This was the most unexpected evening after Yelp event
This was the most unexpected evening after Yelp event because I would had never guessed I'd end up at this joint but sometimes good things happen without planning. First of all the vibes here are immaculate. The decor, the lighting, the crowd and ambiance are top tier and nothing less to be expected from a Miami Beach fine restaurant. The service was also excellent, felt more like pampering to me which is always welcomed. So here's what we had to eat and drink...We ordered at least 5 different cocktails, don't recall the names or recipe but not one person complained about the drinks so I'd take it these were good.To eat we had the Nikkei Gyoza, Branzino Ceviche, Dragon Roll, Tabletop Hibachi Grill, Arroz Chaufa, Octopus, Mango Mochi Ice cream and Magic Chocolate Ball. What stood out the most and was 10/10 were the Hibachi Grill which is 6 pieces of raw wagyu beef to be cooked to one's liking on whatever that little grill is called. The octopus was cooked perfectly, not chewy but the best part was the spicy yuzu and purple potato purรฉe on the side. The dragon roll was also delicious as well as the pork and shrimp gyoza. Our friend ordered the Branzino ceviche and she said it was ok and she was absolutely correct because I tried it and it didn't impress. She's peruvian so her opinion alone is all I needed. The arroz Chaufa was another good dish but I've had better elsewhere. Last but not least, we all really enjoyed the mango mochi and the star of the show...the Magic Chocolate Ball with incredible presentation. Imagine hot white sesame sauce poured onto that chocolate ball and watching it melt into caramel butter ice cream. Just watch the clip attached to get a better idea. There's a 20% gratuity included so you know what to expect but honestly the service was up to par and the tip was well deserved because waiters were personable, attentive and food came out really fast.

Great food, great vibes. Went for a date night.
Be the first to ReplyWorth it.
Best sushi I have ever chewed/tasted. You can really feel and taste the quality. No other sushi place I've tried has come close. Service was fantastic. Decor is very cool. It is pricy, but do your mouth a favor and eat here. 10/10

Never knew it was here. During the day I walk past it all the time because I work in the area. I do enjoy it how it's somewhat tucked like a hidden entrance. I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The black aesthetic with a touch of color is nice. The service was phenomenal even on a busy Friday night. Both waiters were extremely knowledgeable of the menu. Had great recommendations! Love the food and drinks. I would recommend Chotto Matte to any of clients, whether it's date night, or looking for a nice vibe with a group of friends. I enjoyed it!

DO NOT GO HERE!! it's a scam, overcharged for food, the food is mediocre at best, the service is awful, and the manger is not helpful and rude. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE IT'S APPRECIATED!!!
Be the first to ReplyLet me first preface this by saying this is Miami.
A city of tourists and party goers. We came to Miami for my girlfriends bachelorette and decided on chotto matte for dinner. We had a large group and were told in advance we would have a present menu, cool no problem. From the time we were seated it took about 35 minutes to even receive the first round of food, edamame.. A table of 11 girls were given 3 bowls of edamame. The second course comes another 20 minutes later and it's some sort of fish ceviche. Each plate had enough for 2 people who weren't hungry enough to want more. We are starving at this point. We ordered 3 bottles of champagne and they only bring out 1 bottle at a time, fine. But that's barely enough for a half glass for each girl. At this point we're all hangry and ready to start ordering McDonald's on DoorDash. A few girls ordered espresso martinis... never came. Then the fun starts. The waiter came up to our table and let us know we would not be served anymore food or drinks because one girl at the table was allegedly drunk. That's 98% impossible considering we'd had hours to sober up on 1 half glass of champagne. And mind you, at this point we're on entree number 4 or something. Some measly little teriyaki bites. The owner then comes to our table and lets us know we need to leave and here's our bill. We still had 4 more rounds of food coming but nope it was time for us to leave. $1,800.00. For WHAT? Each girl got a few bites of edamame and sushi? They would also not provide us with an itemized bill. We have no idea what we actually paid for and we were completely scammed!!!!BACHELORETTES DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! Terrible service, mediocre food and bland sushi rolls and they will up charge you without any explanation. Not to mention the super obnoxiously loud and also terrible music. This place deserves to be shut down and we will be making sure we let everyone know just how terrible this experience was for all of us.
Be the first to ReplyDidn't receive all of our food it was terrible.
Service was god awful. Don't recommend.
Be the first to ReplyEvery time that I go to Chotto Matte it's an experience.
The whole vibe of the place is incredible - the food is amazing - you definitely should try the chicharrones! I feel that there isn't a dish on the menu I haven't tried, and I'm always impressed by everything that comes to the table. And we always leave full!

