A good Thai experience
During our visit to Andover, and after a few years since our visit to Thailand, it was time to please our craving for Thai food. We had been recommended Gati Thai Bistro as a good option in town, so we headed there. This is a small restaurant located in the center of the town on Main St. We ordered a Thai coconut and one Tom Yum soup. Although we expected the Tom Yum to be Thai spicy level, it was not, but it was still nice. We also ordered a red curry, crispy pork belly gra-pow and for dessert a mango sticky rice. We recommend anyone to eat here, as it is a great choice for the area.

I ordered pickup. Drove all the way to the restaurant for the food in the attached photos. Also got pineapple fried rice that was mostly flavorless. In-person dining was okay the one time I ate there, but I won't be going there again.

Asked for nampla prik for takeout food. Person told me they ran out of fresh chili! REALLY. At a Thai restaurant? False. She just didnโt want to serve a farang!

Ordered the Thai Lettuce Wrap, Pad See Ew with Chicken and Snap Peas with Shitake Mushrooms with Shrimp. All dishes were good.

This was one of the best Thai meals I have had in a long while. The mango curry, spicey, was outstanding. The vegetables were fresh. There was plenty of chicken. It wasn't overly hot, but far from mild too.

I like it spicy hot and the pad kee mow met my needs. We started with the chicken wings and they were not the skimpy bar type and priced reasonably. We also had the chili salmon dinner with the pad kee mow and had some to take home. If you arenโt used to spicy hot donโt get it. There are not a lot of tables so it is not too loud which we also enjoyed. If they had mango sticky rice for desert I would have tried it but they didnโt so we called it a night.

So I was surprised when I found out our go to thai place one thong chai had changed, but figured we'd give it a shot because it was in same exact location. Wound up being a huge disappointment. The mango fried rice was bland in comparison to what it use to be before the change. Crab Rangoon was gross. Thai rolls blah. We use to constantly order from one thong chai and always loved it. Wont be ordering from gati Thai bistro again.

We visited the previous restaurant that was located here twice and it just came across as lacking pretty badly. We tried the new Gati tonight and the food was definitely improved. We ordered crab rangoons, Khao soi, broccoli and mushroom stir fry, and pineapple fried rice. The rangoons (4 in the order) were probably the weakest part of the order, for the price getting 4 seems pretty steep and they were just okay. The Khao soi was ordered with the beef and the flavors were fantastic. The only gripe was the beef was pretty overcooked/tough but that could have been the fault of it being a takeout order and it steaming its way to an overcooked state. I'd still definitely get it again. Broccoli and mushroom stir fry with tofu was delicious, sauce was perfect. Pineapple fried rice was overall very good but was probably the weakest entree out of the 3 we tried.
