Came here once before and loved it even more the second
Came here once before and loved it even more the second time. If you haven't been, SIT INSIDE if you can. It's worth it to get a reservation (which you will need regardless) inside where you can see all the action. The first time I went we sat outside and felt like the outdoor dining took away from the overall experience. The food is phenomenal, and inside you can see it being made. The bar seats surround the kitchen so it really feels like dinner and a show. I got the tagliolini with garlic, leeks, and anchovy and it was just perfect (and a huge portion). We also ordered two orders of the focaccia (we were a group of three and wanted everyone to have at least two slices) and wrapped up the night with their creamsicle (with matcha + pistachio + honey) ice cream. The menu is bound to change with the seasons but their cacio e pepe is great too. Would love to come back to try their appetizers!

Managed to snag a late night indoor reservation on a Monday and it did not disappoint!! The pasta at fiorella is truly some of the best, the first time I went I got the rigatoni with sausage ragu and it was fantastic, and on my second visit I ordered the Cacio e Pepe, which I thought was the best version I've had. My friends really enjoyed their anchovy and leek tagliolini as well. Having dined both inside and outside, the indoor dining experience was really special. The interior is super small and intimate and we were sat at the bar where we could watch the chefs at work which was very fun. Highly recommend trying to get an indoor res. For dessert we tried the orange creamsicle ice cream which also had pistachio and matcha in it, it was AMAZING. Blew us out of the water, the portion was pretty generous too. Also make sure to order the focaccia, it's delicious and perfect for soaking up pasta sauce.

Absolutely the best pasta this side of Italy! The cacio e pepe was amazing and I can't wait to return and order it again. We also had the gnocchi (delicious ) and the rigatoni, which my husband is still talking about. We ate outside on a cold February night but the two heat lamps kept us toasty. Excellent wines paired beautifully with our meals.

I truly love the small menu and incredible attention to detail at Fiorella provides. We have been here a couple times and the pasta is great every time. I just wish they had a couple more vegetarian options to choose from, or at least were able to make a few substitutions to make some things vegetarian. This time I tried the gnocchi with beets which was truly amazing and delicious! My friend had the cacio e Pepe which was less good than usual. We also ordered the focaccia which was kind of a disappointment. It was cold, dry and chewy, not really like a focaccia. I also had the orange wine which was probably one of the best glasses of orange wine I've ever had, so all in all we had a wonderful experience and will be back.

Overrated and overpriced considering the cult following Fiorella has. The scallop crudo was super weird. The vegetable appetizer was just cold uncooked veggies. The cacio Pepe was no better than the Trader Joe's cacio pepe I get for lunch. The rigatoni sausage was very nice.

Came here on Valentines Day and since we had a reservation beforehand we did not have to wait to be seated. We had the best seat in the house, right in front of the kitchen. We were able to watch all the food get prepped and cooked! We ordered focaccia, escaragot, Rigatoni, and cacio e pepe. Everything was very good! I wish their menu had a larger selection but can't complain, everything was still delicious. I loved the Rigatoni and sausage. They cooked their pasta perfectly! The serving sizes were very big! A little pricey but I think this place is worth trying.
Be the first to ReplyCute environment, mid pasta.
I was not really impressed with the pasta and thought it was quite $$$$ for what it was. I would probably try this place a la carte vs set menu (what I did) and see if that might be better. Small interior, dim vibes, intimate setting. If you have a large party, you sit upstairs next to the kitchen which is cool to experience. Good for ambiance, meh for pasta (set menu specifically).
Be the first to ReplyFood is great.
Service was terrible: server didn't check in to see if I wanted more to drink, food took an extraordinary time to come out, when we asked to order another dish, the server looked visibly annoyed and didn't ask if we wanted coffee or dessert after, on our bill there were two extra charges, when we pointed this out, the waitress barely managed an apology. Lastly they booked us outdoor seating, and though there was some heating, it was absolutely freezing.

New Italian cuisine with a lovely staff and amazing creative pasta dishes. My only complaint is that you have to book way in advance.
Be the first to ReplyWhy does this place make me have the feels about pasta
Why does this place make me have the feels about pasta every time I come?! We were seated at the bar and saw Mr. Marc Vetri himself pacing around his restaurant. We started with the Ricotta Gnocchi which wasn't my favorite thing on the menu. I did; however, appreciate the charred taste of the beets in the dish. We asked the waitress what was good on the menu. She recommended the Francobolli. This dish was incredible. It slightly tasted of celery and was very creamy. The Rigatoni was good and tasted of the classic meaty red ragu sausage sauce I love. The dessert was a lovely Sticky Toffee Cake. I highly recommend this dessert!