You get what you pay for when it comes to food, drinks, and ambiance... but not when it comes to service. Sad to say that as much as I loved what I ordered, the service was not it. As soon as the dinner started, it was a waiting game. Waited to order our drinks, waited to order our appetizers, and when they came to take our actual dinner order, we ordered what we wanted and said we would get more later if we were still hungry. Only when we said that, we were informed that it was last call. No one informed us it was last call and we were rushed to order and ended up ordering random items just to make sure we got enough food. Not only did it take forever to order and to get our food when we ordered, they also forgot something we ordered. We Waited so long that it honestly ruined the whole dinner. Also, had to wait with an empty glass and flag down the waiter in order to get another round of my drink. Never fun to write a bad review on a nice restaurant but something had to be said about the service. $300 later, I would have had a better meal at Matsuri for a quarter of the price.
Be the first to ReplySuper chic restaurant.
My friends and I went in a large group. The drinks were delicious and cute, and the food was also very scrumptious! I forgot exactly which course we chose, but we had like eight courses, family style. The interior was very beautiful. Kinda pricy, but you're paying for the experience and the pretty food.
Be the first to ReplyI really like the food and atmosphere.
Perfect place if you like to enjoy your food and be surprised with it
Be the first to ReplyWe got seated instantly and the food was great.
Highly recommend the yellowtail crispy rice and the yellow tail sashimi. The bock choy was also delicious and the papaya salad. I didn't love the wagyu gyoza.

Today is my birthday and went here for lunch with my boyfriend. It was our first time there and Milos was our waiter. He was absolutely AMAZING!! From beginning to end he wowed us over and over with his menu recommendations. They not once disappointed. It was great. Thank you Milos for a wonderful birthday lunch. And we didn't tell himWhat the occasion was and he still made my experience extra special. We will definitely be back and hope to have Milos as our waiter again.
Be the first to ReplyWent here on a Friday night while in town with friends.
The restaurant had a dj and the vibes were definitely going. The hostess greeted us as soon as we arrived and told us there would be a small wait for our table. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes for our table while other people were being seated that arrived after us. Once seated we ordered a few things for the table. We had the Dragon Roll, Lamb Chops, Spicy Tuna, Edamame and Nikkei Jalea Mixta. The food was okay but could have had more seasoning. The drinks however were amazing. The expresso martini was amazing. Overall I would say this is a great place for drinks and maybe sushi.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an amazing place Great Music and DJ .

Be the first to ReplyJust had the most amazing dinner sitting at the bar.
Our waiter was Jose and I had never been to the restaurant before although my best friend raved about it. I had the spiced mezcal drink and I don't even like mezcal and it was incredible. The yuzu martini is another delicious choice. We had crispy rice, ceviche, and rolls. It was amazing. Will go back and highly recommend. Ask for Jose!!!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food, ambiance and service.
Music was a touch loud but overall really great time. Try to score one of the sofa tables under the trees. Makes for a memorable experience.

First time visiting we waited over 15 mins for a table that we made reservations for and guest walked in after us were seated immediately. The scenery was very pretty and perfect for our girls night out. The food presentation matched the place but seasoning was a little off. Drinks were amazing.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is stunning with the cherry blossom decor.
There was a live dj. The staff was very welcoming and quickly escorted us to our table. Our waiter was extremely courteous and attentive. As for the food, it's a Peruvian Japanese fusion inspired restaurant. We ordered different dishes which were all very tasty.

