Incredible Pasta
Calling this a "Boston" restaurant is a bit of a stretch! We were visiting Boston and it took riding the subway to the bottom of the line and then hopping on a bus to get there. The restaurant is actually located in Roslindale. Was it worth it? Yes. Would we go again? Probably. The ravioli was incredible. Make sure you call for a reservation! Wouldn't want to make the trek just to be turned away.

Perfection in every way! This small off the beat and path restaurant is phenomenal ! The food is exceptional and the service equally exceptional. I can’t say enough about this restaurant. I feel guilty raving about this restaurant because I don’t want any others to know about this secret gem. One of our favorite places to eat.

Stick to the Italian specialties. If something says Demi glacé, stay away. That means drowning in a puddle of sweet syrup. Disgusting. Waitress was very defensive about it. I know what Demi glace is. It’s a rich reduction of a sauce, deeply flavorful. Chicken parmigiana? Really good. Clam sauce? Pretty good a little stingy on the clams.

I've eaten here twice with friends and on both visits we had an EXCEPTIONAL meal - served piping hot and delicious!! Each time we had a different server and the service was spot on! My new "go to" restaurant!!! Thank you!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat granddaughter visit
We visited on a Friday night with our granddaughter and her wife and you six week old great granddaughter. We waited about ten minutes for our table. They took care to give us a table that would accommodate the baby. I had steamed clams as an appetizer. The entrees were veal saltimbocca, gnocchi. Lobster ravioli shrimp and chicken rigatoni. Food was delicious and service was very good. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian
Very good Italian food. The seafood Frutti di mare was excellent. Might be the best one I ever had. The chicken parm was excellent. All of the portions were huge. I Wish they more of a selection of beer since they only serve wine and beer. They were out of quite a bit of the beers they do sell. The service was great. I definitely recommend going here. It’s small and fills up so get a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Dinner
My friend/Mechanic Steve fixed my car today and pulled up to my house and said he wanted to go to Delfinos because he had never been..Twist my arm and off we go..Steve started with a Ceasar salad with anchovies..I had the Caprese salad.Steve ordered the fra Diablo Frutti di Ma and I had spaghetti and meatballs. We shared a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon Justin..For dessert Steve had the Chocolate Bread pudding with fresh whipped cream and I had the in house made Tiramisu..Again both dessert were outstanding to say the least..We also ordered to Port wines to wash down our desserts.Service provided by Christina was perfect in every way..Portions are huge..If you've never been to Delfinos its definitely a must try...😃💯👍👍👍👍👍
Be the first to ReplyGreat Italian Outside of the North End
You don't have to go into the North End to enjoy a fine Italian meal. You'll get an excellent meal at Delfino's in Roslindale Square. I had the veal parmigiana. It was excellent. The veal was melt in your mouth tender and I really loved their red sauce. Everyone at our table enjoyed their large portioned meals. The wait staff was very good and attentive. The only minor complaint was dessert where we found the chocolate bread pudding not as tasty or enjoyable as expected. Still, overall, a very enjoyable dinner.
Be the first to ReplyThe super positive reviews surprise me
Oh boy, I feel guilty about writing this because Delfino's appears to be a beloved restaurant here. Everyone there was perfectly nice but the physical space is quite tired and culinary mediocrity was the experience of the day for our party of four. Start with the high noise levels that made conversation difficult. It’s harder to have a great time with friends when you spend the time leaning forward and talking in loud voices. The halibut special was over cooked and the tiny bit of sauce didn’t add any sorely-needed flavor. Plain boiled carrots, really? The chocolate bread pudding looks fabulous in the photos but it was really pretty terrible. Ditto the tiramisu. Overall, a nice vibe in a neighborhood place but a poor eating experience.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian food and even better service
Delfino is one of the best Italian restaurants we've tried across Boston and the suburbs around the city. What makes it so special? The chef puts a lot of effort into making excellent food, well prepared, well seasoned, and served hot. We recently had the best pasta with seafood dish we've very had anywhere at Delfino Restaurant. Other high points are wine by the bottle or glass is very reasonably priced and the service (ask for Carol) is off the chain good. The bread that is served is fresh daily from Iggy's, which bakes the best Italian bread in the Northeast. The restaurant is a little dark at night. But, the positives outweigh any minor negatives. Avoid the North End where proprietors seem to enjoy overcharging and have an excellent meal at Delfino. It's very good!

The food is very good here. Traditional Italian served in a cozy restaurant which is always bustling. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