I was so excited to try this restaurant and man, it did not disappoint. I have four kiddos at home and rarely get to go out anymore and this was literally perfection. We had the prosciutto and pear appetizer which was so delicious and unique. We also tried three different pastas, they were all so good but our favorite was the ricotta gnocchi and the rigatoni and sausage ragu. There was SO much flavor and the pasta was literal perfection. It was really cool to learn the sausage is the same recipe back from the 1800's. The service was also awesome, everyone was friendly and accommodating. We didn't have reservations and this was a last minute stop on our way home but they got us right in and it was fun sitting outside (they have heaters). All in all it was magical and I really want to go back!!

Best pasta in Philly! With the charm that the restaurant brings and delicious food, this was my favorite date night spot. Simple yet unique taste, they knock it out of the park with every dish. Service was fantastic and cook was went out of his way to say hello. 10/10.

The restaurant is small but there is plenty of heated outdoor seating. We were able to score a seat inside at the bar, which allowed us to watch the chefs do their thing! We can honestly say it was the some of the best pastas we've had! Likely because it's hand made daily. If you love Italian food this is a gem that you MUST add to your list!

Went to Fiorella to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't be more happy with our experience. We were fortunate enough to grab a last minute indoor seating and immediately loved the atmosphere. We sat right next to the kitchen and had a full view of the preparation of all the dishes. Our server, Jess, deserves a huge shout out. She answered all of our questions and made great recommendations based on what we were looking for that night. Thank you Jess! And of course, the food itself was delicious. Our favorites were the gnocchi and cappellacci. Definitely looking forward to coming back in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyFiorella is a must try restaurant, my friends were hyping
Fiorella is a must try restaurant, my friends were hyping it up and me tell you, I was not disappointed! We had outdoor seating in the rain but the space heaters kept us nice and warm. Our server was exceptionally helpful and friendly. One thing to note, the portions are small so you have to order a few dishes. We started with the focaccia and ordered the ricotta gnocchi, cappellacci, cacio e Pepe. The gnocchi was delicious, the best I have ever had! Next best dish was the cacio e Pepe, which was very flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate ice cream and it was great
Be the first to ReplyDelicious meal with friends.
Ordered the chicory salad to start, next came the caramelle with beets and mostarda, then the cappellacci with robiolina and artichoke, then the cacio e pepe, we were still a little hungry so we also ordered the ricotta gnocchi with leeks but sadly they were out of leeks so we only got gnocchi. We all also ordered the brown butter old fashioned and for dessert the dark chocolate ice cream w/gianduja and the lemon sorbetto w/rosemary meringue. The pastas were all very good, and the sauces were flavorful, I really enjoyed the cappellacci and artichoke and the caramelle with beets. I do feel like the portions were a little on the tiny side, I know we're not dining at Olive Garden but I would think a salad and three pastas would do the trick between three people and we still ordered another pasta oh and two orders of the focaccia which was also very good. The desserts were good but not out of this world. I was very disappointed the olive oil cake was sold out, one of my favorite desserts. Service was good and outdoor seating was comfortable, would definitely come back and try more dishes.
Be the first to ReplyMy boyfriend chose this as a date night place.
We ordered two pastas and one was inedible because it was so overly salty. The other one was okay but we can make better at home being a block from the Italian market. Plenty of better places nearby.

