Iconic diner spot on the EUS.
Great place to go for a casual breakfast or lunch. The chocolate chip pancakes are a must try!
Be the first to ReplyGood diner spot that still has that retro feel.
The food is pretty good as well. Definitely feels like a neighborhood spot and was pretty busy for 8pm on a tuesday. If I were in the area I'd stop by but wouldn't go out of my way for it. Worth stopping by if JG melon on the corner has a crazy wait!

One of my faves for comfort food on the UES (they got the BIG menu!!!). All of their pancakes and french toasts are delicious, but the savory options are great as well. Snag a seat at the bar if you can and check out their amazing handmade pie selections. It's always busy during lunch/brunch time but wait time is fairly short. Most guests are locals coming to pick up takeout orders and it's a great place to people watch.
Be the first to ReplyVery good dinner food.
I've ordered from here a few times, and the meals are always delicious. This time, I only ordered the Power Greens Salad to go, but I've tried other options such as the burger. It was very good, offering a variety of textures and flavors, including spinach, kale, lettuce, chicken, craisins, corn, carrots, cucumber, pumpkin seeds, and tomato. I wish the kale had been marinated, as it was very raw.Ambiance is classic dinner. Also, they alway take an order, no matter how close they are to closing time!

Be the first to ReplyFood is always great and they serve you quickly.
It's expensive like every other diner in NYC. Waitstaff is average (none of them seem happy) but they get the job done.

I keep coming back to this place for one thing only which is their chocolate brownie add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. When I tell you I crave this at least once a month I'm not even joking. It's literally the most basic dessert ever but idk why it just slaps at this place. I'm drooling just writing this review about it.
Be the first to ReplyAlmost always crowded.
Lines outside the restaurant. Try to come at off time. Nice staff. Food is good. Reasonable for Manhattan pricing. We like the crowd. When the place is packed, it can be very noisy however. If you have not tried it, you should at least go there once and judge for yourself. It's a popular sometimes touristy place.
Be the first to ReplyNot bad at all! The server was helpful and friendly.
The food came out hot and quickly! Will come back in the future.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered chicken dish which I remembered as being quite good.
Alas, it was tough and inedible.
Be the first to ReplyI hadn't been here in years.
Entirely mediocre food. Undercooked eggs. Grits with a skin like they've been sitting out for hours. Low quality commercial bread. A melt sandwich came out cold as if never even heated. Nothing fresh. Excellent waitstaff.

This staff at this restaurant are absolutely repulsive and disrespectful. Their food is extremely unappetizing and tastes disgusting. They add on a massively inappropriate tip and demand It be paid. My friends and I go out every weekend. I am very well aware of the appropriate amount to tip and that giving a tip is not mandatory but it's important to tip speaking as waiters do not make minimum wage because of the tips they get. It's very rare that I do not tip at a restaurant but this place should be paying me to eat there . The manger has no issue yelling and cursing at customers. I will never return to the shack unless there is a gun to my head. If you are look for a diner there are many others such as: Green kitchen, Gracie's diner, 89th street diner and bocado cafe. Enjoy your time eating!

Love this diner spot on the UES! It was bustling during a late lunch on a Friday afternoon, however, we were immediately seated at the counter and approached by a server to get drinks ordered. Food - delish! Cozy diner staples and some massive fresh salads. We tried the Mac and cheese appetizer which was creamy with Al dente pasta. The power greens salad with salmon was massive with crisp veggies and lettuce. The salmon was perfectly cooked. The side of sweet potatoes was also a huge basket - I wish they had an aioli dip for these. The turkey club was huge and my BF had to save half of it. The turkey was slice nice and thick which IMO is how it must be for a club sandwich. They brought some extra basil Mayo for the sandwich when requested that made it even better. My BF devoured his fries before I even tried one so I assume they were also good. Service - friendly and efficient Atmosphere - bright and clean and very cute old-school diner vibes Prices - the prices are a bit high for diner style food, however, the food is really fresh and the portions are massive. You could definitely share a dish and a side here and be full. Highly recommend stopping in for a lunch or brunch and catching up with a friend at this spot.

Be the first to ReplyYouve gotta love this place.
It's like taking a trip back in time to an old fashioned corner luncheonette, with a counter with stools, a very basic food menu, and of course egg creams and milk shakes. You're not getting anything fancy, it's super simple. Grilled cheese on white bread with a pickle spear. A cheeseburger. Scrambled eggs and bacon. The prices are pretty steep! But your kind of paying for the experience and the nostalgia and honestly, it's worth it every now and then. Take your kids.

Sat down at counter And food was terrible - soggy eggs cold toast old and soft hash browns. ย Told owner about it and he could not care less. ย He did make a point of telling me that he has been In that location for 30 years and is doing just fine. ย So arrogant and didn't care at all about the quality of his food. ย Better options all over UES pls don't reward mediocrity.

I hate that I have to update my review but I just feel like I need to leave a warning.Came her for lunch around 4:00pm. I got to a beauty appointment way early and figured a quick bite here would help me kill some time. I asked to sit outside in their heated booth and was told to have a seat. There was only one family sitting in this area also. After a few minutes of staff members coming in and not making eye contact with me (which is odd because its me and one other table) I asked if I could order. I was told the space is closed and when I said I was told to sit here they let me take my order. The table behind me left and it was just me and two guys came in and started stacking every single table and chair around me! Eating alone is something totally out of my comfort zone so this happening at the same time was really making me sad. I think one of them got the vibe they shouldnt be clearing the space around me as I eat so they stepped out after stacking 90% of the chairs. After about 3 minutes in the quiet I see what I think is a leaf blowing around, then two, then three, then four, then 5.....MICE. I stopped counting after five but there were so many mice running around the floor of this outdoor area. This outdoor space is great for winter but bad for this because its completely enclosed with a door (the window cutouts are open for air) I understand they cant control this and the mice are likely enjoying the warm space but it made it impossible to stick around after that. So I left 90% of my food untouched and booked it. Leaving this review to remind guests not to put your bags on the ground/be aware of our fur friends.
