They lack transparency.
I come to find out I was charged $360 for parking fees. They failed to tell me while I was checking in. I reached out to them about this after seeing this bill and they won't do anything about it. Very disappointing. This was our baby moon/wedding trip. Thanks Hilton for giving us something to remember you by.
Be the first to ReplyLove the destination and beach area.
In Waikiki this hotel offers the best beach area as it is deep and hasn't been washed away. Resort elevator system in the rainbow towers is horrible though, which is why it is 4 stars instead of 5.
Be the first to ReplyThis was our second time staying at the Hilton Hawaiian
This was our second time staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was very busy when we arrived on Mother's Day. Our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags and headed to lunch as we were hungry from a long day of travel. Tropics is a beach front restaurant and it offers a variety of comfort foods. As we were eating we received a text that our room was ready. Our room was ample for our stay - two queen beds, small refrigerator, and we got a partial ocean view. We noticed there were no top sheets on the beds, only a comforter which was odd. We called and asked for top sheets which we got on our first room cleaning. I also noticed a bunch of hair stuck to the shower wall....really gross that the shower wasn't completely cleaned. They also cleaned that the next morning. Overall our stay was nice with everything we needed was on the property. We visited the Starbucks daily and ABC store was nice for the smaller things we needed. The hospitality was top notch too, great staff!
Be the first to ReplyThere are more negatives about this place and positives.
So let's start off by saying if you have a little ones this is the place to go, just for the pools. if you get a balcony with an ocean view, that is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is beautiful. Now let's talk about the negatives : 1. They do not have laundry for their guest. you have to pay for a Service to do your laundry. Even though it says there is laundry, there is none. 2. Every store asked you to tip, whether or not they did a service for you or not. I went into a grocery store to buy an umbrella, They ask me for a tip. When you don't tip them, their whole attitude changes. 3. There was no microwave. 4. The prices for food is ridiculous. For a breakfast, we paid 100 some dollars. ThereThere was only two of us. If you come to the resort, be prepared to budget for at least $7000 just for food. If you're looking to save money, stay at an Airbnb and swim in the ocean. Do not stay at this place. They nickel and dime you for every literal thing. I have regrets.
Be the first to ReplyStaying here has been a nightmare.
The noise pollution echoing up, amplified by the towers, supplied by the mediocre bands they have play at Hau Tree Cantina from 6p-10p EVERY.SINGLE. NIGHT ruins any chance of sleep. Which for folks on west coast time means we (& our kids) are kept up from 9p-1am. It's f'ing awful, & absolute torture. Those bands are entertaining no more than 50-100 people, but the incessant noise pollution they create negatively impacts hundreds of people. It's especially horrible due to our children not getting any sleep during prime bedtime hours. Sunday nights are even more excruciating, as the competing luau on the roof of the parking garage in conjunction with the band's amplified 'music' makes the noise level unbearable and today, we have had to deal with those two things along with a high-pitched alarm that has been echoing up the towers since 8am. We're at 13 hours of this alarm ~ that no one has done anything to sort it out. I've called and complained to the front desk and they wanted to know if I wanted to speak to security..? No. I want you to deal with it. I don't work here. Staying here is the opposite of a vacation. Avoid at all costs unless you like to feel stressed out and enjoy very little sleep. Zero stars.

Came for our 11yr anniversary, hotel wasn't bad but could be better, we stayed in the Kahlia Tower which appears to be an older tower, I base this off the fact that the carpet doesn't look to have been replaced in many many years. The room itself was clean however I booked a king size bed and felt like I was given a queen as it was much smaller bed than what I have at home. The pillows were horrible, very flat and you had to pile 3 on top of one another to get a solid pillow, I actually ended up take a cushion from the couch and using it as a pillow. The pull out bed from the couch was also a issue, we pulled it out just to look at it and all these crumbs fell out from the couch, you can tell they don't get much attention at all. Bedding in both the main bed and pull out bed had stains, I've never understood why hotels use white sheets and comforters all the time, the down cover from the bed was tucked into a cover but once it came out of the cover you could tell it hadn't been washed frequently. The AC in the room was finicky, the fan wouldn't turn up past a light flow no matter how much I pushed high fan that fan never kicked it. The amenities included a in room refrigerator, tv and pool use. We did go down to the super pool but it was super gross, the water was cloudy and you could tell ppl where using the pool as a rinse off area from the beach because there was a lot of sand in the bottom of the pool plus the pool had a slimy feel to it...not the best. The room was good for what we needed it...sleep. I wouldn't come back to stay here.
