Not overly impressed
Food was fab, though gluten free options were very poor.. service very slow had to help ourselves to our wine as it was taken away and our glasses were left empty... Gf bread arrived eventually after everyone else had eaten their bread.. couldn't see any Gf deserts on the menu
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Italianโwell worth the stop
We headed here for an early dinner. It was odd to be the first ones in the place but by the time we left two hours later our bellies were full (and happy) and the place was jammed. The chef who owns the place is one of the most famous in Sydney. We started with a buratta salad that was fantastic. For entrees My hubby and I split the spammer crab tagliatelle and our friends had the squid ink pasta with shrimp. Licked the plates clean. Dessert was their specialtyโa creamy things with blueberries that was over the top and again plates were licked clean. My only regret was in our wine choice. It was good but had I remembered the exchange factor US to AS I would have selected a better bottle. Next time
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, service too pushy
This was my first time at Rosetta in Sydney, had been to the Melbourne restaurant before and thought it was amazing! Food was good without being over the top amazing, we had a number of share plates and the Cape Grim Beef Fillet I had as my main, the twice cooked russet potatoes where so good! What really turned me off was the pushy service and the staff getting way too close when going through the specials, felt that yelling the specials in my ear just really ruined the experience.

This restaurant was just a couple of minutes of walk from our hotel in a Sydney. We only ordered one starter and a pizza but thoroughly enjoyed it. Pizza was not on the menu but they got it from their Bar menu. Service was quick and without a fuss.
Be the first to ReplyOkay, But Not Memorable
We were looking for something a bit for casual for a dinner one night and Rosetta looked like it was going to fit the bill. Arriving for an early seating, we were given the menu and some water at a two-top near the entrance to the restaurant. The bill of fare is pretty straight forward Italian style of appetizers, pastas, mains and sides. There was a decent selection of wines by the glass, so we began with a couple of glasses of Prosecco. Almost immediately after our drinks arrived, our very industrious waitress began pressing us to order food. This went on for a while and eventually she believed us when we said that we wanted to enjoy our bubbles first. This served as a hint that the service pace here is very fast. Like churn and burn diner fast. Given this we took our time with the antipasti knowing that second we were done that our pasta dishes would be on the table, and we were right. The food itself was fine, the tomato starter being quite notable for flavour. The pasta dishes (ordered as mains) were quite large and in both cases was a little overcooked to our taste. But maybe thatโs just how the locals like it. The staff were certainly flying all evening, at least based on what we saw. As many have noted, the WC is located very far away from the dining room, somewhere between the CBD and Manly near as we could tell. Okay, maybe not that far, but the location was an odd one and not in keeping with the overall ambience. End to end, we were out of there in about an hour and the food was okay. There are certainly better options nearby but, if you heart is set on an Austrailian interpretation of Italian food, then give it a try. But one visit was enough for us.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional good Italian food
Exceptional good Italian food was our impressions after having dinner there. The place was packed on Thursday. Luckily we made our reservation in advance. The few dishes we ordered were excellent and the wine selection was good. We definitely will return given a chance in future.
Be the first to ReplyOur evening meal
We booked here while on an overnight stay in Sydney before starting a cruise. The atmosphere was quite relaxed. However the meal was disappointing. We had calamari as a starter, it was quite tough and far too much for a starter. We had lamb chops for our main. The chops were on first appearance huge. But in effect there was very little edible meat on the chops - lots of gristle and fat and obviously the bones. We were served a side of potatoes which in itself would have fed an army! However as said earlier the atmosphere was nice.

Good food...nothing special. I was a little put off by the water scam. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling and weโre brought a bottle. When locals came in their water was poured from a pitcher. Our charge was something like $8.50. Felt ripped off.

Batuhan did a fantastic job of recommending the mains and desserts. The food was awesome, Batuhanโs service impeccable and dining experience wonderful. The pasta with spanner crab and Torta di Verona are must trys!
