! - This review is solely based on their seasonal items, not their usual menu items
Be the first to ReplyI'm going against the grain here.
Yes this place is expensive but the food is actually good. The ramen was flavorful and well cooked. The pork was slightly chewy but tasted great. The broth was excellent. The chicken karaage appetizer was well cooked and had a lot of flavor. The pork bun was slathered with too much sauce and the chicken bun had tons of mayo. I don't recommend these. The service was friendly and efficient. The decor was pretty much like the restaurants in Japan.
Be the first to ReplyUpdate is, the water glass was always very high quality
Update is, the water glass was always very high quality tasting water too. The Japanese ocean water decoration is all very beautiful and nice to enjoy. Reminds of Murakami (I personally dislike Murakami greatly because I feel as a female artist he is a little bit creepy for young female characters, but reminds) and the art is like Hokusai (Japanese painter who painted great ocean pictures, has a color sense as good as Van Gogh had especially he can always pick the best blue and white pigment, and who could even paint on a grain of sand). The plain yet warm sand desks are comforting to hang around, the solo seat section is always good, they have good ability to people watch for clients who are introverted and like to people watch and ability to play as a group for clients who are extroverted who like to drink and talk in a group. It is very good and always busy, but lately the quality of the bowl has been lessened and become too sweet like maple syrup and pork based, and it is very expensive so I have stopped coming. I think with the tech boom and fact rich people seem to not tip at all lately, the cooks and service staff may have become fed up. I do not blame them. Please tip and make them happy so they can make me happy, thank you. I am not very rich yet, so I do not think I could go cheer them up all the time and eat a lot at Ippudo.
Be the first to ReplyReally good ramen.
Even for vegetarians. Tasty and hot. I had it with the spicy options. Good selection of sake. Limited beer selection. Fast service. Good ambience. It gets crowded. Weekdays may be better.
Be the first to ReplyI ate the whole bowl of Veggie Shiromaru! The broth is made
I ate the whole bowl of Veggie Shiromaru! The broth is made of Ippudo's mushroom infused broth created from an exclusive Japanese soy milk, with Tokyo-style thick wavy noodles, tofu, scallions, and seasoned bamboo shoots. Sooooo good. Slurped up all of the broth too. Added a Olsen Tamago. Service is excellent- friendly and prompt. I will definitely eat here again when in Cupertino. Inside is modern and decor is creative.
Be the first to ReplyWe tried Ippudo when we were traveling in New York
We tried Ippudo when we were traveling in New York pre-pandemic and weren't wowed; I distinctly remember thinking I preferred Ramen Nagi. But we came here again on a whim and were able to get seated at the bar right away even at 6:30PM on a Saturday night. I ordered the classic tonkatsu ramen and opted for the thicker noodles. I loved the pleasant chewiness and the pork based broth was flavorful without being overly heavy or fatty, as some tonkatsu broths can be. I devoured my entire bowl and briefly contemplated whether to get an extra order of noodles but showed restraint since my ramen was already $15. My husband for the spicy tomkatsu ramen and loved it; I tried a few bites and can confirm it was delicious. He said it started to taste pretty spicy after awhile though so it's not for the faint of heart. His ramen was $19, and he also decided to go all out and get the "treasure" topping, which included extra chasu, nori, tamago, and bamboo for $8. (Hey, if you manage to swing a date night out without the kids, you gotta enjoy yourself amiright?) The ramen here is pricey but after having attempted to make ramen at home, complete with all the toppings, I can assure you that good quality ramen and the variety of toppings is an intense labor of love and I'll gladly fork over my hard earned cash to pay someone to make it for me. With that being said, Ippudo is one of the best I've had and it's definitely worth a try if you're a ramen fan! Bonus: there were many vegetarian ramen options on the menu, which surprised me given that there's usually only one vegetarian ramen.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic ramen, Alex was great.
Very modern atmosphere and fast service. All ramen is very good
Be the first to ReplyThe ramen here was very flavorful.
My bf had visited a location in SF during a work conference and wanted to take me here. He was happy to find that there was a location in Cupertino. We bother ordered Ramen, the Bao trio, and Takoyaki. My bowl came with think noodles, while his were the thicker ones. I wasn't sure if there was an option to substitute for the thick ramen, I mean it was bad, I just prefer the thick noodles. Mine was spicy and I enjoyed that it had the right amount if spice without being over powering. The Bao was ok, I was entirely feeling the sauce that was in them. The Takoyaki was delicious. Flavorful with the prefect crisp.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly staff!Nice ambiance.
Food is all right, not to the WOW but decent ramen with good flavor.
Be the first to ReplySmooth broth with good tasting chashu and a nice egg.
Karaage was juicy, takoyaki was good, but the gyoza was not unfortunately. Definitely recommend the karaka spicy.

