Great selection with excellent service and low prices.
Also they have their own parking.
Be the first to ReplyGood authentic food, even with takeout.
Tip: this is one of the most accessible restaurants in Chinatown for a person with limited mobility, because the free parking lot is at the front door.

Best dim sum in Chicago! Well at least of the ones I've tried. We got to the restaurant at 11:00am on a Sunday morning and had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table for 5. We enjoyed all of the food which included the following:Bean Curd Skin w/porkSticky rice w/chickenPot stickers (pork)Turnip cake w/cured meatShrimp egg rollsFried sweet potato crepe (shaped in balls)Fried minced pork dumplingSesame BallsFried short ribsPan fried shrimp stuffed eggplantLiquid custard bunsBBQ pork bunsJapanese tofu crepeSupreme soy pan-fried noodlesOf these dishes, I've never had the Fried Sweet Potato Crepes which are shaped in balls and have a surprise purple filling. Those were phenomenal. Another favorite was the Liquid custard buns. I could tell that everything was freshly prepared and brought to our table immediately - some of the items were molten hot. Best sesame balls I've ever had. The shrimp egg rolls were delicious. If you ask, they will bring some hot chili oil to spice up your food. Our bill for 5 people was $90 and we had leftovers to bring home. I will definitely be back.It looked like they had additional seating in an adjacent room for large parties. They have a parking lot that fits about 14 cars that was full but we were able to park across the street.

They boast of having Chinatown's only full bar, but when we arrived and wanted to order cocktails, we were told they couldn't make them because they didn't have a bartender. Food all arrived at different times to the table. My husband's duck was cold and he had to send it back to me reheated. Fruit flies in dining room.

everything we had was delicious! I like that there's a private parking lot that's free, but good luck with that if you go on a really busy day!

Excellent quality dim sum and quick on the service as well here on our revisit. At noon on a Wednesday, it was packed and there was a short 10 minute wait. I checked around and both Phoenix and Imperial (ex Cai) had no waiting but this place still did, if that tells you anything. But it is a relatively small place, and we took our chances anyway as it was our top choice today. Prices have gone up but not any more so than anywhere else (see current menu photo fyi). Service was good, quick, and efficient. We were very happy with the dim sum quality today.

How did I miss the red flags? Looked through reviews on Yelp, and I was stuck in between Dolo and MingHin to grab some dim sum with my friends. Booked a resy through Yelp, and the rest was history. Arrived at our reservation time and we were seated in a private room in the back. Cool right? Or so I thought .. I wanted to use the restroom first to wash my hands before eating. But what kind of soap is this .. watered down soap that doesn't foam or watered down hand sanitizer? Instant red flag .. how are the employees thoroughly washing their hands if their customers can't even do the same? Now, I'm questioning everything .. Who is handling the food? Is it being handled safely? I don't even know now. There's a button in the room which alerts the servers if you need anything. Good thing I always keep that thang on me - hand sanitizer. We placed our order ..DIM SUM -Siu MaiChicken Feet with Black Bean SauceShanghai Soup DumplingBBQ Pork Char Siu BunCrispy Rice Crepe with ConpoyShrimp DumplingClam, Pork, and Shrimp Siu MaiSpare Ribs with Black Bean sauce Shrimp CrepeENTREES - Salt and Pepper Shrimp Peking DuckPea SproutsDuck Fried RiceIt pains me because everything tasted good. But I'm second guessing everything now that the picture is painted clearly .. When the bill was paid and we were finally about to leave, I noticed something in the corner of my eye. No .. it can't be. It's a cockroach glue trap with a dozen cockroaches of all sizes trapped on it. *Puke* Are you kidding me .. As I'm writing this on my flight home, my stomach is turning. I definitely have food poisoning.. Why me? Health Inspectors, please do a follow-up!(As I'm writing this review, I'm looking at the Health Inspection review through Yelp courtesy of Hazel Analytics .. how did this place pass inspection with several complaints?)

Went here last week and loved it! I had a great time with my friends. The food was great, and the prices were not bad at all. Will come back! Get there super early for free parking!

