Beautiful, southern restaurant
,The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and the food had a nice touch of gourmet southern flair. They were very helpful in ensuring we could get into and out of the restaurant as we had someone with accessibility needs.

The beef tartare and the pig ears lettuce wrap were simply amazing! Southern vegetables change every day and also great. Service was friendly. We are changing our plans right now to be able to come back here on our trip.
Be the first to ReplyOur favorite meal in Nashville
Our favorite meal in Nashville! I was a bit apprehensive with the menu but the staff was very knowledgable and all of their recommendations were top notch. We particularly loved the pig ears and the tomme with beets for apps. For entrees I had the trout with grits and shiitake mushrooms. This umami flavor bomb is probably one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. My husband had the steak which was delicious as well. We also ordered the plate of southern vegetables which we probably didnt need but it was great sampler. Dont miss the peanut butter meringue dessert!

Great meal and service in a lovely historic building. I had the swordfish served with a unique chowder stew. Very tasty.

Absolutely amazing. The food experience is very unique, the space is so great - nothing like I have ever seen before. The staff is fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Evening
We were looking for a quiet restaurant for dinner before a show. Husk is in a beautiful building. We were able to get reservations to the bar for an early dinner. There was nothing disappointing about our experience. There were lovely people sitting around us and the bar tender, Kevin was wonderful. The cocktails were delicious. The food was excellent. The Kentuckyaki Glazed Pig ears were unique and so good. The beet salad was amazing. I’m not sure if you could make a bad choice for dinner. They served the most amazing dessert - it was an earl gray tea rice pudding with lemon curd. I just wish we were in Nashville more nights to have gone back!
Be the first to ReplyFab evening with great food and service
Fantastic locally sourced menu. We shared between our group most of the starters and mains - there wasn’t a bad dish on the menu, everything was delicious. Our server was really engaging and fun and made the evening.
Be the first to ReplyHusk did not disappoint
We went 1/ 23/24. We had reservations at 7:00pm but the walk only took us 10 minutes from our hotel so we arrived closer to 6:15pm. They were kind enough to seat us earlier. We had a very knowable waiter that described each dish perfectly. We had two mixed drinks to start. I requested a very dirty martini. It was good, I prefer dirtier and with a stuffed olive but it was still better than most by a long shot. I had done some research and many of my foodie groups recommended the pork rinds in white sauce. Honestly - very average. It tasted like rinds that I could get at Costco. The sauce was very good but only on 2 of the rinds. I had the trout and my husband had the pork plus we ordered the biscuits. Everything was very good. The service was exceptional and never was there a time that I needed my water filled or felt neglected. I wish we had room for dessert, but sadly we did not. We would go back and will go to their other locations.

Came here for a birthday celebration and I’m so glad I did. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. We started the meal with the bbq pork rinds, bear creek beef tartare and the winter lettuces, followed by the bear creek heritage pork and the bear creek beef. We also got an order of the cheddar biscuits and the southern vegetables. Finished the meal with the molasses custard and the blondie. Everything, and I mean everything, was absolutely delicious. The tartare was a recommendation from our server Jess who also recommended the pork as one of our entrees, both desserts and paired them with an orange blossom wine to finish the night. Jess made excellent recommendations and we finished every last bite. The ingredients were all very fresh and the menu was centered around seasonal flavors and local ingredients. I was also pleasantly surprised to find mead on the menu which is one of my favorite things to drink. The space itself is also very beautiful, set in an old home with exposed brick and polished wood floors. The staff were incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable. I can’t say enough good things about our server and everyone who “touched” our table during dinner. They all wore bright welcoming faces and answered all our questions. They asked about allergies and food aversions right away which made us feel comfortable that we could order without worries. The tables were perfectly manicured and pre-bussed as we finished different items and new flatware between courses. They also gave me a menu with “happy birthday” on the corner and finished the night with a candle on the plate for me (naturally they didn’t want to alter the presentation of the desserts.)

