The food is fresh and delicious, seems pretty healthy, good size portions. I love the locally sourced ingredients. The ambiance is casual community favorite. Not at all pretentious, despite the high quality of the food.

I didn't know that the fish would be pink & served barely warm. 'Not to my liking, & I didn't have time to have it warmed/heated more fully. I'm not likely to visit again. Sad about that.

Everything we ordered was tasty but took a bit of time. The highlight was the soft serve ice cream. My complaint overall was that the service was slow and also they didn't have pitchers you could fill for water. So every time you wanted to refill your water you needed to get up and refill it.
Great place to get quality food- kid and dog friendly.
There's a nice shaded back area that has two levels, with games on the lower deck. There's also a service window on the back of the restaurant so you can get an ice cream or drink without going back up to the front. Very nice on a hot day.

I had a great experience at this place! The tostada, soft serve, and watermelon juice were all fresh and delicious, perfect for a hot day. The outdoor space is lovely, and playing ping pong added to the fun atmosphere. The only downside was that the prices felt a bit high for the portion sizes. Despite that, I would definitely return to try more items and enjoy the ambiance again.

The food was very good and prepared quickly. I mistakenly ordered pork tacos instead of fish and they were replaced without fuss. That level of service is pretty rare, so, well done Handline! Gorgeous food that exemplifies great California Cuisine - seasonal, local dishes made with the freshest ingredients, ordered at a counter and brought to you in a casual backyard setting with communal as well as smaller tables. I ordered a sautéed mushroom dish with fresh spring peas that was mind-blowing - I could eat it over and over and never get tired of it - and my companion had the seafood stew, with lovely fresh mixed seafood. Bizarrely, this stew is served with corn tortillas, which just don't work at all with this dish, and there's no bread available at the restaurant that could sop up the yummy fennel-infused tomato broth - this is a real misfire, and seems both willful and deeply misguided of the chef. Our big side order of fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the Strauss soft serve ice cream is a homey touch.

Everything. It's very casual but the food is stupendous. The staff are happy, friendly, and knowledgeable. Order at the counter then grab a seat and they'll bring your food out when it's ready. They have a nice selection of oysters you can order on the half shell. The ceviche was perfectly balanced with bright citrus and fresh fish paired with the light crunch of house made tostada chips. The pastor tacos though... Oh man. I'll be dreaming of these for a while, I'm sure. Never had pastor like this before. The pork was cut into bite size pieces and heavily spiced with bold flavors, then crisped up perfectly. When I say perfectly, I mean they've cracked the code at Handline. These tiny little bites sized morsels were unbelievably crispy on the outside but still tender and juicy on the inside. Just heavenly. All that wrapped up in a delicious house made tortilla and topped with green salsa and pickles red onions. Recommend you hit these with a little of their house made orange hot sauce to complete the experience. They have a good beer and wine selection which seemed well curated for their menu. The menu itself is small, which I like. It allows them to focus on the dishes they do well. Sebastopol is kind of a foodie destination these days, so it'll be hard not to return here when there's so many more restaurants I want to try, but Handline's appeal is clear. Incredible food and drink in a casual setting.

They have a fun selection of local beer and wines as well which is great! The staff is so friendly and it is a very cute ambience. Another huge plus is their soft serve, you really can't go wrong here. Definitely recommend, you won't be disappointed

Despite it being a place where you order then find a seat, the service was still attentive and the noise level was low. They also have covered outdoor seating so you can sit outdoors even when it's raining.

I keep wanting to like Handline as it exists in a small town with only a few good restaurants and having another choice would be nice, but I am never going there again after my meal last night. I ordered the fisherman's stew as I wanted something light and hot. The server brought me a large bowl of what appeared to be watered down tomato juice studded with mainly calmari rings and some very small shellfish I could not identify. The one and only flavor I could get from the "stew" was that of salt. What a missed opportunity to make a balanced, flavorful dish. The fish itself is pretty tasteless so you want some interest from the liquid it was cooked in, but there was none. More importantly it wasn't a stew at all, because if it were it would have been thickened from long, slow cooking, although without the appropriate aromatics and vegetables the liquid would not have been improved anyway. I have always felt that there was no philosophy to the cooking approach here and no chef or even lead cook who wants to turn out good food. They are hyper-local with their wine list and even given the limitations of that, their wines are laughable examples of what the area can produce-I have tasted about 15 of them over my visits as they do fortunately allow tasting first, and I have never had even one I wanted to drink. I have not been able to understand or support what they are doing with their wine program-it is so bad it is embarassing-why don't they want to offer drinkable wines in the heart of Sonoma County? Now I have to remember not to return. I reminded myself after a previous visit that I did not want to come back but was staying at a hotel next door due to power outage at my home, and returned as it was so convenient and nothing else is open on Monday nights. I hope I don't repeat that little episode of amnesia so that I can save myself the experience of another bad meal.

We are so thankful for their kindness in the kitchen and at the bar for the Strauss ice. Cream. It made such a difference in our evening in the plus!!! Thank you and we are further hooked on Handline as our go-to special occasions restaurant !!!
I don't think Handline needs any promotion.
.. it is rightfully super popular (among locals & visitors alike) but you can get stuck ordering the wrong thing here... so my post is to help you make good choices. Handline offers top notch ceviches... like seriously, seriously good... and the fish & chips are elite (local, organic heirloom potatoes)... however the fish tacos are not very good. The handmade tortilla is not properly warmed up; their guac is pretty terrible, and the overall ratio of fillings just doesn't work. Back to the positive side, their House Salad (dressed with Vegan crack i.e., their garlicky Braggs + Nutritional Yeast sauce) is almost good enough to convince you that going vegan wouldn't be the end of the world; also their Roots & Shoots, & their Pumpkin with Mole & other veggie centric dishes are absolutely top notch. And continuing with the negative side... their Wine & Beer program is horrible... like if if you tried to really hard to come up with a White Elephant gift of Beers & Wines.... it would probably be Handline's incomprehensible list of cheesy or kombucha esque Natural Wines, terrible beers etc., @Handline you are trying too hard, with so many good local beers & wines.... you should be able to launch darts and come up with something decent. Further, the burgers are not it... they would probably be okay, but they insist on ruining them by slathering them with cheese that otherwise belongs in very small quantities on a cheese plate. I don't get it... there can't possibly be a single person that has truly enjoyed their burgers.. how can they still be on the menu. Along the same lines... skip the Al Pastor & warm stewed squid dishes. Finally, to end on a positive note... their Strauss creamery frozen cones are perfection... seriously, all the idiots are standing in long lines over at Screamin Mimi's but Handline's cones are the real deal.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
