Decided to have a Girls' Night at Drake's as we were
Decided to have a Girls' Night at Drake's as we were wanting that old Hollywood vibe. They offer valet as there's limited street parking (there was a wait to park and pick up your vehicle as they only had two people working). You're able to wait at the bar (open seating, no RSVP needed) when waiting on your full party to arrive. They definitely don't honor the dress code as people were in there with all types of outfits on. Our waitress was nice but we felt super rushed to eat and drink. I ordered the Snow Crab Scampi and Caesar salad. I did enjoy both items and the salad is plenty to share. For my entree, I ordered the Pasta ZaZa (added chicken). The pasta was good but the chicken was dry and the food came out lukewarm. I did try my friend's Vin Scully Fries and enjoyed that. Strawberry lemon drops were my drink of choice that night and the bartender made it wonderfully! This spot definitely wasn't what I expected but it was worth the try!

First of all I do not understand the reason of so many mentions of dress code if everybody is let in regardless of what they are wearing. Maybe it is done just to make this place sound very upscaley Second: service- place is busy and staff is running around but because of that everything is super rushed and messy. Third: valet, not that I will visit again but next time I'd park in the street rather than using complimentary valet And lastly food, definitely nothing special and was not to my tasting. Cocktails were okay. Everything is way overpriced for what it actually is. I do not recommend. I was hoping for old Hollywood type of place but vibe is not there at all

Upscale and Colorful! The greeting of hostess was very friendly and nice as as well as the sever. In Dallas for a birthday celebration, of course not mine. However, this was the location chosen to eat. The dish that I experienced was exceptionally tasteful and consumed with happiness. It was not something not on the menu and crafted by the cook. Spinach, Cauliflower and Asparagus in a red sauce. Well done! The live music was great and added that touch of flare, slight jazzy and history rich music. Although, I have to questions the volume, because the noise level of conversations were loud, so normal toned conversations and repeated statements was necessary. The lighting, decor and artwork were exactly that artsy. My only shortcoming of this restaurant is not having much of a Vegan selection in 2024. Overall it was a very good experience. Until the next time, Bye-Bye!

This was an amazing experience! My friends and I came on Friday night and enjoyed all the food and drinks until we were stuffed. I had the snow crab claws, lobster mac, and honey truffle chicken. I would order that everytime and to go if they did door dash! While my drink was good i wish they garnished it with a lemon or strawberry or even a flower. It was just a sugar rim. The service was excellent and efficient. We did crowd in the waiting room but it was fine. The inside was very nice, I think they play live music but on this day they had a dj. Overall would recommend if you want to go out and have a good time. The servers don't rush you through either!

First time here for my birthday dinner and it did NOT disappoint!! This place is a bit on the high end $$ but worth the experience! Everything we ordered were really good! Our server was super friendly! We ordered salmon crispy rice and loaded fries for starter. Both were sooo good! They were a crowd favorite! Steaks were cooked to perfection! Their Pasta Za Za were flavorful! The best thing of the night was the steak pizza (Ozzy). Must order for sure!!! The vibe of this place is like an old Hollywood hangout. Very classy and classic! Complementary valet and reservations is a must! Highly recommend for a special occasion!

gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: the coldest martinis, steaks, and pastas! They have a such a unique menu to choose from. THE VIBE: old Hollywood vibes. They do have a dress code they would like you to adhere to but I find that they're not actually strict about it. PRICE: ~$90 + $20 tip WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! Second time here. **** Overall Rating: 11/10 - This is probably my favorite special occasion restaurant of all time because every time I come here I'm just obsessed with the food and ambiance! The service is always a 10/10 too. - They have the best martinis- my personal favorite are the French 75 (tastes like a light sparkling lemon drop) and the espresso martini WITH reposado tequila (you gotta ask for the tequila!). - Omg.... YOU HAVE TO TRY THE OZZY PIZZA. It's absolutely delicious. The steak on it was cooked perfectly and this is the perfect size for two people or to share along a larger group so you can enjoy the other dishes. - The salmon crispy rice was pretty average but honestly I love any sushi and I was craving it so it satisfied my craving! - Overall, @drakeshollywood you'll see me again!!! A classic old Dallas staple.
Be the first to ReplyHad a girls night and overall we had a great experience .
The restaurant was clean as far as appearance but our table had salt/ crumbs on it (which was odd seeing as they just opened). Our server was very nice and informative and made great drink and appetizer recommendations. We all enjoyed our food and drinks overall. I would go back at some point just unsure of when or how soon.

I discovered Drake's a few months after relocating to Dallas, and it has been a favorite ever since. The service is always great, and the manager is a gem! Recently, I had a wonderful experience in the private dining room, which reminded me to write this review. The PDR is such a cool spot for an intimate gathering, but the main dining room is just as intimate. It feels like a speakeasy, with no windows, large leather booths, and art along the walls. With the speakeasy vibe, it makes sense that they have a solid cocktail selection, but what keeps you coming back is the food. It's consistently top-notch. I highly recommend the Rick's pizza, Spicy salmon crispy rice, the Honey truffle chicken, or the Pasta za za. They even have the Hudson House cheeseburger (yum!) in case you don't feel like making an extra trip. This is worth adding to the date night rotation ASAP. You won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyQuickly became a top 5 restaurant for us.
They have an in house sommelier who helped us pick out the perfect wine. The Rick's pizza was unique and delicious. Vin Scully fries are some of the best with the smoked cheddar and jalapeños. The spicy rigatoni actually had spice to it, and the wagyu fried rice was delicious. Of course had to end the night with the 24 layer cake. Honestly wasn't that expensive comparatively. Ambiance is really nice and darkly lit. Will be coming here again!

