All in all I think it was a great time with great food except for an incident that really disappointed me. We went with another couple who enjoys trying new places and food just as much as us and been looking forward to trying this place for a while. The restaurant is huge and beautiful.Drinks: The drinks were really yummy the favorite for the table was the Stone fence with flight plan being a close second.Food: The food was spectacular. We really enjoyed all of it. The stand outs for us were the octopus, chicken (surprise hit), short rib, and Sticky Toffee pudding. We could not get enough of all of these. The other items we tried were complimentary bread of course, gruyere fritters, mushroom pasta, pork katsu, and coffee baba rum. These were also very good but not the stars of the night for us.Service: This is where its a bit of a mixed review. The service was slow but I think its because they are so busy. However, we did not mind because we were enjoying our drinks and catching up. The waiter was very nice. The issue came at the end of the night we asked the waiter if we needed reservations for Overstory and he said we would. He went to check and said there would be an hour wait for us so we asked if it would be ok for all of us to get a round of espresso martinis and he said of course. He puts the order in and we get our drinks. We barely had the chance to give them one sip when a woman in a black blazer (I'm guessing a manager or hostess) came to us with a condescending attitude and said Hi so it seems like you are only doing espresso martinis and we need the table so since its just espresso martinis it would be great if you could move to the bar. Lets look at the bar there is no where to stand or sit because its packed. Ummm no. I was like if you would bring us the check (because we still had not gotten our check) we will gladly leave. She's like ok great I'll bring it right over and she does and we took a few more sips and left. I do not know what kind of Michelin star restaurant this is because I believe service is just as much as an important factor as the food. First, we had dinner reservations at 6:15 for which we arrived timely and were seated by 6:20. It took more than 20 minutes for someone to get us our drink order. We get our drinks and after waiting a bit more the waiter comes and we are ready to put in our aps and at this time we are told the whole order needs to be put in at the same time. Ok no problem maybe we should have known better but would have been nice for the waiter to tell us when he took our drink order. OK he leaves and comes back we finally place our order. Since the concept is sharing our orders come out little by little. My issue is after delivering extremely slow service we are told in a rude manner we have to leave (it was a little after 9:30). I don't even care if we had to leave my problem is why would you let us order a round of drinks take a sip and then tell us we have to leave the table. What should have been done is "I know you just placed a round of drinks but we need the table say in few minutes so if you don't mind drinking them quickly or moving to the bar I'll keep the order otherwise I'll cancel and bring you the check. I apologize for the inconvenience busy night." Simple, and then someone doesn't have to come to tell us that since its just espresso martinis like we didn't just drop 800 plus dollars on dinner that we are no longer entitled to a table. I tried not to let this annoy me and even waited a few days but having some tact when speaking to customers really goes a long way. I'm not sure if we would ever go back, unfortunately, since the food was really good.