I picked this place because it's on a bunch of best Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. So I was really disappointed when I came to celebrate Lunar New Year. I loved the parking right outside. Six of us came on time for our 3:30 reservation. We ordered 3 off the dim sum menu and 5 entrees off the dinner menu and 3 glasses of wine. The dim sum items were good. The chicken feet were like what I had in SF. But twice the price. The salt pepper ribs were greasy. Nothing like what we had in SF. The salt pepper wings were okay. Tiny portion size. The pork belly and mushrooms were undercooked. The green beans were outstanding. The shrimp fried rice was decent. We still wanted more but was told the kitchen was closed for cleaning. Unbelievable. I don't know why they are so highly rated. The service level is 1 star at best. I had to keep going to the bar to order food and drinks. They are clueless about the front of the house. Maybe after living in SF for 35 years my benchmark for Chinese food is too high. Nevertheless I won't be back.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite places in Chicago for dim sum.
Literally everything we ordered was delicious. And the ambience is more modern than other dim sum places in Chicago. Parking lot is small and likely packed so I'd recommend street parking or meter parking. Also, expect a wait on the weekends!

I only had one takeout order of durian crepes since someone was bringing it for me from their dine-in meal. It tasted like it was fried in really old oil and it was very, very oily. My hand was drenched in oil after eating just one. Needless to say, I had an upset stomach after this. I can't comment on the rest of the dim sum but just based on this experience, I probably wouldn't eat here.

The best dim sum you can find in Chinatown in Chicago in my opinion. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 9/10Situated in its own freestanding building with a small parking lot that you might be able to fight for a spot in if you are early enough, this place offers up the traditional dim sum experience with a menu surely to hit everything that you desire. Seating is set up in large circular tables that can accommodate parties of around 10 or so with the restaurant seating 80-100. It offers up a great dim sum experience.SERVICE: 8/10Food comes out quickly and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful.FOOD: 9/10Overall the dim sum here is really good, there is a great selection and very authentic.Shrimp Shumai - 10/10 - I really like the shrimp shumai here. Always fresh with the stuffing well flavored and no skimping on the shrimp.Fried Taro - 9/10 - A newer choice that I have not tried in the past, but it was very crispy and had great flavor without being overwhelming. Definitely going to get this whenever I come back here in the future.Fried Dough - 7/10 - This was okay. Just got it because someone at my table wanted it, but otherwise, this is not a go to dish for me. It's as the name implies, literally fried dough, almost akin to an American donut.Chicken Feet - 8/10 - Great flavor on these chicken feet. They do them right here and you should definitely try it out.Rice Noodle Rolls - 7/10 - As expected.Beef Rice Noodle Rolls - 8/10 - Essentially a rice noodle roll wrapped around a beef filling, this was quite good. Definitely would take this over the normal rice noodle rolls anyday.Garlic Eggplant - 9/10 - Always a favorite of mine, eggplant stir fried in a garlic sauce is a win. I have no idea how this dish is made, attempting to recreate it multiple occasions without success. Fried Durian - 9/10 - I LOVE durian, so with an option on the menu, I just had to try it. It was quite good, very heavy but I did enjoy it.Pork Dumplings - 7/10 - These were okay. The shrimp shumai was better and raised my standards. BBQ Pork Bun - 6/10 - Meh.Soup Dumplings - 6/10 - These are okay, and do the trick in a pinch. However, as someone who really enjoys soup dumplings, this is not the place for it, and I knew that going in. No real dedicated dim sum place will be doing these well. You have to go to a soup dumpling place to really get the best.VALUE: 8/10Overall prices are fair for what you get.PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 10/10Been here multiple times already.TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: Eat!OVERALL: 9/10
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
Have taken a lot of people there over the years..All has been great u til last month when partner had a taro dish and was super sick, vomiting and diarrhea. Have not been able to go back and am now afraid to refer people. In fairness this was the first and only time this has ever happened but seeing her get sick so quickly has left a lasting impression.

My husband and I were in Chicago for the weekend and on the river architectural boat tour our tour guide mentioned that the Chinatown here is a musty. We love dim sum so I immediately jumped on yelp and found Dolo restaurant and bar. Dolo should absolutely be the place to stop for Dim Sum. We had the pork sticky steam buns, steam shrimp dumplings, and the Lotus leaf wrapped rice. We ate every dipping. Not wanting to miss out, we also order the appetizer walnut shrimp and shared a shrimp fried rice. The walnut shrimp was perfect and The fried rice was enormous. For a table of two, we sure did put a dent in the food. We took the L train to the Chinatown station and walked about 5 -8 mins. Easy walk!

