Great Barcelona cuisine. Not to be missed
Always great. Nuria professionalism makes a difference. Her flexibility, agility, knowledge of the business, wine knowledge and eagerness to make the visit a memorable experience is unforgettable.

Service was atrocious they said on entering you need to surrender table after 2 hours . We only just made it as they were pitifully slow Our waiter was bluntly clueless. He allowed us to order not one but two wines which were out of stock Starters were served 15 minutes apart! Food was just ok The foie gras was the most tasteless ever even with anchovies The gambas unremarkable The pulpo somewhat rubbery the porcini pigeon rice the rice was undercooked The wine list...know what's in and out of stock and don't allow customers to order unavailable wines The baba dessert was ok Expensive overrated under par
Be the first to ReplyA memorable "something-magical" Saturday date night comes along...
Introducing Gaig, the third restarant of the Michelin-star winner and National Award for the Best Chef of 1999 from the Real Academia de Gastronomia, Carles Gaig, The first two are in Barcelona and we are the lucky ones in Singapore to have the third one from this multi-award winning team, helmed by Carles's daughter, Nuria.
Yes, yes...do yourself a favour blah blah blah but do it.
The food was absolutely amazing.
A beautiful and understated restaurant decor, tables wide apart and not crushed close to the next diners.
Wonderful and knowledgable service staff.
Menu changes monthly with the favourite items retained. Good wine list but some are a bit $$$
I can see this becoming one of my favourites,
Delish tapas
Spanish tapas and mains (even the mains felt tapas-sized), which works well for me as it allows for variety without stuffing ourselves silly.
- Crispy bread with tomato and olive bread
- Atlantic Cod Fritters
- Jamon and Mushroom Croquettes
- Short noodles paella style with Carabinero Prawns
- Spring Chicken stuffed with pork belly and nuts
- Suckling pig tapas
- Charcoal Grilled Octopus
- Christmas Log Cake
- Strawberry & Raspberry Paper Millefeuille
- xocolata (a dessert made of chocolate, ganache, oil and bread)
Loved every dish here, from plating to taste. My least fav was probably the Atlantic Cod fritters, a tad too oily and tasted like a mushy mess (maybe that's how real cod would taste, but not worth the calories nor money imo). The octopus was done to perfection (that's a main size btw).
My absolute fav has gotta be the Chicken stuffed with Pork Belly and Nuts, crispy skin, tender meat and so flavourful. It's a Christmas special though, should be on the main menu! Oh and that suckling pig one, crackling skin with well grilled meat that melts in the mouth, we had just a mouth each, I regretted not repeating the order.
The best beef Wellington anywhere
This was my first visit and was unforgettable. The restaurant is wonderfully comfortable and love the ambiance. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive that makes it a joy to eat here, above all I eat out to be happy and the staff make that happen. The menu has a wonderful selection and enjoyed everything from beginning to end. By far this restaurant had the best beef Wellington I have ever had. Finished with a wonderful banana bread desert that was the perfect ending.
An absolute joy to eat at and I will definitely return
Absolutely perfect dining experience!
A completely pleasant surprise! Found this restaurant on the Internet and after reading their history, decided to try it out. Both of us had the Chefโs Menu which started with hors dโลuvres: Jamon ham on crispy bread; foie gras cream & smoked eel macaron; blini with cauliflower cream topped with caviar. Followed by tomato, cheese & bread soup and then the house speciality cannelloni stuffed with minced beef & pork in truffle sauce. The best parts of the menu are the creamy rice with prawn carpaccio and the duck fillet with kumquat! Finished off with whiskey tart and petit fours. Total cost for 2 persons including aperitif and 1 bottle of wine:S$597.

Birthday dinner here. Good service and no e ambience. Food overall was excellent although desserts could have been better. The paella, the croquets and especially the beef cooked over charcoal at the table were fabulous.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a birthday lunch
Came here for a birthday lunch and Gaig did not disappoint. The seafood paella was the highlight, and so are the various croquettes and tapas. The suckling pig is very special too. The chocolate dessert hit the spot! The sangria is probably one of the best I ever had. Authentic Catalonia cuisine! Well done guys!
Be the first to ReplyTasty and interesting blends
Tasty and interesting blends of flavours, but portion sizes were tad small... was soon slightly peckish after sharing a few courses with three other friends. Tried the CROQUETES, CANELONS TRADICIONALS, FIDEUร NEGRE, POP A LA BRASA and GALTA ROSTIDA. The flavours were rich yet not overwhelming to the taste buds. Love the creme brรปlรฉe- a very interesting deconstructed form, very delicious. Wait staff were attentive and friendly.

Great little spot. Food is absolutely delicious a good selection of wine and great service. A little taste of Spain in Singapore. Can thoroughly recommend Gaig.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced, left us hungry
Food is good enough (not amazing) but portions are incredibly small and it is way overpriced.
Footnote: They accept children but donโt have any child seats.
Worst Spanish Food and Service
I've read so much about this place and since I live nearby I thought I'll check it out tonight.
First I believe they discriminate Asians and Locals..Even when they have indoor tables they ask you to sit outside.
Second they charge for food that is pretentious and not what its really is.and when you dont eat and return.
After a while I figured out this is the same restaurant in Dempsey with another name and now showed up in Stanley Street. I was there Ventana some years back for a birthday event
and swore never to return due to
arrogant service and pretentious food.
Never again. How can they change the name and carry on with thier game?????
I ordered Jamon Croquttes for starter, although it was over fried, not golden brown, it was ok. My main course was Suckling Pig and was anticipating what I have tasted many times in Madrid and Barcelona, even here in now defunct Catalunya, where they cut the suckling pig with a plate.
Instead, same as I remember in Ventana, they served 3 squares of pulled pork?
I asked the Spanish Manager if thier crema catalana is the traditional custard caramel, he said yes. When it arrived it was in a coupe glass with lemonchello and something strange. I returned it but they still charged.
Had I known that this is the same Ventana I would have never gone back.
Never never again.
