A spectacularly beautiful hotel with spacious rooms,
A spectacularly beautiful hotel with spacious rooms, attentive service and an impressive pool. We loved our stay at the Cipriani! There were oodles of tourists in Venice when we were there in July but this hotel was a little slice of heaven. We loved that it was not in the hustle and bustle. We had drinks one evening at the bar and they have a gentleman there with a hawk who makes sure that the pigeons stay away. I could truly not have been more delighted by this! Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone making the trip to Venice.

Oro Restaurant - the gem of Venice Recently (20/6/2023), my wife and I dined at Oro, located in the historic Hotel Cipriani. The ambience is contemporary with seating limited to about 10 tables, widely spaced to ensure intimacy. Oro's location on Giudecca affords spectacular vistas of Basilica San Marco, Campanile, and the Doge's Palace at night. We savored the eight-course tasting menu. Highlights were a delectable trio of small dishes including fish carpaccio (sashimi grade), fish and green bell pepper prepared tempura-style entitled "unmasked"; an artful island of small, yellow/ purple/ orange/ lavender flowers seemingly floating on a sea of chilled polenta broth; stone crab in egg yolk foam topped with fragrant black truffle; mildly sweet langoustine, monkfish and sole in tagilatella pasta bathed in clam sauce, citrus (citron), vibrant green samphire, and spirulina (algae) foam; succulent turbot with white asparagus covered in a Hollandaise-like sauce with truffle oil drizzle. Kudos to maître d' Federico, hostess Margarita, waiter Francesco, sommelier Luca, and Chef Riccardo Canella, who graciously visited our table. With his creativity, mastery of flavor and cooking technique, could a 2nd Michelin star not be far behind?

Had an absolutely beautiful night at Oro Restaurant at the Cipriani with one of my best girlfriends - we went for a special dinner while in Venice for the Biennale. Just perfect, from the cocktails to dinner (among other things, incredible truffle cauliflower gnocchi) to the cheese selection, which is presented on a cart, nestled in fresh greens and marked with tiny glass animals to denote whether the cheese is from cow, goat or sheep. The service is spectacular and we had a fantastic time... a night I won't forget!

BELLISIMA!!!! OK this review is for a stay two years ago, so call me a delinquent. This fabulous palace is the original hotel in a restaurant and hotel empire that spans Europe and North America. Restaurants in New York and Miami are reviewed separately.First the hotel, then the food. If anyone has a complaint about this hotel they must be Leona Helmsley. It was as close to perfect as I've seen anywhere in the world. The hotel owns their own island inn the Venetian lagoon. You can take either their private launch or a vaporetto out from the main part of Venice. BTW Elton John was on the same launch as us going over to eat at the restaurant (he was in a mumu, going through a chunkier phase, and going to eat still more hehe). This place is truly a palace. I felt like the Doge himself, or maybe Lucrezia Borgia, just looking out the windows. I sang Don't Cry for Me Italia from the balcony window like Evita (wrong country, same feeling each morning). The service is stellar, with a multilingual staff that guesses your preferred language. Even the housekeeper was friendly and multilingual, plus had an economics degree. The pool area is stunningly beautiful and feels like a perfume ad come to life. The room was like a fairy tale palace. The whole place is remarkably quiet, serene and uncrowded (tourist hordes don't throng there). The restaurant here IMHO is the best in Venice. Try anything fish-related (and don't worry, nothing gets caught in the fairly dirty Venetian Lagoon LOL).In short, this has a well-deserved reputation as one of the best hotels in the world. We stayed there as casual tire-kicker attendees to the Venice Biennale art fair, and they treated us like we might be some sort of big-time art dealer selling Picassos.

