Indigo at One Aldwych Restaurant London Reviews from The Last Year
Beautiful food and atmosphere without gluten!
This restaurant is elegant, the service is refined. It’s the first time I’ve gone to an all gluten free restaurant where both the food and atmosphere is excellent. This Chef proves superb dining doesn’t require gluten!!!
Perfect Night Out
My wife and I enjoyed our first evening here as a treat for our wedding anniversary and my birthday. From start to finish the service and food was exquisite, we enjoyed the tasting menu, each course was a delight in flavour and quality. Being a recently diagnosed Coeliac it was so reassuring that i could relax and enjoy the whole experience, a rare treat for me now! The staff were attentive and friendly. Thankyou.
Kudos to a great concept of a completely gluten free menu.
It's been a blessing to find a menu that's completely gluten free as a family that has several allergies. The atmosphere is very upscale and it's and has very professional and prompt service. Everything is tip top. My only issue is the portion of the mains leaves a lot to be desired. Entree price for an appetizer size plate and that was really my only gripe. It was like 4 bites of food...so just bc it's gluten free doesn't mean we don't like a decent portion !! We had the potato galette which was delicious but skimpy. Dessert was decadent and very well done. Chocolate cake and satisfying. I still liked the place and recommend!!
Good starter, inedible main
Was so looking forward to a special dinner with family after the theatre. I chose the theatre menu and the trout starter was delicious. Unfortunately my main course chicken was disgusting. The roulade was full of gristle! Really put me off and very disappointing.
Coeliac dream!
As a coeliac I was in heaven. To be able to have absolutely anything from the menu was a real treat. I so often feel like I’ve been handed a menu written on a Post It Note! We went for the tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was deliciously and the wine complemented each course perfectly. Our waiter was very pleasant and extremely knowledgable. Each course was explained to us , as was the accompanying wine. I am looking forward to my next visit!
The finest dining experience
Luxurious setting with great service. From cocktails and nibbles in the bar to the vegan tasting menu with wine pairing in Indigo the whole experience was faultless. Highly recommended.
Great food all gluten free!
Great place, more towards fine dining. Friendly staff and fantastic that all food is gluten free and milk free. As pescatarians not a lot of choice, but if you are a meat eater there’s a lot to be had here. Nice surroundings, and great location for pre-theater dinner
Absolutely amazing experience!
We were there to celebrate my partner birthday and i choose this place and occasion to propose her. We had cocktails, starter, main and side. The service and the food was absolutely fantastic, excellent costumer service, staff are very friendly. Food was absolutely delicious, you definitely get what you paid for. Julian and Luchio were an absolute gentleman with a lots of knowledge and friendly, respectful, excellent costumer service focused. The staff even gave us a “congratulations “ card what was absolute shocking in a positive way, me and my partner are very happy and we are definitely coming back! Thank you all!
At Last, Top Quality GF Fine Dining
What a treat for my wife to enjoy delicious gluten free food on her birthday. Service was excellent and we began with some warm sourdough bread which was the best GF bread she had ever had (they even gave her the recipe). Our starters of pork cheek and scallops were amazing (sauce with the pork was divine). Then for mains Fish and Chips and chicken with white beans, both equally as wonderful. A nice surprise was them producing a little birthday cake to go along with our coffee and petit fours. The Gruner Veltliner wine took us back to Vienna. Would recommend Indigo to any one with a Gluten allergy or not. A lovely experience.
Excellent Allergy Awareness. Great Food.
What an amazing place. Staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The food was excellent and best of all gluten free, dairy free and safe. Such a relaxing experience and so incredibly kind letting us stay on when our booked car broke down. Highly recommend and will definitely return.
Great for coeliacs and also non coeliacs!
I wanted a restaurant which offered a completely gluten free menu so my daughter who has coeliac disease could choose anything from it. Indigo at One Aldwych offered this and more. Great service, quality, locally sourced British ingredients, sustainable. Lovely food and desserts, excellent choice of wines and such a great location especially if you are visiting the theatre/Covent Garden area. The menu is also dairy free. Highly recommend wether you are needing a gluten and dairy free menu or not as you would never know.
Had a pleasant experience.
Nice ambiance and servers. Was a bit disappointed by the food choices (a few things I wanted were "sold out" and the other dish I wanted was not amendable). Finally settled on a fish which was fine. The other two members in my party enjoyed their food
The locally sourced food here is reasonably priced yet
The locally sourced food here is reasonably priced yet mediocre. But worse was the rude (and probably racist) hostess in the front. A sad and stark contrast to the hotel in which the restaurant sits where the wonderful staff staff a wonderful hotel. Skip the restaurant however much better choices to be had nearby.
Absolute hidden gem for GLUTEN FREE folks.
Tuesday breakfast: Menu was partially gluten free. I ordered the GF buttermilk waffles which they prepare in a dedicated setting(they don't have regular waffles). Extreeemely good, medium thickness, with a crunch when you bite in. My side of scrambled eggs and tomato was also excellent; I think they maybe snuck some cheese into the eggs as they were a bit creamy? Wednesday dinner: Menu was completely gluten free including the complimentary sourdough rolls served with housemade butter-- best GF bread EVER! We even requested a second round. The quail appetizer was perfect. The steak was fancy and cut like butter, and the potato side dish also just tasted like delicious butter. My BF liked the beer battered fish, which was the cheapest entree but probably a rare find for any celiac. To get to the restaurant, you go into the hotel and up one level. The vibe is very quiet and proper.
We accidentally happened on this place when we were in
We accidentally happened on this place when we were in London in June, and then happily chose it again last week when we were back, not realizing that it was the same place we loved before. Food was great. Service was so-so. But, in London, we've come to expect the so-so in many places when it comes to service. Definitely recommend.

