Gazab New York Reviews from The Last Year

I came here just to try the whole tandoori pomfret, and I was not disappointed! So good. Their appetizers I tried with my party were delicious as well. Definitely a trendy restaurant, with great Indian food, but a smaller menu choice than the typical Indian restaurant.
My favorite restaurant that I went to on my trip to NYC.
The curries were amazing. Unique and simply delicious!
My friends and I met up here for dinner after I had seen
My friends and I met up here for dinner after I had seen numerous Tiktoks about the lemon chicken and the biryani. Modern Indian food? I'm pretty much always down for that. We started out with the gobi Manchurian, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night. The cauliflower were perfectly fried and stayed super crispy even after sitting on the plate for most of the night. The sauce was nicely balanced as well. I couldn't stop eating this one. We also got the kori sukka, which was a tasty spiced fried chicken dish. It was a bit too salty for me and the chicken a little dry, but we still enjoyed it overall. The main courses were what ended up being a letdown. The famous Kasauli lemon chicken had a nice lemon flavor (though I think I prefer a less sour curry), but the chicken was so dry and overcooked. The lamb in the parsi lamb salli boti suffered from the same issue, and the gravy was pretty mediocre. I've had much better. Finally, the Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani came with a dramatic presentation (a lid that the waiter cuts off at the table for you), but had a flavor that I found totally off-putting. I'm not sure what spice or herb was inside, but I couldn't eat more than a bite of it. It's always a bad sign when no one in your party really wants to bring home any of the leftovers, and this is what happened here. Prices are higher here than what you would expect from your neighborhood Indian joint. However, the restaurant itself is lacking in the vibes and ambience that you would expect from a restaurant at that price point. Despite putting some trendy decorations inside, the tables and chairs are uncomfortable and feel cheap. For the price, the quality of the food isn't up to par either. It's going to be a pass for me.
As for service and vibe, I would give it an average review
As for service and vibe, I would give it an average review however the food was tasty and portion size was appropriate. Overall, would not go back but not a bad option for a quick bite.
Not your typical traditional Indian restaurant.
The food here is very unique and creative. We started with the Bokchoy Chaat. I'm a big fan of Samosa Chaat and not a fan of adding more vegetables to an item I already like, but I thought the chaat was really good. Somehow, the bokchoy, the pomegranate and the chutney mixed together created an amazing flavor profile. We also had the Chipotle Chicken Tikka. I thought it was good, but not a must-have dish. We shared the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani. At first, we thought the portion wouldn't be big enough to share, but it was perfect for two. And it tasted excellent. It was a little on the spicy side, but I couldn't stop eating it. For dessert, we ordered both desserts that the restaurant carries; the Gulab Jamun Creme Brulee and the Lychee Firni. Both were amazing!! I would come back to the restaurant just to have dessert again! I never thought that a gulab jamun stuck inside creme brulee would go together, but it totally works! And who would think to put lychee pieces in firni? I loved both and you can't go wrong with either.
Have been wanting to try this place for a while.
A bit tiny so def make a reservation to ensure you get a spot. pani puri -very yummy wish the portion was a little bigger bokchoy chaat - 5/5 the best dish for me saag paneer and chicken tikka masala - both of these dishes were very good but between 4 people i thought 2 entrees would be enough to share. however the portions were pretty tiny meaning we were still a little hungry after our meal. garlic naan - with four people they recommended 2 orders and they explained one order was 4 "tiny" pieces. when the 2 orders arrived it was an excessive amount so think the one would have been plenty mango lassi - a highlight to the meal probably wouldn't be back based off the price to food ratio to be honest but the flavor and quality of the dishes was definitely there
A cute, small cozy spot with cute painting and wall decor.
I was surprised to see the size of the restaurant as I pictured it to be bigger. Nevertheless, waiter was very attentive given he was the only waiter there but still managed to take timely orders and refill our water. Food was good and had unique twists to it; my favorite for sure was the Szechuan chicken wings. The place had chill vibes with Indian music playing in the background. I will definitely return to try other items from the menu. One of the best Indian spot I've been to in a while!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
