Long wait for a table but it's still great chicken
The space is dark and not very comfortable and if you try to walk in, you can expect a wait time of a few hours but it's all worth it - they have some of the most tasty chicken in town. Great spices and a nice crisp batter. The chicken is tender and the bread used for the sandwich is soft and buttery. The popcorn chicken and hot honey chicken sandwich are the things to order

Queues for the sake of queues. Stuck in line with a drunk smoker for 25mins which made the whole experience rubbish. Food average.
Be the first to Reply2nd Worst Bar We've Visited
We recently went to celebrate our anniversary and hadn't managed to beat the bots to a Coop reservation so had to queue for the Front Room. We queued for an hour early on a Friday eve and only ended up spending 20 minutes in the place. The bar forgot about us so it took 15 minutes after ordering for us to receive a flavourless and lacklustre tapped cocktail each (which came way after the drinks for people who had arrived after us, might I add). The long-haired guy who we'd assumed was a barback, but may well have been a manager, came to ask if we were happy with our drinks and gave a thumbs up and walked off even after we said we weren't. So much for customer service. We walked out after the biggest waste of time of our New York trip, questioning the bar's accolades and why on earth we'd tipped ahead for service. 1 star, if only for the awesome music.

Reserve the coop. At the minute reservations go online (6daus before at midnight EST) or it’s hours long wait. Some of the most inventive cocktails I’ve had in North America (up there with the Aviary in Chicago but much different). The menu is so unique. The chicken meals are great. In our group of 5, we tried 10 unique drinks and all executed so well. From desert (French toast and key lime pie) to savory (cold pizza, Ny beet salad) to spiritious all were so unique.
Be the first to ReplyRebels of the cocktail revolution
In the anarchic veins of the Lower East Side, 'Double Chicken Please' emerges as a cathedral of liquid rebellion, an altar where mixological orthodoxy comes to die. This den of creative dissent doesn't just serve you; it spiritually converts you. Your initiation begins in the 'Front Room,' a deceptive antechamber to hedonistic enlightenment. Here, 'cocktail' becomes a laughably impoverished term. You're introduced to the #1, a tempestuous maelstrom where Aperol and passion fruit waltz amidst effervescent whirlwinds of sparkling wine and soda. It doesn't merely splash but detonates defiantly on your palate, an insurgent challenging every preconceived flavor note. Journeying deeper, you encounter the Coop, a sanctified laboratory of libation innovation. Here, conventional mixology is deconstructed, ridiculed, and transcended. The "Key Lime Pie" cocktail is a provocative jest, blurring the sacred lines between sustenance and refreshment, while the "Mango Sticky Rice" concoction materializes as a bold symphony of audaciousness, where Bacardi and mango perform a passionate tango, undercut by the earthy murmurs of pu'er tea and the marine whispers of wakame cold brew. Yet, it's the "Japanese Cold Noodle" that emerges as the heretical zenith. A defiant concoction that scoffs at logic, this blend embarks on a narrative of clandestine pineapple rendezvous, cucumber's crisp banter, coconut's silken soliloquies, and a sesame oil epilogue that lingers on your taste buds, a poignant memory refusing to fade. 'Double Chicken Please' orchestrates not a menu but a revolutionary manifesto in liquid form. It's a relentless maelstrom of gastronomic insurgency against the pedestrian, a challenge clad in the alluring armor of a speakeasy. As you stagger out, every sense tingling in awakened rebellion, you're not just inebriated; you're reborn.

This place is worth every damn penny & the hype is absolutely true. I’d suggest lining up maybe a half hour before the doors open as there will be a line. There’s a bouncer who will verify your I.d then pass you off to a hostess who will ask you preference for back or front room. Twas explained to me that the back room had MORE “fancy” cocktails. The very 1st drink I ordered “butter raisin biscuit” was outstanding. The theme behind most cocktails is food in which the cocktails resemble the flavors of said food. My 2nd cocktail was the “Waldorf salad” & it was single handedly the most refreshing cocktail I’ve ever had in my life. The chicken sandwich was good, on par with some of the best I’ve had however it wasn’t as mind boggling as the cocktails. Now on to dessert. Simultaneously one of the weirdest & best things I’ve had. Twas the “le Big Mac” macaroon & the flavored was exactly that. Outstanding place & product. I highly recommend you indulge.

Brilliant experience! Lovely staff, excellent cocktails, incredible chicken. We had several drinks in the back room, enjoyed some delicious chicken, and had many laughs! Thanks guys!

The line is usually long at DCP and it's hard to get a reservation so make sure to grab a spot early if you plan on going there. Personally, we prefer the Back Room because some of their signature cocktails there were not offered in the Front Room. For drinks, our favorite has got to be their signature Key Lime Pie and of course we couldn't leave without tasting their chicken sandiwches (crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside). Without a doubt, Double Chicken Please lives up to its reputation.