First time here for dim sum and it was so good! I think it's by far one of the better dim sum in all of Chinatown. Very convenient they have their own parking. The shui mai were my favorite and the portions were really good. I would definitely come back. We ordered a lot of food and enjoyed everything.

Came here on a Tuesday evening and got seated at one of the last tables available. Ordered various dim sum items to try such as the pan fried shrimp & corn dumplings, bean curd skin w/pork, curry baby octopus, chicken feet, shu mai and golden tofu. All of the items were delicious, especially the shrimp/corn dumplings. The tofu had lots of salted egg yolk on it and the chicken feet weren't too heavily sauced as well. Between the two of us, we had plenty to eat as the portion size of each dish was a little bit larger than normal as well (size per piece, not number of pieces). Would definitely try other items on the menu next time I visit!
Be the first to ReplyLegit Chinese food.
Got here at 7pm so we could not do Dim Sum, so we will have to come back for that pleasure. The food we did have was excellent:Roasted Duck, moist and flavorfulString green beans in garlic, umm yes I like them dry fried :) Pan seared noodles in soy sauce, deliciousAnd a cuppa hot & sour soup was excellent!!! I look forward to coming back. Food was excellent but the establishment could use a deep spring cleaning.

Happy I found this hidden gem with the too tight parking lot and bar vibe! I'm always looking for new dim sum places that don't rely on msg to artificially boost their foods flavor. I got my usually array of choices to see what was good and what wasn't. My order included-har gow-shiu mai-sticky rice-fried taro-soup dumplings-stuffed tofu skin-chau siu bao-sesame balls-efu minGotta say I was happy with almost everything. Only exception was the soup dumplings which didn't have much flavor and the fact they didn't have spicy yellow mustard. But that last ones just me. Would definitely go back again! Maybe grab a drink at the bar.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the chicken bibimbap.
Wasn't my fav as I found the chicken a bit bland, but I tried my friend's beef bulgogi and that was amazing. Would definitely order that next time. Food took less than 10 minutes.

Fantastic dim sum and great pricing!! I would recommend this place to everyone. They even have a small parking lot for customers:)
Be the first to ReplyCrave for dim sum all the time.
Went there around 1. It was packed. No parking space in the lot. Waited for 45 minutes at least. Sat down and ordered. Slowly food came one by one. Cannot complain much about the food except the Shrimp dish that we ordered was not like the one next table had. Totally different! Also the Taro dish was cold and it is supposed deep fried. The bean curd dim sum tasted a bit funny but other than that, it was good. Reasonable price. Will go again.

I normally would opt for MingHin for the large space, but after hearing so many good things about this place (and MingHin being so packed), I decided that I would try this place during my next trip to Chicago. Absolutely no disappointment I've since been here two times and have loved everything I've ordered. I have only ever ordered dim sum here so anything on the main menu, this is not the review for you. Honestly, all the items I've ever ordered here, which are mostly just your standard dishes, are delicious! They all have a good amount of filling (large prawns too when applicable) and great flavor.Definitely a solid place for your next dim sum adventure! I also believe the dim sum items are all made in-house, so that is incredible.

A pretty decent place for family meals in their one of three private dining rooms. The largest room has two big tables and a couch as well. We arrived right at 4pm, had to wait a little bit in their tiny parking lot to get a parking spot. The place cleared out nicely around 4:05 with probably 6 spots opening at that time.We ordered a mix of dim sum and dinner dishes. I didn't realize that several of the dishes were spicy - my kids are younger and have a sensitivity to spice. But they quickly gulped down water and wanted more bc the food was "so good!". We had stir fried manila clams, salted fish and chicken eggplant casserole, and the house special garlic squid. Chicken feet -huge!, turnip cake super light and tasty, beef tripe - a great garlic ginger sauce and great texture. I really like their dim sum - it's top notch in quality and their dinner dishes were definitely flavorful and good. First time dining in the private rooms here and it was a good experience!

Our favorite place for dimsum in Chinatown hands down! This past Chinese New Year was our 3rd time there and it didn't disappoint. Ordered everything b/c they're all great. (Did not try the chicken feet, since hubs and son don't like them) The only one I didn't care for was the chive pancake, which didn't have enough chives and was a bit doughy--I like them to be crisp at the edges, which took them down to 4 stars but the rest of our order was great.