We had an incredible evening here not so long ago and would repeat it over and over forever. Since we are vegetarian we ate mostly a few veggie dishes and the pastas and loved it all (it's a rotating menu so not going into too much detail). The tonnarelli and gnocchi were incredible (albeit a bit heavy). The desserts (especially the gelato) were amazing as well. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyI will send everyone I know that goes to Philadelphia here.
I made this reservation for the weekend of Valentines Day and I am so glad we did. If I could give this place a 10 star I would. The service from the start was great. We got seated at the seating overlooking the kitchen area. And let me tell you from someone who loves to cook this was my dream seat for dinner. It's an old Sausage factory and they kept a lot of that charm in the restaurant as well. They had the old register which was so neat to see. Food, let's talk about the food. To begin the food was absolutely amazing, out of this world delicious. We started the night off with the Treviso with Polenta, Gorgonzola and Hazelnut. Then for our mains we picked three as requested by our waitress for us to share. And she was spot on and we had plenty with these. The three we got were the Rigatoni with Fiorella Sausage Ragu, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe and Ricotta Gnocchi with Leeks. The ragu was like no other we have ever had. The flavor or the Cacio E Pepe was delicious and the pasta was cooked so well. And i have had my share of gnocchi and they are heavy and can only eat like three and your done. Not with these, they were what I said that night a cloud of the most delicious flavor and texture was just right. We sat right next to the chef and watched all our orders get prepped. Sitting there was great and being able to chat with them and thank them was so much fun. We also got to try a sample of the Anolini with Fig and Foie Gras. Then came dessert which won us over as well. We had the Lemon Sorbet with Rosemary Meringue. And then was treated to a taste of the Dark Chocolate Ice Cream with Gianduja. We will be back for sure! Thank you for such a memorable evening and most delicious dinner!
Be the first to ReplyThis is my second time reviewing a cult classic on
This is my second time reviewing a cult classic on Christian St. This time, we got to sample the new upstairs dining area, where you get to experience a more communion dining experience with others who opted to try it out at the same time. The meals are pre-planned, with four pastas, a few appetizers and come with dessert. We were lucky and brought a large group and managed to reserve a table just for us (only two available), and we had a lovely time. It felt like private dining experience at a homey Michelin vibe. Loved all of the classic dishes and if you could try out Fiorella, give the upstairs option a try!
Be the first to ReplyI saw Fiorella's festured on Somebody Feed Phil and knew I
I saw Fiorella's festured on Somebody Feed Phil and knew I had to go. My daughter is a freshman at Temple and we visit her once a month. Each time we visit we try a new restaurant. I was able to get a Sunday reservation at 4:00 three weeks ahead and then decided that was the day we would visit our daughter. The food didn't disappoint. As I was eating both the chickory salad and the rigatoni I was saying "oh my god". It was like a god created the rigatoni. The sauce was a well cooked red sauce with sausage that somehow felt light. My daughter and husband loved the lasagne filled with goose. The fig filled pasta was good but not as memorable as their signature rigatoni with sausage. My banana stand cocktail was delicious and the focaccia was served with a drizzle of olive oil and sea salt, also a must order. I'm trying to search for my next reservation now. Side note- the restaurant is teeny tiny so most of the seats are outdoors in their heated patio which is covered.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food!! Amazing main dishes, the appetizer options
Great food!! Amazing main dishes, the appetizer options this time were not the best but all tasted phenomenal. The service was great a little cold for outdoor seating. The dessert was great we had picked the espresso ice cream. Great creamy texture!
Be the first to ReplyIs it worth clambering for a coveted reservation here?
Is it worth clambering for a coveted reservation here? Absolutely! Food and service are at a high level without the usual pretentiousness. This feels more like an old school Italian restaurant experience. The classic rigatoni and sausage was perfect in every way. The anolini with fig and Foie made me happy that we also ordered focaccia to mop up every bit of sauce on the plate. The pasta water martini is a great intro to those where a full blown martini may be a little overwhelming. Consider this is a martini with training wheels. As a martini lover, I found that this still captures the essence of a great martini without going directly to your head. Very intimate setting made this a perfect evening.
Be the first to ReplyFiorella is definitely worth the hype.
Best pasta I have ever had so far (and I've tried a few hyped places in NYC).We ordered the Cacio e Pepe and the Sausage Rigatoni. Both pastas were served fresh and were perfectly Al dente. The cacio e Pepe was neither too salty nor rich. The rigatoni had a perfect simple sauce with just the right amount of spice. Not to mention the portions were large. Highly recommend sharing Al Dente RigatoniCacio E Pepetwo pasta dishes between two people. The focaccia was a bit cold but tasted delicious nonetheless. We ended our meal with the espresso ice cream with cookie dough. You do not want to pass on this. It was incredibly creamy and rich and the perfect way to end the night. The restaurant itself is an incredible historic charm - would recommend sitting inside if possible. The space is tight but that adds to the intimate experience. The service was perfect, as the food came out quickly and we were attended just the right amount, no interruptions!I would definitely bring my parents here for a nice dinner!
