George's Little Rock Reviews from The Last Year
Our first visit (September 2023) was lovely.
The Speak Easy was a pleasant surprise for pre-dinner drinks. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant as well as the service and the reason why we chose to make another reservation in July 2024. Again, we started with drinks at the Speak Easy - wonderful drinks and our server was friendly and attentive. I'm sorry to say that the restaurant really let us down. The breading on the chicken parm literally just fell off when cutting the chicken and the meat itself was dry. I ordered the sea scallops special (entree). I have a strong aversion to anything in the onion family. I specifically asked our server if the dish had onions, he said no just capers. He was wrong. The medley had red onions. It ruined the dish for me. The star of our meal was the marscapone cheesecake. While it was amazing, it didn't make up for the other mishaps. On the fence if we're give them a third try.
I have a reservation tonight.
It was easy to obtain. Will write a review tomorrow about CD the experience.
Worst meal I have had in recent memory.
Very expensive and incredibly small portions.

My husband and I had a great experience at George's! The service was excellent. I got the blue crab carbonara and it was delicious. We shared the garlic focaccia and zucchini fries and loved them both. Finished off the meal with the cannoli which were really good as well. We will definitely be back.

"Our Driveway Pizzas are a cross between a Sicilian and Detroit Pizza. Thicker, fluffier crust with crispy, cheesy edges." Had the "Sicilian/Detroit Style pizza the other night. Have to say, I was pretty excited to learn that we can now get Detroit Style pizza in Little Rock. Unfortunately after looking at it then taking a bite my excitement turned to grave disappointment! First of all let me be 100% clear: there is NOTHING Detroit style about this abomination. How do I know? I'm from Detroit and have eaten this style pie for as long as I can remember. Buddy's, Shields, Cloverleaf; REAL Detroit style pizza. Let's get into it shall we? First of all it was clear they do NOT use the very specific rectangular baking pan. This is very important for the heat transfer and caramelizing the ends. This "pie" was square. The dough: Was light and fluffy like basic French bread. And WAY to thick. NOT dense and crunchy like it's supposed to be. Did NOT have "crispy, cheesy edges". Cheese: they may have gotten the cheese blend right (WI brick, mozzarella, etc) but hard to tell because the crust was so bad. However, they skimped on the cheese as some corner prices barely had any at all. After suffering through 1 slice I threw the rest in the trash can. I will give them a pass on calling it Sicilian Pizza (pan-sheet pizza) but PLEASE George, REMOVE THE WORD DETROIT FROM YOUR DESCRIPTION. This is NOTHING that remotely resembles real Detroit style pizza. You're giving people the wrong interpretation. You're misrepresenting REAL DSP! You are merely attempting to capitalize on the growing trend of DSP. Realistically, you don't have to go to Detroit to get D style pizza. Different Dough in Bryant makes a very legit version using the RIGHT pan, etc. And I've had real good DSP in Dallas and Cincinnati too. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT order this mess from George's.

