Was our first time dining at Grassa- it will definitely be a popular destination for my next visit in Vancouver. We chose our meals and ordered inside, then seated ourselves outside on the patio in the Sun!! Our meals were delicious and the presentation as pleasing also! My carbonara was superb- noodles were perfect, and with the egg on top- Fantastic!! The cashier that helped was friendly- Vivyka helped us navigate the menu. The location along the waterfront is nice for strolling after you dine!!

Got Carbonara and fussily vodka. The service was great, we ordered food and drinks at the register, we sat down and sipped our beer/cider/waters...waited for our food to arrive. The ambience was great...we sat outside and had a view of the waterfront.

Yes! We are so glad that Grassa has crossed the river! The homemade pastas are phenomenal! The pumpkin spice fritters weren't my favorite but they grew on me the more I ate them. The fusilli was sooo delicious and perfectly spicy! The highlight was definitely the chittara! Such a unique flavor and so satisfying!

It was my first time going to the Vancouver location and would definitely be back. They have lots of indoor seating and plant decor that really add to the ambience of the restaurant. We ordered the squid ink and it was so tasty and had a spice to it. The carbonara is always a must, in my opinion. The food came out so quickly after we ordered at the counter. The garlic bread is also the perfect addition!

Be the first to ReplyGreat location and ambience.
We ordered a couple of pastas, some garlic bread and a Caesar salad. The pastas were really good, the garlic bread average and overpriced. This brings me to the Caesar salad....this had waaay too much cheese but that wasn't the end of it..it was the food poisoning I got as a result of it. Pretty sure got it here as hadn't eaten anywhere else the whole day before and after eating here. Ridiculous that this place prices premium and clearly is not maintaining food hygiene standards!!!

Meatballs: 7/10, good appetizer and size, not dreaming about them but would possibly order again if we were in the mood garlic bread: 7/10, good but not amazing but totally worth it to get all the sauce off your plate, for the price I think it makes sense to get it squid ink linguine: 9/10, the BEST cook on shrimp we have ever had. the sauce was flavorful with a hint of spice. the only reason it's not a 10/10 was that we felt the noodles were a touch too toothy. 40 seconds longer and it would hit the nail. could have just been the night, it was packed. either way, it's a must order for us and we will be back for this dish specifically!

I had the meatball side and potato gnocchi both made from scratch, and they were to die for! Takes a little while to get your food but that's due to its homemade nature so no complaints there. PS - the homemade lemonade is to die for!! 10/10 recommend Grassa

Came here on a quiet Friday afternoon before our Salt and Straw Yelp experience and just a good no fuss no muss dining time. Quiet weekdays are great for easy parking and fast meals. We each a beer and a pasta dish (see pasta dishes below) and shared a cauliflower/radicchio salad. The best thing was the salad in this order, but would come back and dine here if I was in the area. The rigatoni ragu was good but the ragu could be a little more tender. Otherwise, no complaints. Great chill ambiance and service!

What a great experience. You view the menu and order your food and drinks from a very nice team member. You get a number and choose a seat to sit. They bring your food to you. From the get-go, everyone was very informative and helpful. We did not wait long to order or CR food. Which is all made fresh ! We started off with a couple of grassa white wines. Pretty tasty and reasonably priced. After we found our seat very shortly, our chop salad came. Very nice salad with Canelli beans in it and a tangy salad dressing. A good size for us to share. We also ordered the eggplant. Wow, this was delicious. Beautifully fried eggplant. That was crispy. Still with the tomato Ragu. Beautiful dollop of fresh ricotta. Cheese on top. Absolutely yummy. The second thing we had was the handmade propel with truffles. This was our favorite thing. The noodles were so tender and deliciously flavorful. The sauce was amazing! Winner for us. We ordered a special for the week, dumpling week, it was kind of like a hot pocket but way better. Tender flaky dough shaped in a triangle stuffed with some pretty tasty pepperoni. It was crispy but yet tender. I liked it. We enjoyed every dish very much. We got extra little plates and just shared everything so we could taste it all! I definitely would come back here. The view is really nice, the inside is bright and welcoming. The staff are efficient and friendly. I really like the handmade pasta and so I will definitely go back to try some other things.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely loved the Cesar salad (minus anchovies).
The cheesy garlic bread had the perfect bite. The carbonara looks better then it tasted. Lacked basic seasoning. The Cesar truly was the star. The service was alright. Didn't feel welcoming.