Decent ramen spot! Came in on a Friday night around 7pm and we were seated right away. Sat in front of the kitchen so you can see your ramen dish being made. Very pleased with the ramen and friendly service.

Food is good, main issue is price and portion, take out to ramen within the bowl and broth is only 1/4 of the bowl and they don't have broth refill. On top of the service was horrible, was seated quick but took around 30 minutes until we got our water and another 20 to receive our food.
Be the first to ReplyI saw a recent list on SF Eater of ramen places to try in
I saw a recent list on SF Eater of ramen places to try in the South Bay. Ippudo was on that list and several friends recommended it. So, on my last trip home, I just had to try it.It's located in Vallco Parkway along with a large variety of eateries and stores. This place can get extremely busy and parking is a premium so we arrived right as they opened for lunch. We were seated right away. After checking out the simple menu, I ordered the Akamaru Modern and my friend got the Karaage Rice Bowl. We decided to share the gyoza appetizer, which arrived promptly. It was one of the best gyozas I have ever tried . It was delicate, but flavorful. Our food arrived in a timely manner. My ramen is a pork broth with miso paste topped with pork chasu and kikuragi mushrooms. I'm used to a full bowl with the broth steaming hot. But Ippudo's was smaller and the broth was a nice temperature which can be easily eaten right away. I usually burn my tongue on the broth, but not this time. I added a soft boiled egg to my soup. I sampled the broth first and it was heavenly. Ramen broth can usually get very salty, but not Ippudo's. It was perfectly balanced umami. The noodles were thinner than I'm used to, but it was perfectly matched to the delicious broth. I ate every single thing in my bowl and I was one happy camper.I tasted my friend's karaage which was also different than what I'm used to. The batter was thicker and it was dusted with panko crust. The meat was thigh meat which made it really tender. The restaurant was simple but elegant. The servers were helpful since it was our first visit. They took our order quickly and our food came out shortly thereafter. We were able to enjoy our meal and got out before the lunch crowd descended. All in all, I was really impressed with the food and service. I will definitely be back as soon as I can.
Be the first to ReplyI was looking for a place to eat around here but really had
I was looking for a place to eat around here but really had to use the restroom. I walked in to ask if they had a restroom that I could possibly use & the man looked at me up & down & laughed. I stood there waiting for an answer & asked what I needed so I repeated if I could use their restroom & he laughed again & shook his head so I was about to leave & he said to just go. My boyfriend was waiting at the door & he told my boyfriend with the nastiest attitude that it's not a public restroom, that it's for customers only. That's understandable. I didn't demand anything. That's why I asked IF there was a restroom I could use. We were also considering eating here because like I mentioned, we were looking for a place to eat but after that, most definitely not. Trash attitude.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a quick dinner.
We were quickly seated on the communal table which was cool. We tried the standard miso ramen and a new spicy bowl. The soup base for the miso was pretty good, it was full of flavors from the boiling meat. The meat (whatever is called) was tender and flavorful. However, it was just a couple of pretty thin slices, which was disappointing for the price point. The new spicy bowl was kimchi-based and the meat was the sin sliced beef from beef teriyaki bowls. It was quite spicy, and I did enjoy it.Overall the food is good, however the price it's 3.5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyI've always enjoyed Ippudo.
The first time we tried it was the Berkley location. Happy that they opened one in the area now. I like their broth and noodles here, it's very flavorful. I always get the Shiromaru classic and my husband likes the Yuzu. The portions are very decent and the noodles are cooked al dente! They're thin noodles so it's easier to grab and eat. They do give a lot of bamboo shoots which is a win for the hubby since he likes them. I don't care for it much. It does get crowded on some days, but when we came in on a Saturday evening, it wasn't so bad.
Be the first to ReplyFood was alright but the service was wack.
We were seated and it took forever for the waitress to come by to get our order. She and the other waiter were flirting the whole time. Not to mention their was only one other customer there so they weren't busy at all. Finally when we did order our food came out relatively fast and 2 minutes later the waitress came by and made us pay. They only did this to us, the only Hispanic people in the room so take that as what you will. They wouldn't even break a bill for a tip. Overall I would not come back.

