E.A.K Shoyu definitely a must try for the ramen bowls and the matcha beer was unexpectedly very good. Service was good and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Best ramen shop in the Times square area in my opinion. Would come back again
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a weds night, no waiting.
Ordered 2 shoyu ramen and takoyaki. Ramen was on point, esp the broth. Broth was flavorful, milky but not thick and a little on the oily side. Comes with less toppings then other places. Takoyaki tasted like any other pre-made ones. Service was quick and place was clean. Give it a try when you in hell's kitchen!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was amazing - and decently priced for what we got.
Service could have been a little quicker, but I promise the meal made up for it. Would recommend this spot to anyone visiting!! Also, the music being played was PACKED with bops!!

There were six of us: two threw up, the other four were just nauseous for 24-48 hours. Also, the ceiling was leaking on people and in bowls and when we complained/asked about it they just said it leaks

The tofu karaage was the same patty in the veggie bao. The eggplants were under spiced. The warm sake worked it's job. Might go back to try the ramen and the fried rice.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here with a group of 6 on a saturday night around 8:30OM. We did not have a reservation but got seated right away. The karaage appetizer was yummy - great portion size. The shishito petters were cooked well too - not too many spicy ones. The ramen itself was tasty but I wasn't blown away. I got the EAK signature ramen. The enjoyed the broth and the texture of the noodles. I just wish it had an egg or more ingredients in it. The pricing is average to what other ramen spots are, not outrageous but still pricey. I would eat here if I was in the vicinity but I probably wouldn't travel to come. Still had a great dining experience though here.
Be the first to ReplyFood was superb.
We shared the garlic edamame which was delicious and more than enough for 2. For dinner, we had the Zebra Shio and Umami Mushroom Shoyu. The mushroom ramen was amazing - very tasty broth and wonderful noodles. Service was well-paced - we did not feel rushed despite a growing crowd at the door. We had plenty of time to enjoy the meal. It's a small restaurant but it did not feel cramped. Best for tables of 2 or 4 - larger parties might feel a little bit crowded.

4 stars for the ramen0 stars for the gyoza as you can pretty much see from the pictureRamen is rather solid that I like it.Gyoza is the nightmare tonight for they don't even bother to seal the skin and just let the juice leak out and make everything soggy in the plate.
Be the first to ReplyI love the ramen here.
It's delicious. Friendly servers. I usually get the regular bowl with an egg & a spicy bomb. Good location in Hell's Kitchen. Definitely a spot to hit in NYC.

My girlfriend took me here because I wanted to try proper ramen. I'm from Sweden and ramen is not as established there. This restaurant serve proper ramen.

This is our third time back here. The dining room was closed we only had outdoor options. They did have heating lamps which were great and they gave my girlfriend a blanket for her legs. Great customer service. My girlfriend had a EAK Ryman I had to zebra Ramen. Both were delicious. If you're in the area or going to see a show this is the place to go.

The food was flavorful and wonderful. Lovely and cozy place, too. A keeper!

Iekei-style Ramen hails from Yokohama (2nd largest Japanese city) known for its thick straight noodles, pork marrow + soy sauce broth. Great eat for after a broadway show since they close late and are in the area. Can see myself coming back! ZEBRA RAMENPork + Chicken broth have an intentionally separated appearance when it first comes to your plate which is pretty cool. Both sides tastes pretty great; combined I found it to be saltier than your typical ramen, but I didn't mind (didn't stop me from drinking all the leftover soup)! I usually prefer wavy over straight noodles but these were nice and chewy and collected the flavor of the broth well. Chashu pork was tender, warm, fatty. The spinach was flavorful and well-seasoned in its own right. Don't hear about this place as much as some other spots, but I would like to come back and try some of their other stuff. Shout out to the two waiters holding down the fort when it got extremely busy in the span of 15 minutes, line out the door!

Delicious ramen, reasonable prices, fast and friendly service. Not sure what else Yelp wants me to write about.

Defiantly try this place out if you like really thick and strong broth! The noodle was also cooked perfectly, not too soft!!
Be the first to ReplyWow, great service, nice people, great food.
I ended up getting the "so spicy" ramen and added a seasoned egg. It was fantastic. The egg was cooked perfectly, the meat was delicious, the veggies were still tender, and the broth was great. The atmosphere was very laid back and it was a mixed crowed. It was very comfortable while also being entertaining.I will definitely be back next time in in NYC! 5*

But the ramen we got was outstanding!!! If you are not pressed for time, this is a great meal.
Be the first to ReplyMe and the BF came here after a Broadway show.
We were quickly seated after showing Vax cards. I ordered Asian fries and it was delicious and filling. For my entree I got the spicy ramen (cannot remember the name right now) hottest level. It was delicious but not as spicy as I was hoping. BF ordered the beef ramen it smelled like steak to me. He said it was delicious. The service was a little slow but they were nice. Will definitely be back when I'm back in NY.

Tables easy to get before 6. TIP: The chicken bao is uber spicy. You can ask for the chicken plain with sauce on the side.
Be the first to ReplyThe location doesn't get better than this.
Right in the heart of restaurant row, this charming little place offers a delicious compact menu. FOODThree of my favorite dishes are the chicken karaage, salmon ikura rice bowl, and the E.A.K shoyu ramen. My recommendation for cocktails would be between the Lychee Invasion and Dream in the Snow (calpico flavor) . SEATINGGreat for small groups or table for two but might be a little tight for groups 6 or more. TRANSPORTATION Pretty much every train line is close. Your best bet would be to take the N,R,W to 49th or A,C,E to Port Authority. Parking lot available within the same block.

Best ramen I've ever had, the broth is super flavorful and rich and the noodles are firm (not mushy). Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyI'm all about trying new Ramen places.
After seeing Hamilton the 4 of us went here with a reservation. I ordered their signature ramen E. A. K. Shoyu. When I tell you my first taste of the broth was like I never had ramen before. It was rich and delicious! Although it had very few components, I loved it and will return! The group shared Gyoza (very good) and we had pork belly and a shrimp Bao buns. As good as can be!

Came by for a quick lunch since I was feeling noods and fried chicken so clearly had to order both. The karaage fried chicken is solid and kinda juicy but not as crunchy as some of the other karaage I've had, I like the choices of sauce that you can get with it with my fave (out of the two that I tried lol) being the spicy garlic. Now for the ramen. Short story is that they hit the basics of the ramen real well. That broth maddd rich and the ramen noods were a lil thicccer and had a real nice sorta al dente-ness to them. What could've been better I feel is the toppings. There wasn't much besides the chashu, spinach, and piece of seaweed. The spinach was a lil off putting since I never really thought spinach would be used in ramen. They do have other toppings but I at least thought maybe like an egg and scallions would be included to help also brighten up the look of the bowl.