A casual place, suitable for friends getting together and kids. Service is acceptable. Plenty of parking all around for $2 per hour.
Be the first to ReplyYummy! This place def hit the spot on my last trip.
We weren't really feeling burgers or seafood so fresh pasta was it for us. They had a nice selection of beers and a variety of pasta dishes. Not the biggest menu but it got to the point. I had the rigatoni pasta with "Sundays pork ragu" and it was yummy! Did I desire and could I have eaten a larger portion? Yes, but should I? No. It was the perfect serving for 1. They had 10 entree options and a few appetizers & salads. Inside was clean, bright, and open.

Amazingly great addition to the Vancouver Waterfront! Grassa is a superb place for superb handmade pastas, meatballs and Caesar salad! The cocktails are so fun and the garlic bread cannot be missed!Staff is very friendly and super helpful. Has become one of our weekly go to restaurants for lunch or dinner. Now we just need a Lardo's in Vancouver!
Be the first to ReplyA staggering disappointment.
If you've never had Grassa in Portland, this place might be acceptable. But if you've ever had the real thing, you'll know how much of a disappointment this place is.I had a reservation at Dosalas across the street, when I saw Grassa. Having not had it in years, I decided to go there instead. Big mistake. We ordered our food and drinks, and the first course came out pretty quickly. Then we waited 35 minutes for anything else. We sipped our cocktails, noting just how bad the "Italian Margarita" turned out to be, waiting for our food. When it finally arrived, my pasta was somehow both hot and undercooked, while my husband's was *literally* cold. The Grassa meatballs were a firm, tasteless husk of their former glory. The garlic bread had no seasoning. My pork belly Mac and cheese was the most disappointing of all. The pasta tasted a day or two old. The pork belly was not properly rendered, leaving it rubbery and fatty. Just a sad, sad way to spend $80 on a birthday meal. The Brussels were good. The first thing we ate, 35 minutes before anything else arrived.Anyway, big, big disappointment. I don't anticipate ever coming back.
Be the first to ReplyFinally stopped in for lunch on a Sunday around 11:30.
This place has been on my list since they first opened. It is located on the Vancouver Waterfront. It's a block behind the restaurants with a view. There is street parking and pay lot available. We walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful. You place your order at the counter, you're given a number, and then you find a seat. They have both booths and tables available for indoor seating. Outdoor seating is available as well. We ended up ordering the Caesar salad, brussel sprouts, spaghetti al pesto, and garlic bread. Hubby ordered a rosemary sour. They have a water station with glasses and carafes available. The salad and brussel sprouts came out first. Wow, both were fresh and delicious! We devoured them. We shared the spaghetti al pesto and garlic bread. The garlic bread bag comes with 2 generous pieces, so it worked out well. The pesto pasta dish included zucchini spirals, toasted hazelnuts, fresh basil strips, and mozzarella fonduta. It was a delightful combo. Perfect size for sharing, too!Overall, we really enjoyed our first time here. Awesome service, fresh ingredients, and decent prices. We're already talking about what we want to try next time! Highly recommend.

Loved this place for both the flavor of the food and the price of it! As someone who was traveling from California, Italian food is mostly super expensive and can be expect to pay a high price. So when I discovered this, I fell in love for the fast casual yet fine dining of this restaurant! The cashiers and the employees were definitely knowledgeable about the food and was able to help me narrow out what dish to order. I was not disappointed with my order and experience at this restaurant! Highly recommend and would definitely go back!

LOVE it here! Ordered the grilled mustard greens, caesar salad and fritto misito to start out. Best calamari dish I've had anywhere. Entrees we had were the squid ink chitarra and the rigatoni. Both were flavorful and great meals to have on a rainy afternoon. Will definitely be coming back!

Attempted another dinner here and the jazz music in background was so loud my group couldn't gave a nice relaxing conversation ~. Back to driving to the Portland location.
Be the first to ReplyThis was a very nice place with great food.
I got the pork belly mac and cheese and it was delicious. The pork belly was both sweet and salty and the cheese was not overwhelmingly cheesy. I would definitely recommend it. 5/5 would eat here again.
