Indian Accent New Delhi Reviews from The Last Year
It’s ok
With many of the top-rated restaurants in New Delhi being buffets, it was encouraging to see this fine dining concept having earned so many awards. However, I really don’t see how this could be one of the best restaurants in Asia, or even in India. To start, what should have been a one-click reservation here took me a full week to complete. For some reason this needs to be conducted manually with a weird payment gateway that refused all methods of payment. To secure the reservation, my only option was sending CC details in plain text. The tasting menu was good for the price, but portions were a bit small and there was no showstopper. Wine pairings were pretty good. Aside from the gorgeous setting, it’s hard to say Indian Accent is on the same plane as Chicago’s Indienne or Dubai’s Tresind Studio.

Had been looking for an Indian restaurant with actually really good and authentic Indian food (really hard to come by in New York) and the food here did not disappoint. I had the three course menu and the portion sizes were just the right size. Not pictured here was the complimentary amuse bouche they brought at the start which was honestly the highlight of the meal, I could have had 5 more. I didn't quite hear what it was but my friend and I LOVED it. Some kind of bread thing and chai flavored soup? Anyway it was delicious. The shrimp and crab were cooked perfectly and very flavorsome. I wasn't too sold on the desserts or the ambience but overall a great dining experience.

I ate at this restaurant a year before COVID and had an amazing experience. I went back to them during my recent visit because I again wanted to eat their ghee roast lamb which was AMAZING last time I was here. However I have to say that their quality has gone down. Servers and staff still amazing , I sat at the bar and staff there were soooo nice. Ordered a scotch drink called Smokin on server recommendation and it was great. Ordered lamb with yogurt a new dish and it was just wow (everyone should try). Then I ordered the dish I came here for ghee roast lamb. Sorry but very disappointed as it was very bland and had so much tomato sauce that there was no flavor. Server was gracious to change the dish and I ordered for chicken malai tikka. Sorry to say but please don't call this dish chicken malai tikka. This was chicken meat ball and even then chicken was not minced. I didn't want to send the dish back and hence said it's ok. But very disappointed and won't recommend this dish. Also ordered dal and naan. Dal was good and naan just ok (same as any other restaurant). Being at Michelin star restaurant the expectations are high. But a BIG disappointment this time. Not sure if they have changed the chef. Also what surprised me was speed with which dishes were coming out. It seems like everything was premade and they were just pouring on plates. Sorry to say but restaurant need to increase their standard and come back to quality it had pre COVID. Thanks to the staff and bar whose service was great and reason I gave an additional star.
There was two of us and we had the $85 3-course pre-fixe.
THIS MEAL IS MADE FOR SHARING. Come with friends and nibble on everyone's choices, good or bad. There is plenty to go around. There are at least 6 choices in every section. You will have plenty variety. Everything we got was kind of amazing (except the khichdi, which was ok). I am a firm believer that appetizers are significantly better than mains at fine dining places. This restaurant did not prove me wrong. One service-related comment: not saying he was racist, but our server was more interested in taking the order from my white friend than from me (I'm Asian). appetizers: 1. lamb dahi vada, baked masala beet 2. beet and peanut butter tikki, goat cheese raita mid-courses: 3. smoked eggplant bharta cornet, goat cheese mousse 4. sweet pickle pork ribs, sundried mango, onion seeds mains: 5. branzino, patrani butter, berry pulao 6. khichdi, crispy sunchokes with achari mutton accompaniments: 7. hoisin duck kulcha 8. black dairy dal with naan: butter, plain, garlic or black garlic
Great food and innovative service
What an outstanding experience! We had a couple of days in Delhi, and our tour operator said we really had to visit, to the point that he included a booking into our itinerary. He could not have been more right. We had a mixture of the veggie and carnivore menus across our party, and we really could not fault a single dish. Particular praise to the chat (elevated up into the stratosphere from its humble origins), and the crab, and the deep, rich black daal with the main (give me a bucket of the stuff and let me slink off to the telly). Staff were outstanding, and we were treated to a visit by Chef Shantanu in which he really engaged. We were blown away pre main course by being asked if we had particularly enjoyed any of the early courses, and when we praised a couple of them, they produced a further round of those. I have never seen this in a restaurant before. Oh aye and the setting is lovely too!
Good experience
Good lunch good good service good decor good singing good respect good Swimming good membership good 🍵 good very good good
Indian a la Carte
Did the taster menu with Indian wine selections to match every dish. Highly recommend. The ambience, setting & service completed the ticket.
Amazing ....
Fabulous yar ....mind blowing food... staff are very co operative.. planning to visit once again stay as well as for enjoyment...
Incredibly delicious menu.
Phenomenal service. Delicious by-the-glass wine options as well. We took the four tastings ... and found every option to be a magically delicious treat. The desserts were out of this world fabulous -- and I am not a sweets person! Pricy. Highly recommend.
Don’t visit if you have a family - they have a “child” policy which is ludicrous
My husband and I have dined previously dined at the Delhi restaurant twice and once in London (we live there). Today we got turned away from the Delhi one (completely empty at lunch) because my daughter was one year younger than the arbitrary age of 10. I cannot express how disappointed I am such an adultist and discriminatory policy. Every single child is different and your manager conceded today that my daughter is well behaved and in her advocation for her own rights to him, she was mature. You could invite a child who is 12 and still not be as mature as mine. She has dined in michelin starred restaurants around the world since she was 6! Who even came up with this ridiculous policy and why? Then we were told if we’d said she was 10, she would be ID’d! The absurdity of this is just mind blowing. My daughter asked the manager how he would feel if he was told he couldn’t go somewhere because he’s not the right age. If you prefer adults frequenting your restaurant then make it 18+ but an arbitrary cut off of 10 is just plain wrong. Also the receptionist at Lodhi was also condescending asking how old “the baby” was! I have followed you for years and held your food and talent in high esteem until now. Oh and the only reason given was corporate lunches needing a child free space so children should not be seen or heard now? One might argue if I knew of this policy why take my child but I argue that I know my child best and if she can or cannot handle an environment of a so called fine dining place. Quite honestly, she’s probably more articulate and mature than the person who allegedly made up this policy. Absolutely shocking.