What an amazing place to celebrate a milestone birthday! Talk about Southern cuisine reimagined? It was fabulous. Comfortable, old style setting, wonderfully attentive staff, yet not overbearing and a menu that was both extensive and interesting. Regardless of your entre choices, make sure to order the plate of vegetables. Each of the chefs contribute to this dish and their pride shows! The vegetables and their presentation change each night based on what is freshest and available. Just a lovely evening all around. When we’re back in Nashville, we’ll be back at Husk!
Be the first to ReplyWhen in Nashville again, will definitely go again
Husk was recommended to us by family who ate there a few years ago, and this restaurant continues to be worthy of recommending to anyone who appreciates good food, innovative cuisine and top notch service. That is what we experienced. Nothing I would fault in our experience.
Be the first to ReplyWeird service/ambiance
We had 7:15 reservations. Service, food and ambience was wonderful until about 8:45, when the dining room lights were turned up, someone started vaccuuming upstairs and people started scrubbing down the tables and chairs around us. (Restaurant hours list it as open until 10). We hadn’t finished our main course yet and there were several other tables still seated. We felt rushed out. Certainly not what I expected for spending almost $300!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Another Nashville restaurant that seems to think they are doing you a favor by admitting you. Narrow menu that forces you into non optimal selections. All four of our dishes were average but not without making their ingredient mix complex. No interest in returning.
Be the first to ReplyWell worth it!
Lovely location. Attentive staff and lots of attention to presentation of the meal and taste. Local fare if you like an eclectic meal.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious meals
We have been to Husk a few times and each time we've had lovely meals. The space is nice, especially the we've enjoyed the back patio, the servers are knowledgeable and friendly and most importantly the food is delicious. Since the back patio is not covered, it is only available weather permitting, meaning that we've been able to get a table day of when all the indoor seating has been already reserved. If vegetarian, I would check the menu before hand though. In our recent visit we ordered the vegetarian platter as a sharable for the table and while it was good and had interesting flavors, I probably would not have been satisfied with it as a main course.

Absolutely amazing. Menu was creative and food was beyond delicious. Not sure how the chef thinks of her creations. Pigs ear? Really? Phenomenal Food was so good we had to get dessert. Again, not sure where creativity comes from but incredible Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If you come to Nashville you HAVE to come here
Be the first to ReplyUpscale, classy, southern restaurant
This is a very upscale, southern twist restaurant, with wonderful choices of meat, seafood, and appetizers. Everything was delicious and service was great. Steaks dish and shrimp dish were spectacular.!!! We also love the grits from the appetizer menu.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated and overpriced
This was our second time here. We started with a salad which was good but small for two people. It was very delicate lettuce and we only had about 4 bites each but was nice. For the mains we had shrimp n grits, the strip steak, and the veg plate. The shrimp and grits were ok, nice and tender but extremely tiny. Reminded me of crawfish tails so the shrimp to grit ratio was about 10:90. The strip steak was great! But they gave us 3 slices of a strip steak, one of which was half gristle. That is just unnecessary; charging customers $45 for 3 SLICES FROM A STRIP STEAK. The veg plate was also not even vegetables. It consisted of 3 stodgy fritters, more grits in a sour fennel broth that didn’t go well together, cubed sweet potatoes in some white sauce, more salad with 3 pieces of lettuce, and 3 pieces of grilled cabbage for a whopping $28. Ended up spending $200 for a 2 drinks, an appetizer, 2 mains, and veg. Way overpriced for the quantity and quality of food, wont ever go back. I hope staff will read this: the steak is great but if you charge $45 for a strip steak, customers expect a whole steak.
Be the first to ReplyThoughtful modern food
We had a fantastic experience at Husk. The service was everything you always hope for: knowledgeable, nice and available if needed. The food was simply delicious. Innovative, modern and unique.
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming and overpriced.
The restaurant underwhelmed us in a number of areas. The food was above average, but by no means outstanding. Things were somewhat overpriced for what we were receiving. I was charged $14 for a non alcoholic beverage that I could have bought for under $5 in a store. Our server was continually trying to upsell us, there were two of us and she strongly suggested that we have at least 2-3 starters before our main meal. We won’t be going back.