We during the day around 4p, it's very challenging to get a reservation during primetime so alway be mindful of that. The establishment has a very unique dark dim feel to it. The servers are very welcoming and informative about the history of the art. I had the prime rib and it was one of best steaks I ever had.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for my birthday dinner with my best friend.
We both went for the first time yesterday. The interior was absolutely beautiful. Also get the ozzy's pizza. It was amazing!

Excellent service, good drinks (strong which is good because they are about 18 a pop) the food was amazing! Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, sides were delicious, best fresh burrata for appetizer. Our waiter was amazing and gave excellent service. There's a dress code so come looking nice! Totally worth the cost for a nice dinner. Only critique I had was there was way too much cheese on the potatoes.

Drake's is a stylish and sophisticated restaurant located in Dallas that offers a menu of creative and modern American cuisine. The chicken, brussels sprouts, and potatoes are my favorites on the menu. It's not just the food that makes Drake's a standout restaurant - it's also the atmosphere. The interior is chic and old Hollywood style, with sleek furnishings and dim lighting that creates a romantic and intimate ambiance. And the service is impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff that are always ready to recommend the perfect cocktail or dish. Drake's has some of the best service I've received in Dallas. If you come here for a special event, you can make a reservation in advance and they will do everything to make sure you have the best experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat steak and sides!! Can't complain.
Some of the most popular dishes aren't gluten free so I couldn't indulge which was sad but otherwise it was a good experience and great service.

Be the first to ReplyWhat a unique gem in the west Dallas area.
I can't believe I waited so long to try Drake'a out, but now that I have I am so glad I did!I highly recommend setting reservations ahead of time. The restaurant itself is not too big... it is small and cozy, and the focus is really on serving quality food and service. Our waitress Cassandra was so awesome and made our first experience great. She gave great recommendations and really took care of us from start to beginning. I have to say their pasta zaza was my favorite of the night! It is one of their classic dishes as Cassandra let us know.If you're celebrating a birthday or any special occasion, they bring out (upon request) a sparkler on the dessert you order, which is fun and makes you feel special!
Be the first to ReplyI can't believe I have to do this but here goes the review
I can't believe I have to do this but here goes the review to end all reviews.First and foremost, special thanks to KAY SMITH, if thats even her real name, for ruining a huge milestone plus my birthday night for me. I pray you get treated the same way you treated me and my friends if you ever have a big day to celebrate, but I doubt anything monumental ever happens in your life, judging by your character. To start, my friend was denied entry for our reservation due to their dress code, she had ripped jeans, we had her change and they let her sit only to see two other women wearing ripped jeans that were allowed to enter. We let it slide. Service was slow, food was abysmal at best. They tried to cheat us by sending the oysters out without caviar, and even when they came back, the portion was disappointing. Eric our waiter did the best he could to make our night better but it just kept going downhill from there. When my birthday cake came out my girlfriends sang happy birthday to me and they cheered. The security guard Caleb came over and shushed us mid celebration and said if we don't quiet down we would have to leave, orders from the manager. We thought this was a first warning but Kay was ready to have us out of there clearly for personal reasons. We asked if we could have a word with the manager because with that we were past our boiling point. That's when Kay comes in. She was probably the most unprofessional and disrespectful human being i have encountered in my entire life. When I tried to shake her hand and introduce myself she instead tried to squeeze it instead of shake like she was on some power trip. While we were trying to reason with her, a party behind us celebrated another birthday with loud cheers. She couldn't even keep her story straight first it was "we're a quiet establishment" and second it was "we received complaints" , it sounded like she was finding reasons to kick us out. I point over to show how hypocritical she was being, cuts me off and says "I'm just going to give you your check and you can go", didn't even let me enjoy my cake let alone cut into it. When we walked out, other people were leaving and asked us what happened and we explained the situation and they were just as disgusted and told us this wasn't the first time something like this happened. It's unfortunate that the Vandalay Group employs tactless individuals with inferiority complexes because Hudson House is by far my favorite restaurant in Dallas and I expected Drakes to be the same. I will make sure everyone knows how my night went down at Drakes, and your previous reviews speak for themselves.

Be the first to ReplyCame here for our one year anniversary because I kept
Came here for our one year anniversary because I kept hyping up this place from my last experience. Let's start. For drinks, i got the espresso martini and he got the blue and gold - drinks are pretty solid here. For appetizers we got the lobster escargot and the general tso's cauliflower. The lobster escargot was my favoriteeee. It was tender and so yummy with the puff pastry and herb butter. The general Tso's cauliflower really surprised me at how good it was and it kinda didn't seem like I was eating cauliflower lol. I'm sad though bc I don't know if management changed but the main entrees did not hit like it used to the Ozzy filet pizza was decent, nothing special. but what really disappointed me was the pasta zaza. It used to come in a rigatoni shape and a dollop of burrata on top and it was so so yummy. The one they serve now was very heavy and didn't taste the same and I didn't finish much of it:/ The vibes are still fun but it's not as glam as it used to be imo (also petition to plz bring back the snow crab scampi that was the best thing on the menu back in the day) it's been two years since I've been here and two years ago was the best experience I've ever had and it left such a memorable moment in my life and the food was out of this world. I was hoping this time it would be consistent but like many places these days, the quality and food in general just wasn't up to par. It's still a fun night out to get dinner and drinks w the girls but I miss how it used to be.
