This time disappointing
First time, I was very pleased with the cafe latte and the fresh Croissants. Today I clearly stated that I need the almond croissant, cafe latte and some hot milk on the side ( all at the same time ). And that the drinks should be very hot in this weather at it get cold coming outside. Unfortunately the almond croissant arrived first, then the cafe latte - not hot. I questioned the additional hot milk which arrived by the time I finished my latte also not hot Complaining to the waiter, he told me that he can’t help it as he wrote it in the order, however wasn’t actioned. Disappointing

After a lovely sandwich sitting outside round the fire, we ventured inside for a look around. We met a lovely lady called Jo Balme who worked at Daylesford Organic. She was really knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us showing us round. You could tell she was passionate about working at Daylesford. Thank you, Jo, for all your help, I love my flowers.

Service was great. Every single person was so friendly and attentive. Loved that. Food wise it wasn't that great. I had the babette which was nice but the portion was quite small. The red cabbage pure was the best thing on the plate. For dessert I had a ginger infused mandarin which had lovely flavour but the dish was missing the yoghurt that was included in the dish description
Be the first to ReplyMediocre and overpriced
Had a good breakfast here last month but was disappointed with the lunch: boring burger and under seasoned pizza with sparse toppings that barely covered the middle quarter of the crust.
Be the first to ReplyTasteless brunch and terrible service.
Flowery language on menu but if you've ever had REAL eggs you will be very disappointed. Horrible tea, everything else mediocre and overpriced. We were NOT aware the full English was available until a second ( very good) waitress came over as the menu we were given did not include mysterious the items unlisted anywhere.. Avocado listed as an extra side but 'only available if specified in meal description'!!??? Maybe they are short staffed but that does not excuse the indifference and plain rudeness.
AVOID!!! there are many better places in the vicinity.
Perfect in every way
I can't believe the earlier reviews were the same restaurant. We were passing by and were lucky enough to find an outside table. the road is busy but even the buses are electric now so no problem and ideal for people watching. We had a light lunch which drifted over to tea and we were incredibly well looked after by the most cheerful and amusing waiter and nothing was too much trouble - later on a waitress took over and she was super polite and friendly.. Food was delicious and recommendations were spot on and I think good value for the area. We picked up a couple of pizzas from the deli and a bottle of rose wine. All in all a great choice and will be returning. Top location top food and top marks to the Italian waiter and red haired waitress.
Be the first to ReplyStaff in restaurant unaware of requirements to keep customers Covid-safe
Venue lovely, food good but several staff wearing masks under their nose/chin (while speaking over our table repeatedly throughout our meal) made it very unpleasant. In retrospect I should have got up and left. I really hope none of them had Covid.
Mask wearing is primarily to protect others. Protecting customers front of house from Covid is as important as protecting them from food poisoning by good food hygiene in the kitchen .
Insulting and rude staff
The retail staff are the rudest service employees I’ve ever encountered.
On several occasions visiting from he store on Pimlico Road I have been shouted at and berated for such insignificant things as:
A relative who is exempt from wearing a mask was ordered to leave the shop. The duty manager was raising his voice and making a scene in front of other shoppers (to our embarrassment)
Today, walking through their *open* front door at 9:59 on a Sunday (1 minute before their tills are allowed to begin trading on Sunday trading laws) a team member rudely shouted get out we’ve still got 2 minutes to go. Other stores are open to browsing before opening their tills.
The quality of the produce is great - the high prices reflect that... but the staff have no perception skills and are insulting and rude.
Avoid ... better places on the same road
Been loyal for almost 11 years. Not stepping inside ever again. EVER. Literally hounded at the door by “ security”. The “ brand” has cheapened beyond words..... Food - below average, service - zero. The only good thing butchers - always helpful and friendly but even that not enough for me to return back EVER. If you are a tourist - go to granger, beam, or Italian next door to it. If you local get your produce at fish shop ( incl meat) . All within 1/5 min walk. Which good give zero.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid the shop on Westbourne grove
Despite the fact that it is a good brand, nice products, top quality, the service at the salad/catering section is terrible! It is not the first time, unfriendly, serving food as if they were serving non delicate products, not smiling, talking between each other in the staff team in an other language. You feel like you are interrupting their day.
Pushing to buy more than you need. Cashier doing constently mistakes. Always think it is a bad day and return however it is still the same. Compare to the others shops, this one gives a terrible clients experience. It is a shame! And it desserves their image.
Love/Hate turned to hate
Just to be clear - I love Daylesford, both the food and the company. The food they sell in the shop is exceptionally good produce.
But the cafe? Seriously, what is wrong with them? They used to be good, but now the food is being delivered and it’s looks like the chefs are actually just having a laugh. I just ordered eggs benedict. There was no hollandaise, the ham was pure fat and/or discoloured, the eggs were a mess; it was horrible. You don’t get to be horrible for £15 for 1 piece of bread, 2 eggs and some ham.
This is the third time this has happened now and I keep hoping the quality will return to “old Daylesford” but it hasn’t. If anything it’s got worse and it’s not on.
Also, the butcher used to sell the best sausages I’ve ever tried in my life. I’d buy dozens at a time. They’ve just stopped selling these (red wine and bacon) which is beyond unbelievable. Whoever made that decision should be sacked along with the new “chef”. The other sausages are so so awful.
So avoid the cafe at all costs, it’s disgusting now and head elsewhere for your sausages!