The service and food were both wonderful! Whether it's the main dining room or the Barnaby, the surroundings were beautiful as well. Looking forward to trying the patio in this warm weather!
My thoughts on Georges Speakeasy: it's an interesting
My thoughts on Georges Speakeasy: it's an interesting diversion while waiting for the table. Janie and I had Sazerac's, and they were well made. Ambiance: clearly, the owners put great focus on the visuals, and it has been carefully and thoughtfully designed. Service: our server (John) was excellent. Very attentive and responsive and knew the menu well. Menu: It's a bit of a mix and does not seem to represent a particular region or style of Italian cooking. There are many "Americanized" dishes. Many restaurants try to make it sound more Italian by organizing Primi/secondi/contorni/dolce sections. This is also true at Georges, with the addition of a "Georges signature" section. The confusing part is that most of the dishes are relatively large, and they plan on patrons ordering from EITHER primi or Secondi. I lump this into marketing staff helping create a menu, but it is more confusing than irritating. NOTE: at least the pastas were all in the Primi and proteins in secondi. Americanized dishes: One example of this is the Carbonara with blue crab. 1) made with bacon instead of guanciale 2) made with cream (authentic is just egg and cheese and quite excellent) 3) You will not find seafood with cheese often in Italy, as the seafood is viewed as being too delicate to stand up well to cheese. Notes: 1) Our dear friend had this dish, and he said it was good. 2) I can be picky on Italian food and typically shy away from ordering a dish if I feel it is more likely to disappoint me. 3) The same rule applies to New Orleans food (my hometown) What I ordered Crudo I think this was likely the highlight of the meal. Highly recommend. Garlic Focaccia bread. The first one was undercooked by 5 minutes and a bit claggy. I mentioned it to our server, and he brought out another one. The second one was FAR better but, in my opinion, still a bit dense for Focaccia. Caesar salad. This is an interesting one, and I often express how a salad invented in Mexico is somehow in every Italian restaurant in America. Their version of the Caesar was bland at best. The classic Caesar is easy to make fresh, but this seemed more fitting for the fast-service restaurant category. I had Short Rib Bolognese, and it was decent but not mind-blowing. It had good flavor, and the pasta (bucatini) was cooked well. We shared a mascarpone cheesecake for dessert, and I felt the flavor profile was off and overly sweet.
As much as I wanted to like this place, I just didn't.
The spicy rigatoni had no flavor what so ever. The drinks were by far the best thing we had. I just wasn't impressed. I'm hoping it was just a bad night.
Well designed space with unbelievable sweet potatoes.
The sweet potatoes have a crispy crunchy exterior with a sweet and balanced center topped with an aioli. Pair this with the Kavanaugh chopped salad and you'll have the perfect dinner or lunch. Don't miss the speak easy in the back. The staff was knowledgeable and the recommendations were spot on.
I don't think I could speak highly enough about George's.
We came here dinner and were seated by the very handsome front of house manager at the bar in the speakeasy, Barnaby. The vibe and ambiance in Barnaby was absolutely awesome. Everything from the decor and seating, to the lighting and music was so cool and gives this place such a great atmosphere. The food was even better than I expected, which was a lot. We started with the meatballs and focaccia, followed by the chicken Parmesan and the bucatini. Everything we had was so good and then we had the mascarpone cheesecake. This may have been the best cheesecake I've ever had. Last but not least Lauren, the bartended , was so great and so knowledgeable. She definitely add a lot to our unbelievable experience at George's. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Great addition to the neighborhood
Love the transformation from Cafe Prego to George’s. It’s been highly anticipated for some time. We managed to get reservations for a Valentines dinner. The food and service were top notch. My wife had the pasta and red sauce. I had the lasagna. Started with some focaccia bread which was topped with cheese and served with garlic butter. Very tasty. The lasagna was solid. I really enjoyed it. Huge serving size. The “speak easy” is very cool and no reservations needed. Outdoor seating same way. Next time it’ll be outside or speakeasy. Only negative is inside tables are just a tad too close to each other.. other than that it is excellent!
Can't say enough good things about this restaurant and what
Can't say enough good things about this restaurant and what it brings to Little Rock's food scene, but I will plead my case once again about the rigatoni: it needs to be rolled out thinner. I fear there is no way to cook a pasta that thick all the way through. It is described as al dente, but that's not what it is: There was actual uncooked white flower inside the walls of the pasta. This dish is so close to perfection (the sauce is incredible) that I feel the need to fight for it.
Don't normally leave reviews but the hype around this place
Don't normally leave reviews but the hype around this place was wild. Got to experience it myself and was extremely disappointed. It's high priced mediocre Italian food at best. Might be a step above Olive Garden but the pricing doesn't make it feel that way. Got the bolognese and it wasn't good at all.

From the moment you walk in you are taken in by the beautiful atmosphere. We sat in the sun porch area at the front of the building, so pretty. We had great cocktails, wonderful friendly service and yummy food. Highlights were both thw sweet potato and brussel sprout appetizers, the spaghetti and the cheesecake. Great spot.
The owners need to wake up and smell the coffee.
A few things on the menu are ok. One friend was unable to-eat the lasagna. It was hard, dry with a huge portion slapped on a saucer size plate. Not sophisticated at all. Why does it take so long to get a reservation? Likely because there are only 8 to 10 tables in the entire restaurant. Never again
Love the lounge vibes! I would happy with the Mascarpone
Love the lounge vibes! I would happy with the Mascarpone cheesecake for the rest of time. It's absolutely amazing. The staff is really friendly and happy. All of our food was delicious.
As much as I had high hopes, I was not impressed.
The focaccia bread had so much dry cheese on it that we almost choked....super dry. The burrata was ok...wayyy too much arugula. Drinks were ok. Don't believe the hype....
Would Not recommend
Poor service despite 1 month prayer reservation Ambiance nice but food poor quality and overpriced Pork Chop more fat then meat Service poor multiple mistakes - certainly doesn’t deserve follow up visit
- Tuna carpaccio- really good.
If you don't like raw fish/ truffles not the dish for you but we loved it. -short rib bolognese- best dish of the night must order -Chicken parm- good but nothing special - Focaccia - really good/ must order -Cacio e Pepe- good but I wish I would have ordered the vodka sauce rigatoni. Services was great and the food was very solid. Also the speak easy in the back is great for a night cap after dinner. Good addition to LR food scene.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
