Elan Spa at The Greenway Cheltenham Reviews from The Last Year
Girls spa weekend
My best friend and I ended up here for a spa weekend after our original booking at another hotel was cancelled and we were really pleased it had! The hotel is beautiful, our room was lovely, the spa facilities were great. So nice to have the outdoor hot tub and the jets in the main pool. We had a full body massage included in our package which for me was one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately my friends wasn't so 'full body' and seemed to skip hands and feet and the gorgeous smelling products which was strange. We had cocktails which were lovely and usual hotel prices, a three course dinner which was excellent quality and breakfast the following morning - couldn't fault any of it. Would definitely recommend.
Relaxing luxury
We had a really lovely room . The food was good - tasty but drinks were very pricey . Service was good and most of the staff . The grounds are attractive and extensive for walking - you can also join local footpaths easily . The Spa was very relaxing - lovely pool .
Great venue let down by "stealth" charges in the bar
Beautiful location for a wedding, Superb Wedding Breakfast and very spacious and comfortable accomodation. Only let downs were the quality and service at breakfast was poor. The bar charged a service charge for drinks ordered at the bar counter when the service just involved the bar server pouring the drinks as there was no table service involved.
Just WOW
From start to finish this hotel was an absolute delight . My husband and i wanted a special night away for our 2nd wedding anniversary and to visit the Cotswolds. We treated ourselves to the 4 poster suite and on entering our room the team had left us a hand written card and plate of truffles wishing us a happy anniversary, such a thoughtful thing to do.The room was huge and the bed sooo comfy . We had dinner in the restaurant and being such a food lover i am always apprehensive eating at new places. Just wow , the food was unreal and i was in food heaven and can honestly hand on heart say it was the nicest 3 course meal i have ever had out and we have eaten out alot! Cocktails delicious and an incredible drinks menu choice. The spa was a lovely end to our one night stay i just wish we could have stayed longer. I work at a very high end hotel in Hampshire and cannot wait to tell them about this find. Thank you to all the lovely staff for everything. We will be back
Disappointed
The Greenway has always been a favourite destination for those special events. Attended for a birthday afternoon tea, was served a veggie range of sandwiches (GF & DF, not veggie/vegan). Meat, fish & egg ones were provided. Cakes / treats switched for fruit (really, I can get fruit any day of the week) and some jellies. Nothing ‘special’. Chair was also broken. Just not up to expectations.
Don't buy spa vouchers
Do not buy spa vouchers it's a con. They make a fortune off people who cannot attend within the set timescale. We all bought birthday vouchers for each other. For one reason or another over the past 18 months we have not been able to attend together and now they will just take the £200 and give us nothing at all. It's such a lot of money to see wasted, I don't understand how we can be given nothing in return for that amount spend. So don't buy vouchers and give them the satisfaction of getting to keep that money for doing sweet FA.
Perfect afternoon tea
Visited for afternoon tea. Wonderful approach along well maintained driveway. The Hotel is set in lovely grounds with far reaching views. Sadly it was raining otherwise we would have explored... Attentive staff delivered a top quality tea, well presented and delicious. We couldn't manage the scones so went home with a doggy bag. Well done all involved - top marks.
Huge bedrooms
We enjoyed a superb family weekend break at The Greenway. Our rooms were all extremely spacious and beautifully presented. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The Staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Highly recommended.
An exceptional wedding stay
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. My husband & I held our wedding ceremony and reception here in April 2024. We were blessed with one of the few sunny days in April and the hotel really shone in the sunshine. Every single staff member who we and our guests encountered during our 3 day stay could not do enough for us; I have never been to another hotel where every single staff member was giving 100%, everyone (and I mean everyone from events team to reception to housekeeping to the wait staff and even the gardener) was really helpful and friendly. The wedding day was absolutely perfect, the hotel exceeded my expectations and the team, led exceptionally by Louise who I had 100% confidence in throughout, delivered to make it the wonderful day for us and our families. I honestly could not have asked for more. The food was incredible. The hotel went above and beyond for us and treated us and our guests like royalty from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. It was the little touches at The Greenway that made this wedding so special for us - the personalised card, private dining the evening before the wedding, the stripes in the lawn specially for our confetti shot, even the chimney sweep as good luck for us! I cannot ever thank the hotel (and especially Louise who really went above and beyond to make this a perfect wedding for us) enough. We can’t wait to come back in the future. This place is very special - a hidden gem!
A gem
The service in this beautiful historic and beautifully located hotel could not have been better. Professional as well as friendly and accommodating, they made our stay a lovely experience. Our room was spotlessly clean and white despite being blessed with old beams, the views lovely despite rainy weather. The quibbles - not very good reproduction furniture - swept away by a very nice overall ambience and impeccable service.
Pride of Cheltenham NOT
I was bought a spa package for my 60th birthday, it was a top price package with truffle and champagne facial. On arrival the spa was extremely busy and we soon learnt it was a race meeting weekend. Toilets were disgusting, laundry bin in changing room was over filling. No available beds around the pool area due to wet towels and dressing gowns. I asked someone if I could use a bed as it had been unoccupied for 20 minutes but was sharply told it was needed. The treatment however was lovely but the room was not. The jacuzzi was cloudy and seemed to be out of action. When I asked the receptionist he came and pressed the buttons which we had been doing forc15 minutes and walked away with the jacuzzi still showing no sign of bubbles. I had a glass of wine in the reception area and was told I would not be allowed in the pool area, considering we had clearly given up on the spa area I was handed a cloudy plastic glass , to which I refused and ask fir a glass, much to the receptionist annoyance. The Greenway has always been considered one of the best of Cheltenham but I can honestly say it is now considered a disappointment.