This restaurant is pricey, but totally worth it! Each course was delicious, as were the mocktails. And the desserts were phenomenal. Will definitely be back.
The best of Indian
Amazing restaurant, best Indian food ever and excellent service. The price level is certainly high by Indian standards, but it is a top restaurant. All dishes 5/5.

The food is good and the hotel is very comfortable to eat and all my frnds are enjoying .the staff is very good and communicate very well
What a great experience
I had heard great reviews about this restaurant and had built up great expectations. Many times when you do this you are let down, this time the opposite. We were blown away by the quality and the flavours of the food , the good wine pairings and the excellent service. Everything exceeded expectations and I would highly recommend any foodie going to Delhi to try the tasting menu at this restaurant.
My friend and I wanted to definitely try a good fine dine
My friend and I wanted to definitely try a good fine dine Indian restaurant as NYC has so many of them. We decided to go ahead with Indian Accent which has been recognized by Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak. We selected a fixed 3 course dinner menu. They start off my offering a complimentary pumpkin soup and blue cheese balls before the dishes arrive. For appetizers we got beetroot kababs, jackfruit phulka (tacos), tofu medhu vada and pav bhaji. Out of all the appetizers, jackfruit phukla was our favorite. This was a modernized Mexican touch to a chapatti which we really liked. My second favorite was tofu vada. I don't think I ever imagined this combination of having silken tofu with a crispy vada covering. The gunpowder even though was less but very tasty. The pav bhaji was OK in terms of taste but it has to be the tiniest pav I have ever seen! For main course, we got black dal with garlic naan, saag paneer with makhani sauce, wild mushroom kebabs with truffle and mushroom kulcha. I think we liked our apps more than the main dishes. The saag paneer with makhani was our favorite out of the lot! The dal makhani surprisingly was the least favorite as it just did not have any salt. We skipped desert as we'd selected 2 apps each in our 3 course menu as both of us aren't desert people. The service was a bit average. We were a bit pissed when they offered sparkling water bottle without the lid. What's the point of ordering Sparkling water if the fizz can be easily evaporated? Overall, nice sophisticated ambiance. My expectations were slightly higher as this is NYC, taste could be more authentic but at the same time creative. P.S. Indian Accent also has it's branches in New Delhi and Mumbai. I visit Mumbai and Delhi very frequently but had never heard about this place before however they have glorious reviews at both of these places and it is very difficult to get a reservation in India!
My boyfriend is Indian so we eat at a lot of Indian
My boyfriend is Indian so we eat at a lot of Indian restaurants. He had eaten at this restaurant in Delhi so he wanted to try the NYC location. Wow one of the two best Indian restaurants we've eaten at in NYC. I put pictures of everything below. We each had the 4 course and we loved that they let u mix and match. The eggplant "cone" was my absolute favorite but everything was top notch. The restaurant was fancy but still comfortable. It was busy but yet we still felt like we were in a private date. Our server was soooooo attentive and had a great dry sense of humor. Really great expe overall.