The ramen tasted the same as Ippudo ramen in Japan, but it is a little overpriced here. The service was mediocre. We had 5 people but were given only 4 sets of utensils.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible ramen.
I don't know what it is to restaurants that come to the Bay Area.. somehow the quality is just terrible. First glance, it's all noodles. I got a veggie ramen and it literally had 5 bamboo shoots, some green onions, and 2 pieces of tofu.. whaaaat? Second, the broth is way too salty and oily. You can literally feel it on your lips.. come on. My partner's food was more of the same. The food is literally just noodles and salty broth. Not worth the money. I knew we should've went to our go to HiroNori. Save your money, go elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyTheir Veggie Akamaru is one of the best vegetarian ramens
Their Veggie Akamaru is one of the best vegetarian ramens I've had in a long time. The broth is not overtly salty or oily -- something I've experienced at other ramen places. It is seasoned just right along with the dollop of Akamaru paste, which enliven the umami senses in your mouth. The noodles are perfectly textured: thick, chewy, al dente, and slurpy. I usually add their well-marinated soft-boiled tamago for added flavor and protein. The two tofu chashu slices are surprisingly dense, stiff, and chewy. The whole ensemble makes an extremely satisfying ramen experience.

Ippudo, a world famous ramen chain is something one must try if they are fans of ramen. However, this location seems conflicted with how ramen should be served. The atmosphere was okay, nothing to rave about when my wife and I came in, below is a summary of our experience:1. Service: 0 / 5 starsI waved down a waiter to wipe the table due to its stickiness. He came seemingly offended and asked, where? Without taking my word, he checks the table with his hands before wiping it down with a towel. I thought it was awkward that he thought we would lie for whatever reason. I mean do people lie about stuff like this ever? Did COVID end for this restaurant? There will be no menu given to you. After scanning the QR code on the edge of the table, you'll see the menu. However, you won't be able to order from it which was weird? After waving around without response, I spoke up before finally someone came to take our order. This took maybe 10 minutes at a restaurant with 3 active waiters, a restaurant that's not full, and no bigger then 200-300 square feet? The servers don't really talk to you. This is unusual, granted at authentic ramen places; the servers and chefs usually enjoy conversating with their patrons. But nope, not this place. They all look as stoic as ever. Great Valentine's day service for sure! LOL.2. Food: 5 / 5 starsMiso Tonkotsu - 5 / 5. The ramen's great and firm. The broth was excellent. We loved it.Akamaru Modern - 5 / 5. The ramen is of a thinner type. It is also on the firmer side. The broth was excellent. We loved it.3. Dรฉcor - 3 / 5 starsTypical of any ramen joint. Seemingly clean, but I thought it was odd that all of the Asians are all serving while the cooks are not. Sure they probably have a list of easy instructions for the cooks to follow, however, having the glass to display that they are not Asians cooks seems odd for a Japanese restaurant.Final thoughts:Get it to go. That way you'll pass all the BS with the waiter/waitress. Enjoy your excellent ramen at the comfort of your home. Btw, their online menu and prices are not up to date. You may wanna ask for specifics before ordering if you want accurate pricings.

Bottom line: relaxed staff, chill vibes, fire broth, FLAMEY noodles.Vibes: a shop with origins to Japan, you may be hyped to go. It's not mind blowing, but I really enjoyed the whole experience. Located in Main Street Cupertino, parking can be a tiny bit of a pain. Seating is spacious enough. Staff is friendly, helpful, but mostly out of the way. Chill island covers of popular songs play.Broth/toppings: low key maybe toe surprise winner here. Vege broth was flavorful without being too salty. Slices of tofu with rough grilled skin almost filled the pork slice device desire. Miso broth also surprised me. Again, not too salty, hints of butter hit your tongue first, followed by a bit of fatty pork, with that miso finish. Fire. Pork slices satisfied, great not fire.Noodles: on the thin/medium train, but definitely not think, and definitely not medium. Noodles had a chew but weren't firm. I thought they perfectly fit with the soups, soaking up broth, and serving as a vessel to hold toppings while you stuff your face - hell yeah, you're eating ramen.Bathroom: two single occupant gender neutral rooms. White color schemes, rising Sun accents. Clean, no smell. Floor wasn't wet or sticky. Paper hand towels, no dryer.

I'm a big fan of Ippudo! I've had both the classic and the akamaru; Ippudo's broth is fragrant without being overwhelming or too heavy. I'm also a big fan of the thin noodles they have and really enjoy that you can choose your noodle firmness. I think I've had kata both times, but I might try a softer version the next time I'm there. The toppings are fresh and the meat is always cooked to a good texture! Parking can be a little hard on weekends; I'd recommend the garages in the back instead of the lots coming in from Stevens Creek. I wish they had a bit more toppings for the price, but I guess that's more of an inflation issue these days.