The Greenway afternoon Tea - the perfect celebration
Following a funeral service at the Cheltenham Crematorium we wanted somewhere to escape, reflect a little, relax, and enjoy a small family reunion. The ask was simple: log fires, a few drinks in stylish surroundings, and a sumptuous afternoon tea. We settled on the Greenway. Booking was easy, we were expected on arrival, ushered into a lounge (with a log fire - hurrah), drinks order taken, followed by various family toasts. Tea was announced and we were shown into a private room with dining table all set. And then the food arrived. I can't do it justice here but suffice to say it was delightful, imaginative, plentiful, beautifully presented, and delicious . The choice was wide and satisfied three different generations. The service was exemplary; friendly, courteous, efficient and timely. And, they boxed up what we didn't finish and two parties talked endlessly about the afternoon on their train back to London - much to the amusement of other passengers as they tucked in to their tuck box. Value for money? 'Absolutely' on every level. I can't thank or recommend the staff enough. Next time I need to stay in Cheltenham - there is only one place I am heading. The Greenway. Bravo!
High quality
We were there over Xmas and Boxing days so our deal was a "package". We did not use the Spa. The staff at all times were cheerful and efficient, and it was super to have our room made up while we had breakfast ! Our bedroom (no. 1) was spacious, with good bathroom facilities, a very comfortable bed and a very efficient central heating system. Also very welcome were the number of power points, including USB connections. A small bottle of fresh milk was a nice touch for tea/coffee. The hotel is a converted very old manor house with extensive grounds, and it is very peaceful as it is well back from the road. The food is excellent and the service impeccable. This is not a cheap hotel but it is of a very high quality. We will be back !
Fantastic, Elegant and Charming!
Currently staying at this hotel and I’m blown away by the beauty of it. A Stunning building that boasts luxury; with a Rustic fireplace, grand lounge and friendly staff on arrival, with Laura being a warm, kind and excellent host. Booked the Manor four poster room and Classic room (Ash and Oak) and both are fantastic. When booking the room, James, Laura and Madaline were very helpful, answering all my questions and requests for the room including; rose petals on the bed, afternoon tea in the room and a celebration truffle plate. The small touches like a personalised letter, fruit and Biscotti, alongside the freindly housekeeping staff checking in to see if we needed any more tea, coffee etc. were lovely to see and elevate this stay to above most 5* hotels!! Cannot fault the service! Both rooms aren’t done justice by the photos on the website, being much larger and filled with character (as the photos show). Very clean and comfortable rooms/beds, excellent amenities and delicious food from the restaurant. All staff are welcoming and and facilities are beautiful, surpassing my expectations. I’ve stayed in many luxury/ 5* hotels across the UK and this is quite possibly the best. Will definitely be returning and recommending to freinds/ family. Just cannot wait for breakfast now 😊
Outstanding experience!
A friend and I have just had the best time at this hotel. We were celebrating my friends 60th birthday and this was the perfect experience. The service, food, bedrooms and facilities were outstanding. The beautiful old house has been sympathetically restored and the decor and furnishings were entirely in keeping with the age of the house. The location of the house has wonderful views of the stunning countryside which surrounds it. Can thoroughly recommend!
Overpriced, but okay
There are lots of good things about this hotel/spa - the spa facilities were lovely (indoor pool, sauna, steam, outdoor hot-tub), rooms recently renovated, amazing grounds and good (if expensive) food. As others have noted, this hotel is expensive - almost £600 for room and breakfast - for a room that overlooks the spa courtyard (which is quite loud since club members come in to use the hot-tub). However, we turned up to find that our spa appointment that we'd booked had actually been made for the following month. They managed to squeeze us in, but it was super stressful. Additionally, the wifi in our room just didn't work (room 25). It worked in the hallway outside, but as soon as the door closed there was no service. Finally, about 3am, we woke up to water leaking from the ceiling. We managed to put a garbage pail underneath to catch the drips. But it's hard to justify the price.
Birthday celebration break
Absolutely brilliant break at this venue, staff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean and service was first rate throughout our stay. We ate in the restaurant each evening and the food and service was 5star. Perfect location for exploring Cheltenham and surrounding area
Lovely stay. Sensational food!
We stayed here for a night in a Feature room and had dinner and breakfast. The room was spacious, clean and elegantly decorated with a huge bath. The staff were helpful and friendly and we used the spa facilities which were relaxing, comfortable and clean. The pool was small but warm with jacuzzi jets. However the real highlight of our stay was dinner. We had a 3 course meal - the flavour was superb for every course and the portions were a good size. As an addition, we loved the homemade orange biscotti in the room and the turn down service was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also delicious, especially the homemade granola and fruit. This was a lovely hotel for comfort, offering spa and country walks (Crickley Hill nearby had gorgeous views) but the meals were truly outstanding!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

I’m sorry to hear about this - I’m a brand new seller on the platform and didn’t realize this was a *thing* - any chance you can point me to the fine print/documentation where this policy is stated (also identifying other caveats like this would be appreciated)?