#Awesome Place #excellent food
Awesome Ambiance such a positive environment for me and my family to get our dinner such a delicious food for all age group kids as well as adults service was outstanding,I must recommend this place to my dear friends and colleagues. 10 out of 10.
Very good ambience and food
Delicious, loved it. The food tasted very good and the staff are very courteous. We were here for lunch and not much waiting time
Lovely place, amazing food, and great staff.
Maybe it was my party's preference for more traditional Indian cuisine, but this takes a venture to high end Indian cuisine and away from what you come to expect in the States. Only choice was a 3 or 4 course set menu, which wasn't bad for under $100 for each, but it was very heard to decide what was what. At the end, the server helped us out and we were experienced some amazing flavors and exotic dishes. Honestly, this was a great business dinner with my colleagues, but perhaps if I would have been more aware of the high scale offering, I might have chose a bit differently. Regardless, we ultimately truly enjoyed everything and most importantly didn't walk away with any stomach issues afterwards which is a major win for any Indian cuisine. I would be happy to return again someday, now with the necessary expectations.

The service and ambiance were excellent! I enjoyed certain dishes more than others even given the large menu selection. If you sit at the bar you can order a la cart, but if you sit down at a table you have to choose between a 3 or 4 course prix fix menu. The tenderloin came out a little tough for the main course and they swapped it out for us with the prawns very quickly. The mid courses were my favorites actually, especially the prawns and how they were seasoned, but still very crunchy. The bone marrow was also fantastic and the greatest way to add cholesterol to your diet. The pork ribs, though super tender, didn't stand out beyond just falling off the bones in terms of flavor. The kukcha was absolutely delicious for both the duck and butter chicken, but they didn't have very much filling. I really liked the prawn main course also, but it needed a couple more prawns to round it out. The rice was a nice addition, but even with its color, it didn't add anything taste wise to the dish beyond being visually appealing carbs. The desserts were ok, the giant whipped cream was probably the most interesting and felt like barely eating anything. The pecan pie like dessert had great texture, but this was a bonus on the house which I wouldn't have paid for after tasting it. The sago pear was mildly interesting, but wasn't particularly sweet or unique beyond the oversized sago texture. I might go back to try the menu another time, but fantastic to try at least once. The experience was great overall even though I wasn't blown away by every dish.
Really enjoyed my recent dinner here.
The starter of blue cheese stuffed naan and shorba was great, but I'm sure those who don't like blue cheese will be looking forward to the other options. The chaat and vada were really tasty. I wish the bhaaji was spicier, but the mini pavs were unique. The paneer with soy cube was very heavy, but paired well with the naan and daal. We were actually too stuffed to get dessert, which wasn't what we expected, so will have to return to check out their dessert options! Overall a great place to try a fixed menu of Indian food. Reservations needed.
Everything tasted delicious
This must be one of the finest Indian restaurants in Delhi. Presentation exquisite and innovative, although based on traditional dishes and street food. See the photos for some idea of the creativity . Everything tasted delicious, difficult to leave anything even once full. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan options which i loved . Staff are professional, efficient , friendly and helpful explaining all the names of the Indian dishes. Still salivating and look forward to visiting when we return to Delhi, I wouldnt bother looking anywhere else for an incredible dining experience , Thanks to all the team at Indian Accent for a wonderful evening

A delicious experience coupled with great service and
A delicious experience coupled with great service and beautiful ambiance. I tried the brunch tasting menu which was recently introduced by the restaurant. The restaurant came recommended by friends who had tried their dinner tasting menu and found it delicious. The brunch menu consisted of 2 courses with a choice of accompaniment and additional cost for dessert and drinks. Since I came with a group of friends, we got to try almost all the dishes on the menu. Ironically, the amuse bouche was one of the most flavorful dish of the meal. They served the most delicious pumpkin shorba with blue cheese naan. First course: Tried the burrata chaat, dried fenugreek papdi chaat, herb potato sago pancake, pao bhaji. My personal favorite was the burrata chaat. I loved the crispy lotus stem and the mustard-tomato jam/chutney in the dish. The jam was extremely delicious. Second course: Tried the egg ghee roast, uttapam, baked saffron cauliflower, shrimp and herb omlette. For me, the star of the second course was the saffron cauliflower baked dish. I had never had cauliflower with this flavor profile before. I would recommend giving it a try as it's something unique. Accompaniment: Tried the black dairy daal with naan, smoked eggplant and bujia raita, traditional black garlic naan, wild mushroom kulcha. Everything was delicious especially the kulcha and the black daal. Dessert: For dessert we could only try the makhan malai. It was pillowy, light, not overly sweet. I found the brunch tasting absolutely worth it's cost and would recommend it to anyone looking for fushion Indian fine dine.

An incredible high-end Indian restaurant with an incredible tasting menu. Every bite we had was amazing, the service was prompt despite us coming in at 10pm, and the general vibe of the restaurant is a cozy/calm. The food was inventive, eclectic, and still super balanced. I still think about the beet/peanut butter little bites as one of the most interestingly delicious bites I've had in a long time. I'm shocked they don't have a Michelin star, but I would NOT be surprised if it's coming.
Spectacular, inventive Indian cuisine.
My second time solo dining here, both times at the bar. The bar staff has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The cocktails are fantastic.