4.5 out of 5First to note, Hotel Belmond Cipriani is absolutely stunning in every way. The gorgeous grounds, beautiful view, and incredible service were truly top notch. Attention to detail here is impeccable and we were extremely impressed with how attentive each and every one of the staff members here truly is. The food is quite delicious at the hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed their room service menu and breakfast spread from the buffet. Delicious! We were very happy with our meals. Regarding the Junior Suite, the view is exquisite and the room is beautiful and a nice size. The bathroom was heavenly! The only negative thing (hence the 4.5 out of 5) was the very firm bed. We are used to a soft Sleep number mattress and this one was very firm. Apart from that, we were very happy. All in all, this hotel is gorgeous and the staff is so helpful. We would stay here again!

A 5 star restaurant. Excellent staff, ambiance, and food. We started out on the patio, but due to some bee issues and being allergic, we asked to be moved inside. They were very accommodating at this.
Be the first to Replysuper classy service is the signature of this place.
beautiful gardens and tasteful decor as well. the canal facing outdoor reataurant staff was a little less classy, nevertheles, we had a wonderful time
Be the first to ReplyI was fortunate to stay here for business.
First I never knew Cipriani had their own island - well that's what you would think bc the only way into rest of the island/town is thru a back door that feels like a secret entrance to the real world. Got here by Cipriani boat, and then at dock leads you to the entrance. The drinks here are exorbitantly expensive, I was on an expense account until last day and then realized 3 drinks got me to $100. Lol. However they serve elephant gin which makes me happy. The room is very regal and I'm sure the place Is expensive to maintain being surrounded by water. I love the big bathroom and im not sure if my room was considered a suite or not as I didn't book it- but def was a suite size. You def feel like you're in Marie Antoinettes room or could imagine. Everything has old world regal touch. My balcony faced other people's balcony's which was sort of weird but again I can't complain. This place is magical. So lucky to have been able to stay here. Late night dining & being able to fulfill my late night Gluten free pasta cravings was a plus. Garden dining was nice.I highly recommend for honeymoons or people who can afford it! A boat ride from the centrale where I got in from.

What an amazing place - having stayed at Belmond Portofino Splendido I didn't think there was yet another property that would WOW me like Splendido. Wrong. Capriani a gem. Private, spacious grounds, elegant yet not stuffy-- a perfect retreat. Rooms are expensive compared to the standard Venice fare but those others don't go anywhere near the location and quality of Cipriani. Our room has a lagoon view and large. Beautiful marble bathroom with separate shower and separate tub. I point this out since a lot of hotels in Italy combine shower in the tub. Not all but a fair amount. Compared to Splendido it's 50% bigger and about the same money. Check out AMEX web site if you're card level allows and look for significant room discounts and amenities included with your room. The grounds are inviting and include walking areas, very large pool and sitting areas and of course "the bar" and outside seating area where light meals are also served. None of this is inexpensive. Where the Bellini was invented. All very good --Service everywhere impeccable and unobtrusive. Must be way George Clooney choses this location while in Venice. One cannot "drop in" - requires a water taxi to get here. The hotel offers free shuttle 24/7 to St Marks Square and back. About a 5 min ride.Private tours can easily be arranged to see other islands such as Murano and Burano. Cip's restaurant is a joy-- it's an outside, enclosed venue on the water offering a full menu of mostly seafood, some pasta dishes, great selection of starters and 1st, 2nd courses. Tried many during our stay and found them all very good. Eating in Venice is an option as well and there are many choices -- the usual feeling is that everything is tourist oriented and of course, that's true, with a little research you can find good quality seafood and not feel ripped off.Cipriani is a romantic spot. It will bring you back to yesteryear....enjoy

