East Harbor Restaurant Aloha Reviews from The Last Year

We had our typical dim sum that we always order from any dim sum restaurant. Our first time to East Harbor: lo mai gai, bean curd sheet pork roll, egg/custard tart, BBQ pork steamed buns, and from the menu Dry Scallop and Egg White Fried Rice, Crispy Noodle with Chicken. Good was the lo mai gai, BBQ pork buns, Dry Scallop and Egg White Fried Rice. Bean curd pork roll had a pale white color which matched the bland taste, egg/custard tart looked like frozen microwaved item, Crispy Noodle w/ Chicken was short on chicken skimpy on the gravy not enough to cover the crispy noodle. Only for convenience if we are in Beaverton and Aloha will we go back.
Food is always amazing and so many options.
The Peking duck is fabulous. We also love the calamari and hot and sour soup!
I was rather disappointed with East Harbor.
I had higher expectations considering some of the great reviews I read. The food was pedestrian dim sum but rather expensive. Service is unremarkable, as was everything about the place. Suffice to say its biggest selling point is that it's close, but I'd rather go into Beaverton for Chinatown Restaurant than eat at East Harbor. Main thing I remember at East Harbor was they didn't carry a few items my daughter and son requested. Ah, well. It's not terrible, but not stellar either.
Okay Chinese/Cantonese fare.
We ordered some dimsum and noodle dish. The beef brisket isn't as tender as other places. The noodles were al dente. Friendly service. It's a bit dark and dim inside. The interior is a bit dated. Fish claypot Beef with Broccoli Beef Brisket Noodle soup Dimsum selections Prices slightly high but large portion. It was something along the way we found after a trip to Costco.
Had food delivered.
Had food here years ago and remember loving it. Tonight I feel like I wasted 60$. noodles were so bland, literally flavorless, and they didn't include any soy sauce or sriracha to make up for the blandness. Duck was decent but the way they cut it made it hard to eat, looked like meat but upon biting in was so boney, that wasn't a deal breaker though because the meat was good. Pot stickers were okay, but again bland. Doubt we will order here again.

Dim Sum y'all on the Westside!! A treasure awaits you at East Harbor. The dim sum and the regular entrees are delicious through and through. Our group of 7 had a little bit of everything - dim sum favorites - shumai, shrimp and chive dumplings, sticky rice steamed in a lotus leave, pork ribs in black bean sauce, bbq pork humbow, egg custard tarts. Then the entrees - sweet and sour chicken; eggplant and string beans; a Szechuan chicken dish and fried rice with a bit of broccoli in it to brighten it up, traditional Chinese broccoli. It was a flavorful feast. Grab the gang and head to the East Harbor on the Westside!
Food was bomb and came out quick.
Service was kinda slow on the beverage side but we will definitely be back!
This place is outstanding.
Don't let the outside decide you. Staff is nice and attentive. The food is very authentic and delicious. Don't listen to the other people are here who pretend they know what they are talking about. They don't. Dumplings were made on the spot, fresh and flavorful. The other dishes were excellent as well. Tender meats, crispy veggies. Anyone voting under 5 stars needs to go see a doctor.
i ordered sesame beef.
. it was soggy. the worst version of this plate i have had in 30 years.
I placed an order online on X-Mas.
When I arrived, they were clearly behind and understaffed. I waited 30 minutes for my order, which was fine. The lady called my order and I showed her my order on my cell phone. I drove all the way home about 20 minute drive, to find out that they packed the order so bad and so much in the bag, the liquids were all pressed out and all over the bag, which then got all over my seat. The bag ripped of course, so I had a mess when I got home to clean up. Then when I opened the containers, none of them were my order. I drove all the way back, waited again, and they didn't seem to care or apologize about anything. They offered me 15% back, which was 10 bucks which was my tip. Pretty bad experience for a holiday and while I understand being busy being one of the only places open, it is their responsibility as a business to be staffed correctly. Also you can't call them either, their phone was not being answered at all went straight to a vm that was full. And I live in Beaverton, Oregon. Not sure why Yelp has me listed in another State.

Authentic Chinese food, we were the only non-Asians, that says it all.. if you want real Chinese go here...

Don't let the building mislead you, they don't seem much on the outside but they offer excellent Cantonese food. Authentic Cantonese food big portions and fast service. I was surprised they were not busy on a Saturday night dinner too. They had several to-go orders and 2 large parties. Would definitely go back and recommend this place.

The food here is very sweet and more heavy on the sauce but the dishes are really good and the portions are good. I have ordered from this place a lot and I highly recommend all their meat dishes. The duck and twice cooked pork belly. Their beef broccoli is also worth a try.
The food is really good.
Sizzling mushrooms and beef are amazing, dry sautéed string beans are superior and the hot and sour soup is the best I've had in Portland. The one critique I would have is the slow service. Servers were kind and courteous.
Clean and elegant inside.
Has a nice lobster tank. Service was good. I think the dim sum is cheaper here than at chinatown restaurant, but the baked barbecue pork buns are not as good here.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.

Reservations could be posted for a variety of reasons. Most likely, the person who secured the reservation can no longer attend - to avoid accruing a "no show" fee, they can find someone to take their place.