Be the first to ReplyIf you want peace and to enjoy your vacation, DON'T COME
If you want peace and to enjoy your vacation, DON'T COME HERE!!!! The place is crawling with children and parents who want a break from parenting them. In turn, they let them run rampant. The hotel is extremely crowded. They might as well call it a city not a village. There is only 1 adult pool which is not just the smallest, but also closes at 6:00 PM. You're honestly better off at a motel or even sleeping on the street. We'll never be back
Be the first to ReplyThey stole a pair of leggings from our room.
We were with a group and they also stole a necklace from another room. The food was pricy and not great. The rooms were nice but not worth it. Parking is $70 a day.
Be the first to ReplyWe love the hotel and resort.
.. but this review is to single out Carolyn at the Paradise Pool. She is the most engaging, friendly person. I have personally seen her handle very rude guests with class and ease. They can't possibly be paying her enough! She is a major reason we will come back and stay again!

What has happened to this hotel? This was our third stay at the Rainbow tower and we were so terribly disappointed, and I've decided my loyalty to the Hilton brand is not worth it. I'm a diamond member with 86+ nights at Hilton in the past year, and I've seen the decline at many Hilton properties, but I can't believe how far this resort has fallen. Why did we come back? We loved the view of Diamond Head from the Rainbow tower and the convenient location on Waikiki beach. While you don't need to leave the village, you are so close to all the dining and shopping and it would be foolish to pay for the mediocre food on site. Yes, it is a very crowded resort, but we knew that and were fine. We also expected the room to be small and perhaps outdated, but we did not expect a dirty room. The walls were stained with chipped and peeling paint. The rug was filthy. You would not dare walk barefoot here. The patio was covered with pigeon poo and virtually unusable. The TV is outdated with no streaming capability, and has a DVD player, thank you very much! Hilton's cost cutting was on display everywhere. While the bed has a sheet to sleep on, there is no top sheet, and you are expected to sleep with the comforter covering your body. Gross and I'm sure the comforters are not cleaned between guests. Pillows and matress old. Towels thread bare. Coffee in the room not replenished. Hilton Gold/Diamond guests are supposed to receive two bottles of water when checking in, not a big deal but here it is. They are no longer given unless you go to the time share desk and do a survey. No thank you. There is no aloha at the front desk when checking in. No acknowledgement or thanking for repeat stays. No upgrades, in fact I have not received a single upgrade at any Hilton during the past year despite numerous stays. Diamond members are supposed to receive upgrades if available, they never are, unless you state you are willing to pay for one. Shame on Hilton. I tried to call guest services and the front desk, but the phones in the room don't work. The line to speak to someone at the front desk would take a half hour to wait. I did complain to the concierge who could barely muster an apology. No Aloha, no service here. Prices are egregious. Hilton has done away with a free breakfast for loyalty members and has done away with all buffets at this resort. See photos of the breakfast menu, breakfast for two will cost you north of $100. Thankfully all the nicer hotels on the beach still do offer luxurious breakfasts at affordable prices. We ended up going to Dukes for a lavish buffet at $25. The lobby there was clean and beautiful and I was questioning why I was staying at the Hilton if I had to walk elsewhere for breakfast. Don't forget the daily resort fee, and parking is now $72-$82 a day, more than double the price of our rental car! This last stay at the Rainbow tower has really soured me on Hilton. I've been loyal to the brand, but this stay has ended it. Cost cutting, dirty and in disrepair, price gouging at every turn. I'll use my points up and explore other options going forward. This stay has totally turned me off to the Hilton brand. If you are considering this hotel, please research and consider other options.
