Poor quality/price ratio
The quality/price ratio is poor. It's ordinary for the price. Chicken tacos with very few vegetables with 1/4 cup of rice that tastes like nothing.

Fabulous, bare bones sit down restaurant. Extensive and comprehensive menu. Huge portion of excellent pozole. Birria tacos were wonderful. No alcohol, but excellent Mexican juices and sodas. Part of the Jean Talon market, which is well worth going to. Will definitely be back.

Restaurant located at the Jean Talon market. Authentic Mexican restaurant, really very good, I really rediscovered the taste of what I ate in Mexico.

This is one of our top places to get tacos! We make the drive from Vermont to make it happen! Wait, wait I know you’re thinking Vermont and Tacos don’t go together- you’re right! I was born in Santa Maria, CA and lived and eaten tacos in New Mexico, New York, and been to Baja California and puerto Vallarta in search of great tacos and these guys are legit. It’s a pain living in a taco desert like VT, but being so close to great MTL tacos is a real treat!

We were at the market and stopped in here for very good Mexican cuisine. Very friendly service and reasonable prices. They also have a good Mexican market here for groceries.

This place is amazing. What looks like a dirty little restaurant serves up the best Mexican food I've found in many visits to Canada. The meat is tender and savory, the tortillas are hot and soft, and the drinks are authentic. Even the staff seems like they just arrived from Guadalajara! I love this place. And the location is good for exploring the market or Little Italy.

I love Mexican food, but I can't stand pretentious Mexican restaurants that charge you a fortune for what is ultimately simple, ordinary food. Le Roi du Taco is my ideal Mexican restaurant: simple, excellent food at reasonable prices. My only complaint is that they don't have a liquor license. Their hibiscus drink is great, but I'd still rather have a beer.

I definitely wasn’t impressed, a bit pricey for the quality and taste of food. Honestly, when visiting Montreal we have had better food for less $$$ I don’t mind paying high prices for Good Quality and Tasty Food! Usually, when restaurants owners start cutting corners is when they run into this kind of issues. I visited several times before the pandemia and I had a better experience, this time went with my daughters and tried their mole, the enchiladas and also the pozole (soup) and didn’t taste authentic Mexican food. The churros were pricey, and were served cold and dry, Very Dissatisfied, definitely Not what we Expected on Easter Day! I am sorry for my honest opinion. It wouldn’t recommended...
