Food fine, service poor
Food and cocktails were enjoyable. However, service was poor. The waiter seemed to have no real understanding of the menu and did not engage with us and made our experience super awkward.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Mexican
We were looking for somewhere for a pre theatre meal, gong to see Moulin Rouge, came across this lovely Mexican. Great atmosphere, lovely decor. I chose steak quesadillas, my daughter chose the tacos, we also ordered the guacamole and nachos. The meal was lovely and we really enjoyed it, we had a drink as well. Not too expensive considering your in London, cost £57 for the two of us including tip. Would highly recommend, the staff were brilliant, very attentive.
Be the first to ReplySadly very disappointed
Really disappointed by our experience. Expensive, small portions and most of food was tepid and a couple of dishes were just plain boring. Waiting staff were impossible to hear as music too loud for their voices. Venue is aesthetically pleasing and great location but in our opinion not worth the £££z

We had a great Saturday lunch with friends. Service was excellent. Food was very special and would go again.. it’s pricy but worth it.
Be the first to ReplyNice place for early evening Soho dinner
Came here for an early tea with friends on a Thursday evening, was pretty full early on so nice atmosphere although the ground floor room has high ceilings so felt a bit cavernous. Enjoyed the food, I took the quesadilla which was good and guacamole excellent. Margarita’s nice but at over £10 each and not that big, 6 later added to the bill quickly! Wine was nice too.
Be the first to ReplyOk but portions are small
Booked online and restaurant were accommodating about request for highchair and space for buggy. Warm friendly reception at the door and general atmosphere of the place has a good vibe. The food itself was tasty enough but all felt the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price, so didn’t feel like we were getting good value for money. But we were in Soho so is to be expected I guess!
Be the first to ReplyNice visit
Nice venue, outstanding service. Food and drink was good but could have been served hotter. Gringo enchiladas and chicken tacos.
Be the first to ReplyA piece of Mexico in London
Good food and very close to Mexican, the sauces are well made, the pastor tacos and the guacamole taste good, we feel like we are in Mexico, the michelada is a little spicy but delicious, the margaritas are very delicious, the place is nice even though it is far away. half light, the attention and service was excellent, I recommend it
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and drink & great service
Excellent! We were lucky to be seated from a walk in, eat, drink and pay while still having 10 minutes to walk around the corner to the theatre - delicious Mexican food and an amazing virgin pina colada! Will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyMexican excellent food!
I had a very good and fun time. I love the mexican food, knowing i live next door to a mexican restaurant at home. :) A very swift and efficient service and very friendly. I'm going back in september! greetings, Yves, Belgium
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Place in Soho
I went to El Pastor in soho with 2 friends on the 15th for dinner and let me tell you about my experience in this restaurant. We went for a late dinner around 21.30 ish. The host was a super kind and very polite young man with a super fashion jacket that reminded me of my times in uni!!! Amazing!!! Unfortunately, because of the strikes, the restaurant was a bit empty but we were there because of a recommendation from a friend. The fact of being empty didn't take the amazing and delicious food that we had. We had this waiter that was just something else, super funny and always smiling at us!! We also had an older young man who came to our table to check on our food and if we were having a good time. We didn't get their names, but our waiter and the guy that came to us were the two most incredible people I have seen in London. The prawn taco that we had was so good! We also had a corn cake that really melted in my mouth!! I really want to thank El Pastor soho team for this amazing time, and to everyone reading my experience, please make your selfs a favor and go there if you want a kind and extraordinary Mexican experience!!
Be the first to ReplyWorst service in london
Genuinely the worst service in london thus far on my trip. Between the chef refusing to make one simple substitution on the menu to the waiter cursing our table out, I would never recommend this place. The food was bland and overpriced not to mention that the manager couldn’t care less about how his staff treated us. Horrible experience wish i didn’t even have to pay.
Be the first to ReplyWaiter cursed at us and manager did not care
Came here for dinner with 2 of my friends. One of my friends is even from the states and wanted to show her a fun time in London. We simply asked the waiter to switch the fried chicken to grilled and he laughed in our face in refused. He then claimed he couldn’t speak English but later in the night when she asked if he was sure the chef couldn’t change the chicken for dietary restrictions he told us to “show some f word respect”. Food wasn’t bad but that service is absolutely appalling.
Be the first to ReplyEverything about it absolutely fantastic!
I have been to this place twice now and will keep going back and back. Everything is great. Fantastic cocktails - I would recommend the diablito margarita, and I would highly recommend a Michelada (with pacific rim beer)- it’s like a beer Bloody Mary and is so so good. Salsa’s are a must (free refills) as is the guacamole. The tuna tostada I would have over and over again. Good range of tacos- I had a special Bajan avocado as a pescatarian and prawn - prawn was spicy! But all of it was delicious. Our server (Ondrej?) was great, super happy and helpful. Order of service was great- not too fast, not too slow. I think the bad reviews are not fair or a bad day as both times I’ve been here are great. And there is a cocktail bar below if you want an after dinner drink. Food looked to good we didn’t stop and take any photos for the review! See you soon :)
Be the first to ReplyShocked by negative reviews
Wow I'm shocked to read poor reviews as our experience was the total opposite. Excellent service with a lovely friendly chap serving us. Food was prompt and delicious. Corn cake and the chocolate dessert finished the meal off very well, highly recommend both. Food was full of flavour and felt like authentic Mexican food. Nice atmosphere and cocktails too. We will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyDreadful place. I would not recommend this place
Dreadful place. The tacos were ok, the dark chocolate dessert was good, BUT, this was over shadowed by the unpleasant service and poor management. I could write a long negative narrative to describe our awful experience in this place but its not worth it.

