Cork & Fork Penzance Reviews from The Last Year
A find, definitely worth a trip.
This place is good for an early evening dinner. We went around 6pm and we were pleasantly surprised by the very tasty food, scallops for me and mussels for hubby. The menu is not extensive, but what is on there is delicious. There could be a little more choice on the desserts, even so it’s a definite winner.
Lovely evening diner.
Visiting Penzance, thought we would try out the relocated restaurant and were not disappointed. Lovely friendly staff, nice fishy (and non-fishy ) choice, beautifully cooked, relaxing new venue. Would revisit, but now too distant…
Perfect food, perfect staff just perfect
Tried out the new venue tonight, welcomed beautifully by the staff, shown to our table and offered a drink. Menus provided advised of a couple of changes to the dishes so we knew what we were ordering. Staff were amazing all night, friendly, knowledgeable and polite a sure fire win all round. I ordered the scallops and crab starter, my partner the Barata cheese dish and both were amazing both too the eye and the mouth just delicious. The Hake fillet and Steak offering were the main course and once again we were not to be disappointed, perfectly cooked steak with delicious sides of garlic sautéed potatoes and vegetables with The Hake flaked beautifully and again the accompanying sides were spot on. Dessert of panna cotta and my choice of caramelised banana with ice cream was once again delicious If I could give more than 5 I would as this was a perfect evening in a great setting and we will definitely be back again and soon Thank you to all.
Beautifully prepared fresh local food, with a friendly informal atmosphere
Would thoroughly recommend!!! I've been to the Cork & Fork a number of times - for a solo dinner, with my wife on date night, for a business lunch, and each time the food has been utterly fantastic, the staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and fast, and the wine delicious. I love to flip to the back page of the menu where there is a map showing where all the produce comes from - all within a stones throw of Penzance - and tracking my plate down! Cant wait to see them opening in the new restaurant at the Wharfside Shopping Centre so that I can have a great view of the harbour and St Michael's while dining as well!
Cork and Fork - a great evening out and a fabulous meal
Just a short note, we had a fabulous meal on our last visit to Cork and Fark, the fish was sublime finished with a desert that really didn't disappoint, coupled with a locally sourced white wine with extremely friendly staff. On the whole I will definitely be going back it was a most enjoyable evening.
Very disappointed 😞
Dont like to leave bad reviews but if you are a 'foodie' I dont think this will be for you. Having read some nice reviews, we were expecting a great local restaurant but we were very disappointed 😞 all of the dishes we ordered over promised and underdelivered, in particular the crab linguinie which wasn't enjoyable. We also ordered cocktails at a very steep £10 which were not 'true' cocktails. Get a vibe that like many struggling businesses they are trying to boost profits by offering extras like the cocktails and a fancy sounding menu, unfortunately to be outstanding, the quality has to come first ☹️ hope they can adapt and make some improvements in their new premises
A very welcoming bistro with wonderful food and drink.
We had a lovely evening celebrating our wedding anniversary here. So pleased to find it open on a Monday evening. The service, menu and wine were all fantastic. A fab selection of fish dishes along with chicken, steak and veggie options. I had the fish of the day - sole which was so tasty - crispy and soft with lovely greens and new potatoes. We had the very local Polgoon 2022 BACCHUS wine, Aromas: Gooseberry, Elderflower, Granite Minerality. It was delicious.
Great food great service and reasonably priced menu
Saw an advertisement for here online so I decided to give it a go. Was not disappointed on my first visit. Food was delicious and service was grate. Main came with salad and a nice big jacket potato which is allways good for a country boy in the city. Didn't have a booking but there was a seat ready in ten minutes. I am looking forward to visiting here again some time soon to try more of the menu. I hope this restaurant will be here for a good long time to come.
Great night out
Found this restaurant by surprise while out shopping , booked on line , was not disappointed, food was amazing , and service first class , wish we had found in previous years , will definitely go again , look forward to new place but think this had great atmosphere being so small , 5star s
Nice Dinner in Penzance
Had a good dinner here in May with my friends and family. They have good vegan options and can deal with diner with celiac disease. Owner Carol was responsive and willing to modify dishes upon request. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. Virginie was terrific. The only difficulty was needing to wire in a deposit for a large group which we do not usually do in the States. Overall, I would recommend this place for folks visiting Penzance.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
