Wonderful discovery!
Excellent service, food was delicious and well priced. The restaurant has a cool vintage vibe, very clean, lovely menu choices, thoroughly enjoyable. Canโt believe weโve never been to this place before. We will be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyWaisted morning!
Had a terrible experience, had been out fishing and was starving, waited a while after been seated for a waitress to even noticed us, once we placed our order 10 , 20,30 minutes when by and no food at all , but did notice others that got there after had been served, so finally decided to call a different waitress over and ask to see what was up with our food, but seem no one knew and our waitress seemed lost , so we decided to get up and leave !seem order never got place to the kitchen!twaisted about an hour of our time and we were still starving!
Be the first to ReplyDONT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!
Absolutely the worst service ever! Placed a breakfast order about 20 minutes after arrival (had to wait for waitress to come over) waited another 1/2 hour and noticed people who had placed orders after us being served. Asked about our food and were told another 10 minutes or so. We ended up leaving almost an hour after arriving. No food ever got to our table!!! Waitress appeared overwhelmed with her job and was so slow and unorganized. Perhaps more staff and better training would help. Won't be going there again! Ridiculous amount of wasted time!!๐ก๐ก
Be the first to ReplyOvercooked Fish
We usually have breakfast here. I have been going for many years. We decided to try lunch food. My sister ordered a French Dip, She said it had a good flavor. But the beef was overcooked and crispy. I had the Fish and Chips. The fish was very dark brown and overcooked. The fish was very chewy and dried out. The Clam Chowder came was OK. It came lukewarm. The wait staff was very good and friendly.

We had 15 people for dinner and both food and service were exceptional. Thank you and we'll be back!

From service to food, everything was just right. The bartender nailed the B52 coffees, and our son's coke on ice was refilled several times. The waitress set us immediately and was friendly and prompt. Food was great, and we took desserts home with us. A great time from start to finish.
Be the first to ReplyPrime rib for the uninformed
I roast my own prime rib at home, so I have a sense of the difficulty in delivering a medium rare slice to the table. I've also eaten in enough restaurants to get some hints as to how they can try to manage this trick. One technique cooks the roast to rare then reheats the slice to the proper level of doneness once a customer orders the dish. The meat that results from this method does not arrive at the table with a lovely pink color. Rather it has a grey cast even though the center may be pink. That's how our meat looked, and we sent it back to the kitchen. The replacement looked just fine, and the server was very apologetic.
Be the first to ReplyCharged us $350 for an extra (Empty Plate) ???
We had heard from some friends that the Hilltop had pretty good food. We were out one day in early January and decided to check it out, for Lunch. The place was fairly crowded and had a cozy ambiance, we were promptly seated. Upon looking at the menu I decided on a Cobb Salad. My wife had a bit of a queasy stomach, and decided that she would just share a bit of my salad. I had no problem with this. So we ordered The Cobb salad and a couple of beverages. and explaining the situation to the waitress, asked for an extra side plate. We received everything in decent time. and were given an extra large dinner plate instead of a side plate, which we thought was odd. However she took a tiny bit of the salad and I ate the rest. The salad was decent, not great. When finished , we requested the bill. Upon looking at the bill we noticed that there was an extra charge of $3.50 on the bill for an extra plate. I had never heard of anything like this before so I called over the waitress and pointed this out to her. Very curtly she said "we have a policy, that we charge extra for an extra plate" I said I can see you charging extra for splitting a meal, but for an extra side plate?? I asked her why she didn't mention it when we ordered. She went over and grabbed a menu, and pointed out a small note in the lower corner that said extra plate $3.50. and off she went. We had both missed this note and if I had seen it I would have likely dismissed it as meaning "splitting meal" We are middle aged people and have traveled around the planet quite a bit,and have never come across this before.Spoiled an otherwise decent meal Very petty and not customer friendly .We Wont be back!

We sometimes go down the highway into Washington on our motorcycles. We had some oysters and chips in the restaurant. I like large Pacific oysters and when we ordered them they were kind of on the small size. Server without even asking said they were on the smaller size and brought out large, juicy and tasty oysters which we ate with gusto. Will definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely horrid experience!
I haven't been to the Hilltop in many years, took a friend for "brunch" who had never been. So very sorry we wasted our time and money. The waitress (Angela B) was extremely rude - she passed by our table three times without even speaking. After we waited 11 minutes, I finally asked if she could take our order. She replied "oh you're next." The restaurant was not busy and had several empty tables. We waited 44 minutes for our food! I finally asked Angela if she could check on our order and her reply was "oh you'r next." When she delivered the plates they were scalding hot and the eggs on both plates were totally dried out and crunchy on the top. The toast was cold. Those plates had definitely been sitting for quite awhile. We noticed that customers who were seated after us were waited on before us and received their food in a very timely manner. Neither I nor my friend will ever visit this location again.
