Crackers Berlin Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent dinner/drinks venue in the heart of Berlin!
Great experience! Sara managed our table of 13 brilliantly. All of us had a fantastic time and we will be back again very soon.
Cracking evening
This is my second visit to Crackers. They have great food, a great atmosphere, and excellent service. I look forward to returning. It was a perfect way to end a week in Berlin.
Cracker Berlin fails to hit or go near Michelin quality food. Disappointing.
We visited this restaurant after seeing Rick Stien’s programme on Berlin. He’d been to Cracker’s mothership restaurant upstairs called Cookie’s Cream. Crackers is not a Michelin starred restaurant like the mothership. Although it was pricey we decided to push the boat out and go there. It’s kept deliberately dark and has an edgy atmosphere and unusually a DJ. The service was excellent and the food arrived smoothly and efficiently. We’ve been to Michelin starred restaurants in England quite often as well as in Portugal and Spain. So we know our onions. I had three courses. Firstly, a wild garlic soup which was tasty enough but nothing special. My second course was cockerel with vegetables. It looked like a soup with the chicken sitting on a bowl of diced vegetables in a broth. To me it was rather ordinary and not at all of the standard of cooking that I anticipated. My pudding course was a rhubarb dish. I love rhubarb but this dessert was unsweetened and was obviously bitter given rhubarb’s acid taste. All-in-all the food was a great disappointment. We had a couple of beers each which were tasty but pricey. The next evening we went to a traditional German restaurant. Ate heartily and drank Blond beer. It cost us £70.00. The bill for a disappointing meal at Crackers was £167.00. It’s all well and good to be a trendy destination restaurant but trendy decor and a DJ shouldn’t outshine the food. Which was ordinary to poor.
I got the halibut, and it was delightful.
The downside was the service was very slow. Manager gave us complimentary desserts to apologize for over an hour long wait for the main dishes.

Came on a week night with a reservation and had a great time. Interesting entranceway as you can only see it when next to the door. You walk through a hall with a view of the kitchen to get to the main dining hall. Service was friendly and helpful. Dish timing was appropriate. 1. Farmer Peter's salad - delicious, fresh, olive shavings but did not have a strong taste; the taste was more the fruity vinaigrette 2. Sea bass - Very saucy, could use less sauce (as it was salty) but the fish itself was fresh, clean tasting, comes with carrots, perfectly crisp skin which was a nice compliment to the soft fish 3. Cheesecake - Easy to eat, raspberry was not overbearing, good finish. Overall, it was an excellent first meal in Berlin and I recommend coming at least once!

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