Nice vibe with good music, great food but the service can be better. It is a very expensive restaurant and you expect out of this world service. We waited so much to get our order in because our server had so many tables to serve. Once we finally put our order in the food came out very fast. Also , would recommend to always have a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyFirst and foremost, this was a very unorganized operation.
We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time and they mentioned they had no tables available (okay, we understand) and that we could go walk around and they would come find us...(huh?). Second we waited 45 minutes right in front of the hostess desk before we were seated. We were only seated because we asked to speak to to a manager when one of the hostess mentioned they didn't know if there was a table yet. Just know customer service is lacking and they are very unorganized on busy nights no system in place for them. The food was decent. I can't say that I would return purely on customer service and that if I'm paying a premium price then there should be premium customer service. Also, they seated people who arrived after us - 40 minutes after our reservation time.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing and over-priced.
As a Miami local and restaurant lover I have decided to adopt a new hobby of writing reviews about the good and bad. Unfortunately, Chotto Matte falls into the 'bad' category. Due to all of the buzz amongst friends and social media posts I had high hopes but was instead let down tremendously. My boyfriend and I were able to get a last minute reservation and were immediately greeted with a DJ at the host booth, neon lights and a vibrant crowd- very much like walking into the club. We opted for the sharing menu as the waiter had suggested and the food began to come out: course after course after course.. oh and another course! I wish the waiter would have advised us that it is far too much food for two people, though I admit that it was our fault as well. The true disappointment was the quality of the food. It was over-seasoned, over-garnished and most dishes were drowning in some sort of sauce. In the words of my boyfriend, they were trying to 'do too much'. There were far too many conflicting tastes and textures to even taste what was supposed to be at the focal point of the dish. The service was okay, nothing special. Overall, Chotto Matte needs to learn that 'less is more' and if you would like to try real and tasty Peruvian Asian fusion I urge you to cancel your reservation here and try out 'Intimo' on Miami Beach!

Chotto Matte transports you to a different world once you walk in. The restaurant is chic, I really love the decor! I visited on a Wednesday with a group of girlfriends for the 50% off menu special. We were able to taste a little of everything, which I really enjoyed! We ordered the Yellowtail Jalapeรฑo Crispy Rice and Nikkei Gyoza as appetizers. We decided to have a second course and ordered the Chicken Karaage and California Roll. We couldn't stop there, so we ordered the Lomo al la Parilla and Asado de Tira as a third course. To top it all off, ended the night with the Chotto Matte Dessert Platter. Honestly, every single dish we tried had a great flavor profile. The meats were cooked perfectly and tender. The seafood was fresh. And the dessert platter had all the sweets you could think of! I can't wait to come back and experience the restaurant ambiance and food again!

*For starters, I'm not the one to ever, ever complain. But this one was deserving. Before my guest and I walked in, we were looked at as outsiders by employees dressed in black suits, almost questioning us as I saw hesitation in their walk & look towards us, without greeting so much as a welcome. I figured maybe it's because we look younger than we seem? As we sat down, the waitress was a bit rude upon checking our I.D's I've never seen someone look at our I.D's for literally 5min. As we brought it to her attention, since we came to try and enjoy what we figured to be great ended up being a huge disappointment restaurant not to be interrogated because of our looks. She seemed to have questioned our I.D's in the end finding out we were "okay". For what ever excuse she had for checking for that much time. This she then lied to us that her shift was ending only to switch with a different waitress that was a male to only be even rude than the previous one. As it was our first time he answered very rudely towards the food and how the portions worked. We were trying to actually do the share menu and both male and female waitress refrained us from doing so by saying " I don't believe it would be a good idea, since the kitchen will be closing, and the food would be coming out to fast for you." ย keep in mind it was 10:20pm.. restaurant closes at 12am..- 2 of our plates came out burnt. The black fish and dumplings..*Food comes in "very small portions", smaller then starters that most restaurants offer a decent amount on and as it was explained by waitress, even smaller when you do share menu.. Seminole Hard Rock Casino does a more superior and greater portion at this.*Restaurant adds $32+ in gratitude in advance. Without letting you know, as most restaurants do say.*Instead of the experience and enjoying. They're quick to get you out then keep you in.*The host was the only kind person and thing we enjoyed out of the restaurant aside the small bit of decore we witnessed. We were out of the restaurant by 10:35pm and we arrived at 10:05pm..
Be the first to ReplySeems like the reviews are low for the experience we had.
Our waiter was sunny and the manager was Miguel, both were amazing to our group. We had been referred by the Fountainebleau staff and let's just say it didn't disappoint. The food just kept coming and so did the shots. We ordered the sharing menu 3 and we enjoyed it all. I would highly recommend this place!