We had our wedding at the Cipriani, hosted guests from around the world who stayed at the property, and had a number of events at the hotel, and the Cipriani exceeded every one of our expectations. The staff here went over and above in every way shape and form to make our stay and events exquisite, and despite the fact that we had a number of demanding guests from across the globe, made sure that every one of them was more than satisfied with the property. The staff paid attention to every detail, there wasn't an element they would not help us on. As one small example, we slept in on our last day, and did not have sufficient time to pack all our things after a multi-day wedding extravaganza. The staff of the Cipriani took the time to pack all of our things in boxes, and even found $100 in cash in the safe and other valuable items and sent it to us. They took great care of our older guests making sure they had transport to the airport and arranged for porter services and transport there. I could provide a hundred more examples of every little detail they offered to and did help us with, but to have this nestled in an amazing property, a 2 minute boat ride away from St. Mark's square, in an oasis across the water, and one of the only hotels with a pool in Venice was just icing on the cake. You simply will not be disappointed with a stay at the Cipriani, and it will be one of the highlights of your trip to Venice.
Be the first to ReplyI'm not sure if I wanted to write a review of this place
I'm not sure if I wanted to write a review of this place because if/when it became popular on yelp, getting room here will be next to impossible! Very quiet and relaxing island with only 5minutes complimentary boat ride to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is stunning and staffs are wonderful. We mention to our waitress at breakfast table that I was thinking about going to Murano, the next thing we know Roberto was asking me what time should he have a private boat ready to take me to the factory? I know that all hotel arrange tour to the glass factory, but you usually had to track down someone at the front desk and asked for it. Roberto came to my breakfast table! If you're wondering who's Roberto, just pick up any tabloid magazine that shows pictures of Famous people coming in and out of this hotel you'll see Roberto in the background in white jacket helping them getting on and off the boat. September is considered to be off season for visiting Venice, we got upgraded to a one bed room suit with a balcony. We ordered night caps just to take advantage of the beautiful view from the balcony. It only took about 15 minutes for them to deliver our drinks, but they forgot to bring my Tiramisu. I had to call room service to remind them, but it took about 5 minutes for them to deliver my dessert. That was impressive considering my room was on the 4th floor in building with antique elevator! BTW, the elevator only goes to 3rd floor, a flight for stairs is required to get to the 4th floor. OK, the elevator just looks as if it's an antique but I'm sure it's well maintained because the ride was smoother than most elevator I've been in. The door to my room on the other hand was a little tricky, you have to "giggles" a bit to get it open! Looking back, I don't think that particular door/lock gets use all that often because the location of the room looks as if it could be part of a 2 bedroom suite. Anyway, I'm happy to say that you don't have to be rich and famous to be treated like a celebrity at this hotel. The staff are wonderful and they really know what it means to be in a hospitality business. This will be the only Hotel we'll stay at if/when we come back to Venice.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a gorgeous hotel.
The location can't be beat. It's nice to be in a quiet area but only a 5 minute boat ride from Piazza San Marco. The food is consistently delicious, the breakfast buffet is something out of a dream, and for the most part the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Don't expect attentive service by the pool- we ordered a bottle of water and after 35 minutes the attendant admitted he had forgotten. Our room was beautiful, but I ended up locked on the roof deck for about half an hour in the middle of the night because the door knob fell off! I was banging on the door trying to wake my friend, but couldn't. I had to call the front desk to send someone up to let me in and everyone I dealt with was incredibly rude. The next morning, I met with both the GM and the guest services manager. The guest services manager doesn't deserve her job- she was so rude that I was genuinely shocked. I showed her the bruises I had from banging on the door trying to get in, and her response was "well, you shouldn't be doing that." With that she walked away, not caring a bit. The general manager also blamed me for it, although I'm unsure how it's my fault their rooms have safety flaws like that. We also arrived after an overnight flight from Boston and one of two rooms was ready. It took over 6 hours and forceful complaints to get our other room. The cleaning staff, restaurant staff, etc., could not be more friendly and nice. But if anything serious comes up, don't expect much in terms of resolution. I wouldn't advise against staying here, it's a stunning place, but the management is absurd. I plan on following up with a strongly worded letter and/or call to Belmond corporate about the issues we faced. If I hadn't brought my mobile phone outside on the roof terrace I'd have been locked out all night. But apparently, that's my fault?