Everything was so good. Took forever to decide and a hug thank you to our server Dom, he was so helpful. We started with a Ham Plate, Cheese Plate and P. J. Kuhn. The ham was the favorite. Dinner was Strip and Trout with a biscuit plate and vegetable plate. I would pass next time on the biscuit and vegetable; Strip and Trout was excellent. This was my first time to try Vinegar Pie and it will not be my last.
Be the first to ReplyA must-do in Nashville!
Rutledge Hill is a tiny Nashville neighborhood in downtown no wider than six blocks in any direction. But the district’s restaurant game is very strong, including newcomer The Goat, and three absolute legends in Martin’s, 3rd & Lindsley, and Husk. The latter is so highly acclaimed, it easily holds its own against just about any culinary establishment in town. The space exudes southern charm, occupying an old home built in 1882, inhabited by a Nashville mayor, and privately owned until 2012 when Husk bought the house. Just a glance at their nightly and ever changing menu reveals quality, creativity, and a commitment to local foods. Like many high-end restaurants in Tennessee - and fine dining establishments all over the U.S. for that matter - their pork products come from the much heralded Benton’s ham shop in rural Monroe County, Tennessee. The beef comes from Bear Creek Farm just south of Nashville in Williamson County, a staple of upscale local restaurants. Between those two products and the creative fusion of southern flavors, Husk’s menu immediately had my attention. There are four Husk outlets across the South, and Nashville is fortunate to have one. But each location has its own identity, so calling them a chain would be derogatory. These beautifully orchestrated dishes and carefully coordinated wine pairings are nothing shy of genius. Executive Chef Ben Norton was brought in from Charleston in 2021 to uphold their high standards. Despite being the sixth head chef at Husk in about three years, the quality has never skipped a beat, remaining true to legendary chef Sean Brock’s original vision. The restaurant goes the extra mile for freshness, collaborating with local farmers, coordinating seasonal foods at their peak, and even growing their own herbs outside the business in the heart of an urban setting. Their attention to detail is stunning. After an exquisite evening of dining at Husk, I’m compelled to rank them among my top five upscale restaurants in Nashville with the likes of Kayne Prime, Bourbon Steak, and The Optimist. I simply cannot give them four stars considering the fabulous service, the incredibly knowledgeable server, the clever dishes, and the stellar quality of everything we ate. If you have a meal comparable to ours, with tax and tip, you’d be looking at right around $100 per person. And Husk is worth it. Two of us shared two appetizers, including 12-month aged Benton’s ham, sliced thin like prosciutto served with soft rolls to assemble your own little sandwiches. We also shared the cheese plate with some exquisite selections of cheddar and blue cheese. Our entree was a small sampling of a Bear Creek strip steak in a brown butter sauce with a horseradish foam and sautéed Jerusalem artichokes. I’d put the steak alone in Nashville’s top three. We placed two orders for their legendary cheddar buttermilk biscuits - four total - which have been ranked by Eater.com among the top ten in a city known for biscuits! They have a hearty and thick texture with a hint of cheddar, buttery and tender and certainly among the best I’ve had. We finished with the vinegar pie, a slightly acidic dessert that slightly resembles a key lime pie but not as citrusy nor as strong. It just melts in your mouth like a chess pie, but thicker like a cheesecake, accentuated with a rose flavored whipped cream. If you need to narrow down the extensive culinary scene in Nashville, Husk is definitely a must-do!
Be the first to ReplyOne-of-a-kind dining experience
Everything about Husk is top-notch. It’s a bit far removed from downtown and Broadway, but I think that kinds of adds to its charm. I’m a big fan of the historical aspect - the architecture for both the interior and exterior are stunning. We fortunately sat at the lower level, and were under the high vaulted ceilings. The sky was clear and blue, and there was lots of natural light in the dining area which really enhanced the experience. The food was unbeatable too. Husk’s take on an espresso martini was so good I had two! We started off with the monkey bread, which was excellent. I had a duck confit toast which was very innovative and delicious. My dad had a trout roll which was great too. Husk is the perfect embodiment of southern cuisine – we are huge fans!
Be the first to ReplyThe Worst
I am 83 and I have gone to thousands of food places from stands in India, China, etc. to 5 star Michelin in Europe. Last week my son, friend and myself went to the Nashville Husk. It was the worst place I ever went. On a scale of 1 to 10 it is minus 1,000,000. I ordered the signature fried chicken. The batter was so thick and hard I cold not ever bite into the pieces. The food was the crappiest anyone could ever make. If you go there you will be more than sorry you did so. I would use dirty words but tha could not convey how bad this place is.
Be the first to ReplyLoved everything about the restaurant
What a great dinner! We loved the ambiance - very casual and low key, but very well done. Food and drinks were very creative and fresh, and excellent. I had the trout - they put fish roe on it which gave it an amazing texture and touch of saltiness - very creative and very good! And service was fantastic as well. Super friendly, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. We will definitely go back again!