We came here for cocktails in downstairs bar, which is one of few places around that actually open till late. Fantastic selection of unique, Mexican themed and tequila based cocktail 😎 it's really rare gem in Soho as I don't even know is there any other Mexican place I can think off
Be the first to ReplyMediocre food, nice atmosphere
Average food, friendly service. There is such a choice in London and it’s always a little disappointing when you spend money and leave having had ok food. It wasn’t bad, just not great.drinks were good and service was very friendly. Expensive for what it was. Too much competition to be mediocre
Be the first to ReplyAvoid
Food was OK, not best tacos, not worst. Very good guacamole. Service was terrible. We’ve waited 30 min, and there was not that many guests. They say totopos are unlimited- guess not.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service
A big fan of El Pastor at London Bridge but my first time in soho. We were told they needed the table back in an hour, which is ironic as the service was SO slow. Drinks never arrived, guac as a started also forgotten about and brought after mains. My tacos were stone cold and the sweet corn was like it had been frozen!! Ice cold. Then I asked for the bill 4 times and in the end had to pay as I walked out as no one came. Wasn’t busy. Staff all just stood around aimlessly. But the food is so good at London Bridge and this was absolutely horrible. Tasteless, stone cold and has put me off this restaurant entirely. Ruined a family meal as I’d told them how good it was and we all left most of our food. Not good at all. The women next to us walked out without paying as they’d asked if they could be 6-7 times and no one came with their bill and they had to get a train! They’d been sat there about 45 mins asking for bill!! Very bad.
Be the first to ReplyThe most horrible experience of my life
The staff was friendly and the ambiance was nice. However, the food was horribly bad. It was tasteless and it made my stomach so bad that I vomited afterwards. This was the worst mexican food I’ve ever had in my entire life. The nachos were hard and the quesadilla wasn’t quesadilla
Be the first to ReplyBland and overpriced
I used to really enjoy this restaurant in borough market so decided to visit the soho branch with friends. It wasn’t a great experience - the tacos were greasy and bland. I won’t return and would advise you to go somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyFresh and delicious food with great service
Great service with special attention given as it was our wedding anniversary - new manager Stevie introduced himself, offered a complimentary drink and reserved a table in the bar after we had eaten. All the food was beautifully fresh and full of flavour, we particularly liked the tuna tostadas. We first used this restaurant for their eat at home package during lockdown, and would definitely eat here again

Really fancied some margheritas and tacos and looked up Mexican places in London. Saw this place has a table and rocked up. The frozen mango margheritas are excellent so tasty with a little chilli kick. We ordered all the salsas so we could try them all they were all delicious but the pineapple and habanero one is next level. The tacos themselves were great quite full with the filling of choice but not overfill that it’s spilling everywhere. Really enjoyed it here and when I next come to London will be coming again.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food for a leisurely lunch
We wanted to try a big range of food as we were hungry, and initially the waiter suggested we were ordering too much, however I think we got it just right for 4 of us in the end. After some guacamole to start, we shared a scallop tostada, a quesadilla, 3 tacos (chicken, baja, and crab), and a sharing plate of cochinita pibil, plus the 3 salsas. Food arrived quite spaced out which worked well for us given the amount of food we had ordered and that we wanted a leisurely lunch. Everything was delicious, but the favourite was probably the al pastor in the quesadilla and we’d get this as a taco next time. Service was generally good, aside from some confusion over what type of margarita I’d ordered, but this was quickly resolved. After a few rounds of drinks, it came to £73 per couple.
