We went to see Danzig at The Complex. I don't go to concerts much anymore, but this was one I couldn't miss so we decided to go. There are several separate large rooms in the venue so that different events can be held. The main room that you enter has a snack bar and the restrooms. The snack bar was nice because you could get a soda, popcorn, pizza, etc. I was driving so I couldn't drink, so I was appreciative of being able to easily order a soda. I didn't use the restrooms, but my wife said they were fine. The merchandise booth was set up in a separate room, which was nice because it was lit up and away from the music so you could have a conversation with the attendant without yelling. The room with the stage had two large screens on either side of the stage, but they were just for advertising upcoming shows. The opening bands were really loud and I had to use earplugs, but you could easily retreat to another room if you needed to. Danzig sounded great without needing earplugs. There's really nowhere to sit at all and that is the main downside to this place. We were able to see the band just fine from pretty much anywhere in the room. The security staff seemed polite and professional. We received a quick wand search at the door, nothing too excessive. I did find parking difficult. There are a bunch of tempting parking spots along the street where the venue is, next to seemingly vacant buildings, but there are sparsely posted no parking signs that you have to watch out for. I saw a bunch of vehicles with parking tickets. We drove around a few blocks and finally decided to just pay $10 at a pay lot about a block away because we were missing the show and wanted to get in. If you go, you may want to leave some extra time to find parking. The Gateway parking lots would probably be a good option, but it's unlikely you're gonna park for free so be prepared for that. All in all a good place for a show; if there's ever another show there that I can't live without I'm sure I won't hesitate to go back.
