El Five Denver Reviews from The Last Year
Be careful leaving your car with their valet! The valet
Be careful leaving your car with their valet! The valet guys were using our car without our permission. We walked down to get our car from valet after eating here, and as we do, we see valet leave the parking lot in our car with someone in the passenger seat. When we finally got our car after 10 minutes of waiting, we mentioned it to the guy that we saw him driving off with our car. He froze and then admitted yeah he took it to drop off waitresses to their car. What the hell?? Not ok, what so ever. We will not be leaving our car with valet. You don't know if they will park it or use it for whatever their personal needs are. Seems like it wasn't the first time they did that either. Just to be aware.

What a wonderful dining experience! My boyfriend and I have been dying to try this place for months. We had the absolute best time from the minute we walked through the parking garage at the base of the building to the end of our meal. The atmosphere is dimly lit with beautiful paintings/murals along the walls. Every employee enthusiastically says hello as you pass by. The staff will go above and beyond to create the ultimate night for you! We didn't have drinks, but tried a diverse spread of the menu. For tapas, we shared the Goat Cheese Croquettas, Marissa Eggplant Fries (easily the winner of the evening - absolutely delicious), the Bison, and Lamb Shank (interesting). For the paella, we split the Carbon Culture Mushroom (very large and filling dish; rich!). Throughout the entirety of the visit, a chef came out to personally point out which dishes had gluten in them (I'm gluten intolerant), our host frequently checked in and provided amazing suggestions, and the manager was generous enough to comp a tapa because our paella took longer than expected. It's been a very long time since I've had service this excellent!

Waited an hour and half for burnt rice bowl they call seafood paella. Go for drinks and views, avoid the food, not worth the $$$!!!
We live in Breckenridge and were visiting friends in Denver.
El Five was our choice for a special occasion meal. The view of the city was spectacular, the variety of food was fabulous, the drinks were to die for, the service was great, and the owner went the extra mile to make our dining experience a memorable and special experience. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, I do not recommend the indoor patio if it's warm out though...it gets a bit toasty With that being said the food was amazing and the service was immaculate. The food came out PERFECTLY timed which is big at a tapas place, I usually find myself overwhelmed with things coming out all at once but they killed it The food (pictured) was all perfect, can't say one bad thing.

What went well? Actually what didn't! The food, service, and ambiance are fantastic! We had the med sampler. So so good. We also had the matso ball dumplings and the mushroom paella. It was just over the top delicious. My number one pick for Denver hands down. And the view....

Loved my date night here! It was so easy to find gluten free and dairy free options. We had the harissa eggplant fries and the carne paella and wouldn't change a thing about our order. We had a French press and the bartender was super friendly. The views and ambiance are incredible. Want to try the seafood paella at some point but it will be tough to pass up the carne!

This place has been on my Denver bucket list since I moved here! And I finally tried it during Denver Restaurant week. We got to try a bunch of different items on the menu and everything we tried was delicious! I loved the chicken paella. The "mini" size was more than enough. And I loved the croquettes! The servers were very attentive and answered any question we had. Plus if you're lucky to sit by the window, you get a gorgeous view of downtown Denver.
Restaurant was dimly lit but bright enough to see.
Nice colors on the walls/ around the restaurant. Drinks and food excellent and well presented. Outdoor patio with heaters or option of outdoor with plastic cover to protect from elements. Blend of music playing. Brandon our server was attentive and helpful. Reservations honored and were ready when we were.
Ultra-mod, incredible view, abundant offerings, reasonable prices
Your first experience with El Five (EF) is likely to be wandering around the correct intersection for a while. Don't give up! The entrance is tucked deep within a covered passage of the building -- where you take an elevator to the top (5th) floor. (A guess about the name: You take the EL-evator to floor FIVE.) On stepping into EF, you're struck by an ultra-mod, big-city-chic decor. As you're shown to your table, you're struck by a drop-dead view of Denver — from central city to the western edges of America's unparalleled Great Plains. (TIP for summer visitors: Dine al fresco by booking as soon as you’re able, at an early hour, to get outdoor seating.) As to food and drink: EF’s tag line is "Tapas de Gibraltar," which is totally fitting, as the menu overflows with dishes and ingredients of the world’s healthiest cuisine—whether you call it Mediterranean or Spanish. My wife and I are not fans of spicy foods, and thus would have preferred more naked servings, especially of the otherwise delicious sea bass we shared. As is appropriate with tapas, quantities of menu items were less than mains, but easily sufficient to share. The two of us managed to devour five selections, ranging from couscous to lamb sausage to spanakopita, and more. Prices are very reasonable for Denver. Our five food items, two drinks each, fees, taxes, and generous tip amounted to $237.

