Spoiled evening
The food was good as well as the wine recommendation. Unfortunately at the very end The Boss attempted to overcharge our party. Total disappointment!
Be the first to ReplyRobotic Staff
Some earlier reviews complained about the staff. The food was excellent the service was efficient but don't expect the staff to be the least bit interested in making this a memorable experience. They are like trained ROBOTS doing their job. Actually "real robots" would have made it more entertaining.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, interesting wines, great service
We are a family of chefs, sommeliers, winemakers and general foodies. We each had three dishes: tapas, primo and secundo to use the Italian terms. Of the 12 dishes, there were no weak ones and most were exceptional. The wines were well chosen and extremely flavorful, We were also very pleasantly surprised when the bill was way under €100 a person. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyIrregular
Unfortunately in my experience the quality is very irregular. In ours last visits my friends and I have had lunch and dinner with the Carta option. And in some of them the xantgurro croquettes were tasteless, being excellent in others. The squids and the meat dishes where always acceptable but not the fish of the main course. In one ocassion was outstanding in other just average and in our last visit the “Sargo” has been a total disappoinment: almost raw at the center and probably a frozen piece. It was impossible to complaint because no waiter in sight for too long. And no questions asked in spite than more than half of the portions (two) were left. This last point is just a hint about the scarce service some of them with below average skills. We found spectacular differences in waiters professionalism. Some of them, unfortunately, seemed not ready for that job. Or perhaps they, she actually, had just joined the team. Just an exemple: to present a cecina (dry veal meat) order as ibérico which is always pork: “And here your ibérico order”. The maitre, the Frenchman who runs the restaurant, deserves a special mention. He is all smiles...until some objection (about the wines or the cooking) arise. Then his tolerance for disent is zero. For sure, he has been for long time in charge of this, or others, restaurants. But that’s why he should know, and accept, that every customer is different. And that there is no bible for tastes. Having the restaurant full day in day out, he doesn’t give a damn!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent tasting menu in a lovely restaurant.
Whilst the a la carte menu had some interesting variants we chose the tasting menu with accompanying wine pairing.
Many tasting menus don’t work for me - often too fussy and not enough to eat!! Here was very different. Each course was perfect in presentation and taste. Paired with excellent local wines.
Our waiters explained each dish and discussed the choice of wine.
White tablecloths and napkins add to the occasion. Delighted to visit and hope to return.
Mr
As we were over from the UK we treated our host to the tasting menu with wine pairing, 4 of us.
The food is good (not excellent) and well-executed but they have a lot to learn when it comes to service and lack the finesse of a decent restaurant
Not serving ladies first, pouring the wine without finesse, without showing the label.
Almost slamming plates on the table, the list is long.
The dessert on the tasting menu was made of pumpkin purée and chocolate (and other ingredients), sadly the chocolate was missing which made the whole dessert taste like a starter as the chocolate was the key ingredient.
We told the waiter who after a few explanation, angrily decided to bring the plastic piping bag to our table and angrily pipe chocolate on our plate rather than apologise, take our plates to the kitchen and add the chocolate there.
A very poor and unprofessional reaction for what we thought was a decent restaurant!
Entrevins doesn't have a Michelin star and based on this poor service and attitude it looks like they are still far away from getting one.
