We booked for 2 people and
We booked for 2 people and had the 8 course omakase. The food was the highest in quality and combination of flavours so unique that we hardly spoke to each other because we were busy savoring the taste. We sat in a private room and Chef Takayama personally came in and presented a few dishes, we had a good conversation with him at the end too. The staff were attentive but never intrusive, ensuring we didnโt have to wait for the next dish, and our glasses always full. Fine food and classy service, we will definitely be back!

Group of 7 of us only people in the restaurant, had an 8 course Omakase dinner, excellent sashimi throughout, sperm was on the menu! Beef was the only course that was good only. Chef takayama was friendly and engaging, helpful w pairings. Lots of home made items in terms of sauces. Must visit again.

Never fails to impress on every occasion. Should be on the Michelin Star soon. Very unique ingredients that are usually not found in Singaporeโs Japanese fine dinning restaurant. Takayama spends lots of efforts and soul in his cuisine.

A very welcoming restaurant. We brought our own bottles and they provided the right glassware. The chef also showed appreciation for one of the rare champagnes that we brought. The dinner was well thought out - each course had its own appeal, texture and mix of flavors. Although i am partial the Kyoto Kaiseki, I found this Kappo cuisine refreshing and unpretentious. The chef explained each course carefully and had a good sense of humor. My only problem is that there was so much to eat. After the mid point of the meal I was full.

Quality Japanese cuisine and an entertaining chef! What more can we ask for! My friends and I took the counter seats and the chef personally explained the ingredients used in each course. He was attentive and took note of our responses (obvious or subtle) when we savour each course. We had an enjoyable dinner and awesome chat with the chef! Will definitely be back!

I went to this place from a friends recommendation and what a great evening. This is by far the best original Japanese restaurant I Asia and I will even put it as one of the best I have tried. There is only seating for 10 people with The kitchen in the center. There are 3 menus and we took no 2 as you need to preorder the big one. It is a true test of your senses and the chef delicately combine taste and look. Itโs simply a must in Singapore and I canโt wait to come back.

Celebrated my brother's birthday here. Great fresh ingredients, with the highlight being the sashimi platter. The accompanying sauces and foams were unique and paired perfectly with the fish. Would definitely pay a revisit!

Opened at the start of the year, Takayama at OUE Downtown Gallery has been one of the few Japanese restaurant penciled into my bucket list of restaurants to visit this year. Offering a Kappo-styled dining experience, savour, discover the taste and artistry of flavours curated by Chef Taro and his team. 2 and a half hour, 11 courses and 6 alcohol pairing later, we came to an end to possibly one of my favourite meal of the year.