We are staying at the hotel where Indigo is located and came here for breakfast. My husband ordered the full English breakfast, and I got waffles, crispy streaky bacon, sausage, eggs, and hash browns to share with my two-year-old toddler. The staff was accommodating and kind. My son is going through his terribly twos and I tend to avoid eating out because I HATE when he acts out in public. Anyway, the staff engaged him and my son enjoyed this. I thought my bacon, hash brown, and eggs were great. My son LOVED the scrambled eggs and kept asking for more. I was fond of the sausage, creamy buttery eggs, bacon, and hash browns. The waffles were okay, but they were as good as the other items I ordered. I'll be ordering room service tomorrow morning from the restaurant because of today's great experience.

Arrived this week to attend Wimbledon to finish our tour of the Grand Slams of tennis. Forecast rain today so bought Debenture Centre Court tickets for Thursday, July 6th. Staying at The Waldorf Hilton London and Indigo was half a bock distance away. It was raining hard and this restaurant fit the bill for wife's culinary requirement of gluten and dairy-free, seasonal and sustainable cooking. Upscale restaurant located on the mezzanine of the Indigo Hotel. Since we came in from the rain, the hostess immediately ask for the wife's wet coat and check it to the clock room. We were then sited by a window table observing the rain soaked people standing in the queue for the Lion King Musical across the street. Wine list and the daily menu was brought to us for viewing. Ordered the Seared Orkney Scallop with Confit chicken thigh with lemon and sea aster for starter. Slow Cooked Cornish Lamb Breast and Grilled Polenta for main. Sides are Mixed Leaf Salad and Triple-Cooked Hand-Cut Chips. Presentation was excellent and tasted right on target. Turns out to be quite a bit of food so we skip desserts as we still have Diet Coke and short bread from our British Away flight. An excellent dinner to close out our first full day in London. PS. The restaurant automatically added 1 € for the cancer society as a donation without my permission. The server then notified me that I can have it removed after presenting me with the dinner bill. Would be more appropriate to ask the customer first before adding the "donation".

Good question. Currently the bidder will have to include the prepaid dinner price plus bid to secure the reservation. AT is currently working on an upcoming release where the prepaid amount and the bid amount are two separate transactions. Happy Bidding!