Came here for my husbands birthday with some friends and this restaurant is amazing - the view is incredible and thankfully most tables have access to the view so it's not a huge deal if you don't have a window table. Ambiance is moody and bas a cool mix of spanish and mediterranean. Service was great, we made reservations online and they were great with knowing there was a birthday. The food was so good, our favorites were the lamb sausage hummus plate and the seafood paella. The bison albóndigas and pork tenderloins were good, but we were fine with just having them once. Drinks were also amazing, a bit pricey for multiples but very good for a celebration!
Cool atmosphere and city views from the bar area.
The restaurant is fairly large with a lot of seating options. Food was great. Good cocktails. Looking forward to returning to try their paella.
Go to El 5 even if you aren't planning to have a meal there.
Go specifically for a Negroni. I flew in from Los Angeles for dinner - the restaurant was recommended by a family member. At table, I was asked by a lovely young lady, Erica, for my drink order. I asked, "Can you make me a Negroni?" She replied with a confident and brilliant smile, "Of course I can!" I gave her my gin preference. The cocktail arrived presented with a beautiful, crystal clear square ice cube with the number "5" molded on it. However, the rich, jewel-like color of the liquid made it immediately apparent that this was no ordinary Negroni. With the first sip...what is happening here?! I was puzzled. This was a secret drink of the gods, a confidential mead; this was a magic elixir. It was by far the best Negroni I had ever tasted. I had to ask Erica, "What was put into this drink? How was it made? Was a different ratio of ingredients used?" She went off to find the answer. I wondered how a combination of just 3 simple ingredients be such a revalation? Erica soon returned with the answer: "We make our own vermouth." I looked at her. I could only reply by nodding my head, saying slowly, knowingly, and with painful resignation and acceptance, "You make your own vermouth." I felt ruined. I knew I would never have another Negroni like that anywhere else. But wait! LA is only a 2 and a half hour flight from Denver...Chef Corey, thank you for a delicious dinner. Erica, thank you for taking good care of us. To the genius who made the vermouth, the sensory experience of that Negroni will stay with me for a very, very long time. Thank you all for a special night.

Great ambiance, service and food! The food and flavors were extremely unique and they had a wide variety of food options. The paella is worth the wait and I would actually recommend the veggie with meat tapas beforehand! Great views of the city. The dessert wasn't impressive, but they will celebrate a bday with a candle!

Sit at the chefs counter, get the seabass and lamb, get the Pinot or Tempranillo to wash them down, get the basque cheese cake then come here to thank me!
Lovely dining experience at El Five.
Skipped the drinks and went straight for the food - my favorites were the sea bass and the eggplant fries - the fries were amazing! My husband liked the chicken croquettes and mezze platter. The dessert was surprisingly nice - a little sweet but I liked it. The only disappointment we had was with the matzo soup dumplings, they were flavorful but the dumpling cover was very thick and we could barely taste the stuffing inside. I did see they had a cbd drink on their cocktail menu and we will be back during summer time to try drinks and apps!
We came during restaurant week.
The views were pretty cool! Everything else about this experience was tough. The pinxtos was disappointing. The smoked sardine rillette was incredibly tin-y tasting, like canned tuna, and had a pretty bad aftertaste. The tortilla espanol wasn't awful, but lacked flavor and was very cold. For second course, we went with chicken croquettes and Tunisian couscous. The croquettes were pretty good. The Tunisian couscous lacked flavor, and the lions mane mushroom kabob it came with was unbelievably salty. We both got the European sea bass for mains and found it super salty, fishy, and lacking flavor. Too much going on in one plate. When dessert rolled around, the crema catalana stole the show, that was super yummy. The cheesecake was just fine, wouldn't order again. I know it was restaurant week, but service was really really bad. A server came to take our order promptly and our first two courses came out relatively fast. Then everything seemed to stall, and the second two courses took forever. We ended up being here for over 2 hours, not intentionally. Overall, disappointing (cold, salty) food and service, at a heightened price. The views are fun but we won't be back.
Off the charts wonderful!
We loved everything about this restaurant. The view is spectacular of the Denver citywide scape. The each bite of food was unique, both visually and tastefully delicious. The service was impeccable. We will be back.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
