Fabulous food, creative but not absurdly, a very original and very good mix of flavors, the cod fritters, the patatas bravas, the figatells, everything. The very friendly staff. A place to return to, without a doubt.
Be the first to ReplyCreatively delicious, fun and crazy!
What a simplistic, creative, cozy, typical Spanish restaurant with a fun/crazy waiter!! But then the dishes: flavor combinations that explode on your taste buds in a different way. Star level for an attractive price. A truly surprising evening!
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorites in Dénia
Always a success and surprises you with its originality in the dishes and the good product. It is essential to book in time or you will be left without an option. The noise from the restaurant due to poor soundproofing detracts from the experience, a shame.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular!! Lots of flavor and quality of product in a family atmosphere
I went to dinner with my husband after making a reservation 6 months ago and it was well worth it. The atmosphere is very welcoming from the team of waiters, although it is true that the acoustics could be improved, a lot of noise is generated. Particularly noteworthy is the grilled eggplant. llama with honey and goat cheese as well as the very surprising yet simple picanya coca. The dessert was a discovery with different chocolate textures that were completely unexpected as well as very tasty. We will repeat without hesitation!!!!

It had been about 2 years since we had returned to Baret and... it was time. After booking well in advance, we have eaten 2 people magnificently, as always when we go. Our order: 2 pints of beer, 1 glass of fruity white wine, 2 cod fritters with mullador, delicious - as always -, the new version of cuttlefish figatell with squid, clamar ink biscuit and traditional snack (which we loved ), version of shrimp amb bleda -chard-, 2 units, very original and exquisite tapa, a squid sandwich without bread, really delicious, a fish stew (includes mullet, mackerel, bonito and tuna, with a tomato sauce, fried garlic, roasted tomatoes and some more vegetables that we have not identified, but all very delicious). We finished with a very delicious cheesecake. As always, Miquel uses the raw materials he finds on the market - therefore 0 km products - to which he applies his genius and originality. Good service.
Be the first to ReplyI struggle to find words to describe this gem of a restaurant!
El Baret de Miguel, Carrer Historiador Palau 1, Dénia Dénia's reputation as a "foodie town" is unequalled in the Marina Alta and much wider in Spain generally. In this restaurant we have much to be proud of! The only very slight negative is that it's extremely difficult to make a reservation, especially for dinner! That's due to the consistent quality of the imaginative food produced year after year. Already we are looking forward so much to our next visit, probably in close to 6 months time! The appearance of the restaurant is very different to that which one might expect but judge 'El Baret' by the exemplary food and service only!

I think it is the best place in our country for someone to try haute cuisine at an unbeatable price. Miquel's cooking concepts are clear, coherent and rooted in the territory. The integration of the Mediterranean sea and mountains in its cuisine is total and offers you dishes with intense but very well defined flavors, no dish leaves you indifferent, which is very difficult in a meal with so many different dishes. The service led by Puri could not be closer and at the same time more professional, making you feel at home. The desserts are on par with the other dishes, they are sublime. In my case, being my birthday, they had the detail of making me a spectacular meringue cake. I have been here on quite a few occasions, but I hope to be welcomed many more times in this wonderful place. If you are going to be in Denia, you should try to book in advance, although a specific trip is worth it to eat there.

What matters here is the kitchen. The place is a baret which does not fool anyone. Good attention from all members. Duck pâté with sweet potato cream, a classic that should not disappear. Magic egg with mushrooms and hedgehog. Innovation with very Denia touches, there was a leftover pinch of salt like in the next dish. Bravas potatoes with sea background. Good work with products available to everyone such as mussels and shepherd's raimet. Sweetbreads with peanuts in cream. For me the best, the dwarf orange 🍊 in syrup contributes a lot. Lemon cake with meringue and lemon ice cream with zest. Round dessert. Just one but, small beer bottles seem almost an insult to the customer and this happens in many establishments.

A cozy place with very good tapas, it has a menu that is not very extensive but plenty to eat very well. Even though it was late, they took care of us and fed us. Fast and friendly service and cuisine. The price is not bad at all since it is a good, quality product.

Delicious food, close service, very charming place. From the moment you enter the "baret" you realize that you are going to enjoy yourself. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious, the service was unbeatable. 100% recommended. An experience out of 10.
Be the first to ReplyA fabulous dining experience, there may be cheaper restaurants in Denia, but I doubt whether any serve better food.
On being handed the menu we were initially disappointed as we were expecting a menu del dia, or similar. The menu is a wide selection of tapas, with little description of what each plate offered. However with the help of Google translate, and a bit of intuition, we made our choice and then as each plate arrived ran out of superlatives to describe each dish. All, we're stunning, extremely fresh, complex, but simple and full of magnificent flavour. The atmosphere is very relaxed, but the staff very professional and quietly attentive.
Be the first to ReplyIt's worth it
I think it's good, but without going overboard, there are some spectacular flavors that you don't expect, and the food itself has quality and presentation. The place is a "baret" and that already says it all. The price of cava is somewhat high for its cost at origin, I see the rest as well proportioned. The best to highlight: the Fritters and the Eggplant.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent & enjoyable Denia dining experience
As ever, exceptional. Creative & innovative food prepared by a talented team under the direction of the great chef Miguel Ruiz and all brought together by the excellent staff of waiters. This is a dining experience which combines excellent fresh produce with creative presentation and complemented with an interesting selection of wines. Every waiter knows the ingredients of every dish which for me has always been a sign of a well managed restaurant. The restaurant was, as always, full and this also provides an excellent atmosphere and ambience. A truly enjoyable dining experience!

I booked 4 months ago and we were very excited to try Miguel s food! We were so disappointed by the food and by the service. We ordered the steak tartare and it was so spiced. It wasn’t written on the menu it was very hot! we did ask to get another one much less spiced. The waiter told us , it is not possible to change it because it has to be very spiced!! What answer is that?!?
the rest of the food was ok nothing more …
I don’t understand why it is so popular!
Fabulous
A tantalizingly tasty and exquisite food art experience. Can't recommend highly enough. Lovely, helpful staff and fabulous food at affordable prices. Sporting a shabby chic cafe look with a fine collection of soda syphons and small chairs on a back street near the vibrant centre of town, this is certainly one of Dénia's jewels in the crown not to be missed.
